Mitt Romney Can Win Big — Please Get in the Game, NOW

Governor Mitt Romney is going to win the nomination.

Romney

Governor Romney is going to win.

Does this mean he has it in the bag? NOT AT ALL! Now is the time that every person — who wants Governor Romney to win every early state — needs to redouble his or her efforts to make a difference in this race.

If you have not gotten involved in the campaign, please make a decision to do so now. If you are watching with excitement from the sidelines, please make the decision today to get in the game. Ask around in your community to find out who is working for Governor Romney’s grassroots efforts and call them; tell them you are ready to roll up your sleeves and help out.

What if you don’t have time? Then please consider contributing some money to help get Governor Romney’s message out. See the link just below for the official online form. No contribution is too small. Please contribute as much as you can to make a difference.

But, please get in the game now. Governor Romney is going to need every person on deck to help out.   NOW.   Tomorrow may be too late.

Now is the Time to Make a Difference — Time to Step Up

This past year, I have had many people contact me with a desire to help Mitt get elected. Those who want to get involved with their time and making calls, I direct to official campaign teams. However, many people are too busy “to jump in with all fours” (as they say) and would prefer to help out by making contributions to Mitt’s campaign.

As you know, presidential candidates like Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, and Hillary Clinton have valuable name recognition that has been acquired over years of media exposure and hundreds of millions of dollars of free publicity. When Mitt is able to get out and meet the people, followed by television advertising of his message, his poll numbers move to the top. We are witnessing this ascension in states like South Carolina and New Hampshire, and even in Florida.

I am confident Mitt Romney can win the Republican nomination, but he is going to need a lot more money to get his message out to the people. From now on, whenever I post a message on this blog, I will print the following line at the end of each post with the hyperlink to the Official Romney for President contribution form. This line will be tagged to every post of mine until Governor Romney is elected President Romney. My simple request is that you periodically click through and donate to his campaign when you visit this site and feel inspired.

We need your help in this important campaign, but if you are too busy to help right now, please consider making your contribution in the form of dollars to the campaign. AND NO CONTRIBUTION IS TOO SMALL. My new tag line:

Please Help Mitt Get His Message Out —-> MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Here are some examples of what your contributions, combined with others’ can do for Governor Romney. I strongly believe that Governor Romney can win all seven of the “early” caucus and primary states leading to “Super Tuesday” (Feb. 5th). If he were to win all seven states, with your help, the publicity and momentum going into Feb 5th would be unstoppable by Giuliani or any other candidate. This is not at all implausible. Here are some examples of how your contributions can be leveraged:

Iowa

  • Contribute $425 to buy a 30-second TV ad in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
  • Contribute $800 to buy a 30-second TV ad in Des Moines, Iowa.

New Hampshire

  • Contribute $1,275 to buy a 30-second TV ad in Manchester, New Hampshire.

South Carolina

  • Contribute $175 to buy a 30-second TV ad in Charleston, South Carolina.
  • Contribute $300 to buy a 30-second TV ad in Florence, South Carolina.

As I have approached people requesting donations this past year, many have donated generously and I know that Governor Romney is most grateful. Many have told me they will donate a lot more when “the caucuses and primaries are here”. Well, they are here! Now is the time to fish or cut bait to get Mitt in the saddle. Nobody works harder than Governor Romney in the campaign. Let’s do our part to help him win. With your help, we can outpace Giuliani in getting Mitt’s message out.

A Telling Comment

November 2nd, 2007 | 1 Comment | Posted in 2008, Abortion, Five Brothers Blog, Race, Rudy Giuliani

MattC (formerly known as HeavyM) posted the following over at Race42008 . . . I’m surprised that it hasn’t gotten more play (Tagg mentioned it at the FiveBrothersBlog).

Here’s what Mitt’s son Tagg said at the ND dinner:

“Personally, I think the best way to beat Hillary Clinton is not to water down our values, or to try to act more like Hillary Clinton, or try to blur the distinction between Republicans and Democrats. I think we need a strong Republican.”

In stark contrast, here’s what Kevin Cramer, spokesman for Giuliani said after Tagg’s speech:

“We are here to choose a candidate who can win next November. It does us no good to stand on our beautiful, wonderful principles, and lose to Hillary Clinton.

Courtesy of the Giuliani campaign themselves, you now have a very clear choice between two political philosophies that couldn’t be more diametrically opposed.

Well said MattC!

