ABSOLUTE BEST POLITICAL ONE-LINERS IN 20 YEARS!

Flag Waving
Hat Tip to reader SHIGGZ for finding this clip from the Hannity and Colmes show tonight.

What is amazing about this clip is that the ultra-conservative Ann Coulter actually states she would not only vote for Hillary Clinton if McCain were the Republican nominee, she would campaign for her. You have to watch this clip to the very end. Listen carefully to the words she uses to describe this man John McCain. And she is serious! I have never seen this kind of serious rhetoric about any presidential candidate since I have been alive. She just went off on McCain.

Watch how the body language of Alan Colmes changes from beginning to end of the clip. This is stunning! I can’t wait to see McCain’s response. Being the weasel of a man that he is, he won’t. By the way, just before this Coulter segment, Hannity confirmed with Governor Romney that Tim Russert invited John McCain to debate Gov. Romney on the economy and McCain declined. This after McCain had asked Russert, awhile back, to arrange an debate one-on-one with Gov. Romney to debate economic issues. In my neck of the woods, we call people like that weenies.
.
.

.
There is one thing that is very clear, it is never difficult to figure out exactly what Ann Coulter is thinking on a given subject. Do any of you think McCain will answer these charges or evade and retreat? You probably know my answer to that.

McCain’s Determination to Gain Absolute Power

Flag Waving

Mr. McCain’s personal ambition to acquire power knows no bounds. After studying the man closely now for well over a year, and having observed him over the years in the Senate, there is no doubt in my mind that he will do ANYTHING to become supreme commander. He is calculating and cunning. This link will leave no doubt; be sure to listen to this brief audio clip with John Kerry. This solidifies the truth depicted in Michael Ramirez’s cartoon below!

By the way, THANK YOU to reader Charles R. for the tip to this site! Click here:

A Woman? Sure! — A Black Man? Sure! — A Mormon? H*** No!

Flag Waving

Some pictures are worth more than a thousand words!

Is it not true that, as Americans, just about every person alive who can vote would not hesitate one second (so they say) to vote for a black man or a woman for President? That this country has progressed over the decades to the point where racial bigotry and gender discrimination are considered relics of the past? We know that both forms of bigotry still exist, but to a much smaller degree than in years past. And yet, religious intolerance, one of the great evils that drove people to found this nation, is still the most conspicuous, insidious, and unspeakable forms of bigotry that pervades this nation!

If you don’t believe me, get a copy of ARTICLE VI — The Movie and tell me I am wrong.

There are still millions in this great nation who are religious bigots beyond comprehension — sorry to say.

BILLARY: Never Forget that it is POWER AT ALL COSTS

January 23rd, 2008 | 4 Comments | Posted in 2008, Corruption, Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney

Flag Waving

For all of the last year, I have hoped that Hillary Clinton would be the Democrat nominee. No matter how well Obama does in South Carolina, or any state for that matter, I do not believe he can defeat the Clinton machine. I think Clinton will end up being the nominee. We should never kid ourselves. She/they are ruthless, shrewd, determined, and willing to do or say anything to gain power. Of this I have no doubt. Of this, I do not kid myself and never have.

This entire article is an important read to well understand this formidable, corrupt opponent:

REVIEW & OUTLOOK — Obama’s Clinton Education — January 23, 2008; Page A24

This article made me wonder what is the lowest point Mr. and Mrs. Clinton are willing to stoop to, in order to take power. At what cost to America and Americans?

One of our favorite Bill Clinton anecdotes involves a confrontation he had with Bob Dole in the Oval Office after the 1996 election. Mr. Dole protested Mr. Clinton’s attack ads claiming the Republican wanted to harm Medicare, but the President merely smiled that Bubba grin and said, “You gotta do what you gotta do.”

BILL/HILLARY

We’re reminded of that story listening to Barack Obama protest his treatment by the now ex-President Clinton on behalf of his wanna-be-President wife. “You know the former President, who I think all of us have a lot of regard for, has taken his advocacy on behalf of his wife to a level that I think is pretty troubling,” Mr. Obama told a TV interviewer. “He continues to make statements that are not supported by the facts — whether it’s about my record of opposition to the war in Iraq or our approach to organizing in Las Vegas.”

Now he knows how the rest of us feel.

The Illinois Senator is still a young man, but not so young as to have missed the 1990s. He nonetheless seems to be awakening slowly to what everyone else already knows about the Clintons, which is that they will say and do whatever they “gotta” say or do to win. Listen closely to Mr. Obama, and you can almost hear the echoes of Bob Dole at the end of the 1996 campaign asking, “Where’s the outrage?”

This has been the core of the conservative critique of the Clintons for years.

