President Reagan 1981 Inaugural Address |
Compare the rhetoric of President Reagan to the rhetoric of most politicians today. Ronald Reagan did not attempt to make himself seem greater by diminishing others. He was known as the “Great Communicator,” but, in characteristic humility, he once said: “I was not a Great Communicator, I merely communicated great ideas.”
Please take the time to enjoy his Inaugural Address from 1981. Although it was 28 years ago, you will hear him speak of some of the issues we are dealing with today. If anyone asks us what we are trying to accomplish with this site, say to them that Mitt Romney reminds us very much of this man who is so loved by Americans who agreed with President Reagan that America should once again become the “shining city on the hillside.”
