Reports of Huckabee Supporter MischiefJanuary 13th, 2008 | 8 Comments | Posted in Attack Ads, Michigan, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Push Polls

Here are a couple posts I’ve seen today evidencing Huckabee supporters are using automated calls / push-polling to cause mischief in Michigan.
Two posts citing push polling appear on this site:TPMMuckraker. It says the calls are coming from a group called “Common Sense Issues,” that supports Huckabee. One post said:
I’m in Oakland County, MI, R country. The call just now came from a Virginia area code. It was obvious in the first 30 seconds that this was a Huckabee “push” - shove and tackle might be more like it. Interesting at the end, the robo asked me if I was a) over 50, b) a male, and c) if I like Carl Levin. And these guys are getting a tax break? Hope not.
Another post in the Detroit Free Press, among the comments to a pro-Mitt story, said the following (typos fixed):
My pastor played a major role to go along with Huckabee’s poor performance in the last debate in why [Huckabee] was removed from [my] list [of acceptable candidates]. My pastor, a flaming liberal, actually shared with me he was supporting Huckabee, only to change his mind after Huckabee pulled one of those calling survey tricks on him and pissed him off….”
This info is second hand, and very disappointing if true. I hope we’re not to a place where the political end justifies the means, even to supporters of a minister’s candidacy.
