Huck to AIDS victims, “Quarantine You”. Gays “Sinful, Aberrant”.

From The AP:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Mike Huckabee once advocated isolating AIDS patients from the general public, opposed increased federal funding in the search for a cure and said homosexuality could “pose a dangerous public health risk.” MORE

From The Politico:

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, surging in Iowa polls in the Republican presidential race, wrote on a questionnaire while running for U.S. Senate in 1992 that homosexuality is “aberrant” and “sinful.”

“I feel homosexuality is an aberrant, unnatural, and sinful lifestyle, and we now know it can pose a dangerous public health risk,” Huckabee wrote in the questionnaire for The Associated Press, which reported the answer on Saturday.

In another answer that could damage his standing in the presidential race, Huckabee wrote on the questionnaire that AIDS research was receiving an unfair amount of federal money. Instead, he said celebrities should pay for the research themselves.

“In light of the extraordinary funds already being given for AIDS research, it does not seem that additional federal spending can be justified,” Huckabee wrote, according to the AP.

The Clinton Hostage Crisis

December 1st, 2007 | 3 Comments | Posted in 2008, Hillary Clinton, Rudy Giuliani, The AP

THE AMERICAN THINKER By Clarice Feldman

Is it just me, or does this whole episode smack of media manipulation and political grandstanding?

After all the “plants” during the debates, my level of distrust of “All Things Clinton” and “All Things MSM” has soared to stratospheric heights…..and now we have a hostage crisis at a Clinton campaign office from a guy who wanted to talk to CNN about the health care crisis?

Everything about this story fails the smell test.

We are told that he had been on a “two day bender.” Neatly dressed in a business suit with his tie knotted and pulled up to the collar? Not that anyone on this site has ever been on a “two day bender,” but if you had, would you still have your tie on and look like you had just stepped out of a power point presentation?

Clarice Feldman writes in her article that the suggestion by the AP and the “normally sane Larry Sabato” that Hillary’s role in the hostage crisis showed real leadership “debases real leadership with the ersatz, highly salted and laced-with-preservatives stuff.”

“AP, however, treated this as if it were the equivalent of Giuliani’s role in 9/11.

When the hostages had been released and their alleged captor arrested, a regal-looking Hillary Rodham Clinton strolled out of her Washington home, the picture of calm in the face of crisis.

The image, broadcast just as the network news began, conveyed the message a thousand town hall meetings and campaign commercials strive for……namely, that the Democratic presidential contender can face disorder in a most orderly manner.”

Several days ago when I posted a story on Guiliani’s love-nest expenses, I didn’t know if the story had “legs” or not. It turned out to have very strong legs, indeed.

Now, this story reminds me of what Yogi Berra used to say: “It’s like deja vu all over again.”

P.S. If the guy was really interested in the health care crisis, why didn’t he ask to speak with Mitt Romney? Between the two, Clinton and Romney, Mitt is the only candidate who has ACTUALLY PASSED A HEALTH CARE PLAN!!

Romney Says He’s Happy to Be Targeted in Latest Clinton Ad

November 25th, 2007 | 2 Comments | Posted in Barack Obama, Democrats, Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney, The AP, Videos

FOX NEWS Shushanna Walshe and the AP

I saw Hillary’s latest campaign ad earlier this week and it featured Mitt Romney very prominently. The ad talked about the “Republican Attack Machine” and I thought, if I was MR I would take the ad as a compliment. When another campaign just ignores you, you many be in a little bit of trouble, but when they come at you, you know you’ve been drawing some blood.

Below are a few lines from the article.

AMHERST, N.H. — Mitt Romney said Saturday that a new ad from Hillary Clinton’s campaign targeting him for being part of the so-called “Republican attack machine” ranks as the best part of the campaign so far.

“I’m convinced you are going to have the Democrats always whining about something. When we talk about their lack of experience they’ll be whining. When we talk about the course they would have taken in Iraq and how bad it would have been for our country they’d be whining,” Romney said. “It’s going to be a lot of whining you are going to hear. But, from our side, you are going to see optimism, hope and a pathway for greater prosperity in this country. ”

It’s very ironic that the Hillary War Room is complaining about “attack machines” when that is their stock in trade. It seems that they can dish it out but they can’t take it.

Maybe now they can quit spreading rumors (behind the scenes) that they have some “dirt” on Barack Obama. I admired Obama’s response to the effect, “Let’s see what you’ve got and if you can’t produce it, then shut up.”

UPDATE BY DAVID KIM:

Just for fun, here is the add that Hillary objected to:

And, here’s Hillary’s add calling out Mitt and John McCain as the “Republican Attack Machine.”

As I watch her ad…I’m astounded that her messages can actually resonate with a significant segment of the population (I know that there are liberals out there…but it still astounds me).

Pathetic - One issue Brownback (Abortion)…in talks with PRO-ABORTION Guiliani

From the AP:

Brownback and Giuliani Discuss Abortion

By LIBBY QUAID – 5 hours ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. Sam Brownback pronounced himself “much more comfortable” with Rudy Giuliani’s position on abortion after the one-time rivals for the Republican presidential nomination discussed the issue Thursday.

Amazing how cozy Sam has become to Rudy…especially considering this slam he made against Governor Romney:

“Mitt Romney is telling Iowans he is firmly pro-life,” the Brownback campaign’s phone message says, adding, “Nothing could be further from the truth.” The message also notes that Romney’s wife, Ann, “has contributed money to Planned Parenthood.” Romney spokesperson Tim Albrecht called the phone messages “despicable” and “negative,” adding that the campaign “should apologize to Ann Romney and Governor Romney for this personal attack” (Glover, AP/Hays Daily News, 7/24).

Rudy is an AVOWED PRO-CHOICE candidate, but Sam sure did get his kicks into Romney when he was running for President about his abortion stance that is without a doubt Pro-Life…

Pssst…tell Sam something, Mitt Romney’s going to be the nominee of the Republican Party…and then go on to be the next President of the United States.