Mitt Romney: Rising in Polls ———— Likely to be The Nominee

This article out of Palo Alto, CA is outstanding analysis, demonstrating a thorough understanding by Tim Ford of today’s presidential race. By far, the best quote is the one at the end. And for those of you still doubting Gov. Romney’s chances. Remember this — this is something we all need to remember when getting others excited about supporting GMR for president: At this same moment in time before the primaries in Gov. Clinton’s first run, he was at 6% in the national polls! When he won the early states’ primaries and caucuses, he won the nomination and went on to get elected president! Gov. Romney is at 10% or greater depending on the poll.

The first presidential election in fifty-six years without an incumbent president or vice president on the ballot has surprised politicos and challenged conventional wisdom, seemingly at every turn. No one expected the implosion of Arizona Sen. John McCain’s campaign, with its structural shake-ups and dives in both fundraising and poll numbers.

…there are still those who continue to cling to the old conventional wisdom and deny that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who would be the first non-Protestant or non-Catholic to win a presidential nomination by either major political party, currently stands in the best position to clinch the Republican nod.

Strategists inconclusively debated the significance of Romney’s recent win in the Ames Straw Poll, perhaps the largest straw poll leading into the primary season. Despite a field of seven participants, he only took 31.6% of the votes cast. And further, Romney’s three biggest competitors, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson, and Senator McCain, declined to actively campaign in Ames.

At the same time, however, Giuliani, Thompson, and McCain each had a reason for not taking part in the event that first recognized President George W. Bush’s strength as a candidate in 1999. Ames draws thousands of Republican activists from across Iowa, thus making the contest a measure of organizational strength. Romney has established the best organization in Iowa, especially since organization is largely a function of money—one of Romney’s advantages. Although his numbers have yet to extend nationally, Romney’s efforts in Iowa have translated into positive movement in Iowa polls, with multiple polls showing him with over double the support of his closest challenger. As far as the diminished significance of his Ames win goes, political analyst Charlie Cook points out in a recent column that he still beat his nearest competitor, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, by over thirteen points. Cook goes on to recognize that the margin of Romney’s win still outdistances either George W. Bush’s ten-point 1999 win over Steve Forbes or Pat Robertson’s nine-point 1987 win over Bob Dole.

The 2008 election’s trend of primary frontloading could also aid a domino effect after likely Romney wins in Iowa and New Hampshire. Even as states like Wyoming, Michigan, and Florida move their primaries ahead of February 5, the earliest date allowed under party rules, over twenty states now plan to hold their primaries on February 5. For the first time in a presidential election season, over 40% of delegates to the party conventions will be awarded by the first week in February.

The primary pre-season is coming to an end with the Iowa caucuses only four months away, and at this point Mitt Romney’s campaign stands in the best position. Political commentator Craig Crawford asserted that Rudy Giuliani won the pre-season, on the grounds that he maintains his lead in national polls, but such reasoning is short-sighted. Giuliani’s national leads have only declined as time has worn on, and if the trend continues he will fall behind. John McCain’s poll numbers have been literally cut in half over the pre-season. And Fred Thompson’s long-awaited official entrance into the presidential race has people questioning whether waiting so long to join the fray has sapped the enthusiasm of his early supporters. Indeed, Mitt Romney is the only major Republican presidential candidate whose numbers are currently climbing, even if he is not yet out in front of the pack. Such momentum is the most important asset in a campaign at this juncture, for it will enable him to come from behind to win, just as John Kerry did in Iowa in 2004. If he can keep up the momentum, it may put a former freshman from our own Wilbur Hall on the path to the White House.

The polls will continue to fluctuate in a never-ending fluid environment. One of the best metaphors I have heard to describe this year’s Republican presidential race is that it is like a game of billiards. When the cue ball hits the nice organized triangle, the game is changed instantly to a completely different game. The next shot also changes the game’s dynamics. That is why this presidential season is the most fascinating I have ever witnessed!

Mark this down in history…Mitt Romney on Thursday called the failure of inner city schools “the great civil rights issue of our time.”

August 16th, 2007 | 3 Comments | Posted in 2008, Education, Race

I guarantee you it’ll be looked back upon as pivotal in terms of Romney’s first run for President down the line in terms of political history.

Keep in mind the following quote:

Mitt Romney on Thursday called the failure of inner city schools “the great civil rights issue of our time.”

This man impresses me more and more every day…

Health Care, Race Relations, Immigration, Education…there isn’t one issue where he’s trumped by another candidate…