Iowans & Reporters Played for Fools by Huckabee

flag waving

“Mike Huckabee is the candidate that just keeps on giving!” [quote from Jeff Fuller just now after speaking with him]

Does Mr. Huckabee think we are all complete, utter idiots?

[Please forgive me for using the nickname "Duckabee" --- I depart from the normal decorum in this one instance as I believe the label best suits Huckabee as he continues to dodge truth --- I simply could not resist.]

KUDOS to Rusty, Ann Marie, and Mike for getting the Huckabee low-road story up so fast. Is this amazing, or what? Seriously, I think Huckabee woke up this morning and said to his wife,

“I think I want to become the first presidential candidate in the history of the Iowa caucuses to become a certifiable laughing stock of the media and the good folks of Iowa. What do you think darling? What is the best way for me to do that today?”

There are so many words that came to my mind after seeing all the reports today on this. I chose the title of this post from a line in Rusty’s post. Here are the words that came to my mind after watching all of these reports on Duckabee:

— CUNNING — INDECISIVE — MANIPULATIVE — CRAFTY — DISENGENUOUS — UNSOPHISTICATED — BACK-WATER — DISHONEST — CORRUPT — DECEITFUL — FRAUDULENT — DOUBLE-DEALING — UNPRINCIPLED — UNSCRUPULOUS — GUILE — TWO-FACED — DESPERATE
(I could list the other 25 but want to keep this short)

huckabee-photo2.jpg

Why the word “dishonest”? Simply because Duckabee absolutely knew that the State of Massachusetts, by law, does not allow capital punishment. Even if the guy feigns ignorance on this, he is inept at the very least. Governor Romney campaigned to add the death penalty in Mass.

The best moment of this day with Duck? When he said he made the (”high road”) decision to not run the ad but that he wanted to show it to the reporters so they supposedly would know he made the ad. He made that statement with a complete straight face as if he were serious. Then the entire audience burst out in complete spontaneous laughter and Duckabee stood there with a complete serious face. I totally expected him to burst into laughter himself. That was hilarious!

Carl Cameron, in one clip I saw, said this could end up as a genius move by Duck. If the people of Iowa don’t mind being played the fools by his camp, then maybe. There is a chance that Huckabee has attained “martyr” status in the minds of some in Iowa. If so, then there will be a sympathy following, but still I cannot imagine thinking people backing a person who touts his “Christian values” while his behavior is completely dishonest at best.

No, I think this will sink Huck’s life-raft. Iowans are not fools. Reporters of the MSM are not fools and I think they will turn on Huck. Until about two weeks ago, Huck has gotten a pass from the MSM. His presumptuous, manipulative, and cunning behavior to play all the reporters for fools will backfire. They will shred him in the next few days. Mark my words. It is over for Huckabee. He will get the martyr-sympathy vote, but that is it (credit to Jeff Fuller for this insight). Iowans are too smart to vote for this guy. I think we will see the media eat Huckabee alive over the next three plus days.

I wish I could be a fly on the wall in one of the Republican caucus meeting halls to hear the discussions among voters. Oh, how sweet it would be.

Here is how I would like the results to show three nights from now, in Iowa, on Thursday night:

— Romney: 44%
— Hunter: 18%
— Thompson: 9%
— Keyes: 8%
— Giuliani: 5%
— Paul: 5%
— McCain: 5%
— Tancredo: 4% (yes, he will still get votes)
— Duckabee: 2%

I gave Duckabee 4%, not because I think there are really dumb Iowans, but because I think 4% of the Republican voters of Iowa who liked Duckabee a month ago, will not have gotten the news from today.

IOWANS: Please remember that both Giuliani and McCain abandoned the Ames Straw Poll in August effectively telling you a) your straw poll does not matter, and b) we [McCain/Giuliani] don’t want you to have any of our campaign money for your economy.

Huckabee and Rudy made the Top 10…

…most wanted corrupt politicians.

Here’s what they say:

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-NY): Giuliani came under fire in late 2007 after it was discovered the former New York mayor’s office “billed obscure city agencies for tens of thousands of dollars in security expenses amassed during the time when he was beginning an extramarital relationship with future wife Judith Nathan in the Hamptons…” ABC News also reported that Giuliani provided Nathan with a police vehicle and a city driver at taxpayer expense. All of this news came on the heels of the federal indictment on corruption charges of Giuliani’s former Police Chief and business partner Bernard Kerik, who pleaded guilty in 2006 to accepting a $165,000 bribe in the form of renovations to his Bronx apartment from a construction company attempting to land city contracts.

Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR): Governor Huckabee enjoyed a meteoric rise in the polls in December 2007, which prompted a more thorough review of his ethics record. According to The Associated Press: “[Huckabee’s] career has also been colored by 14 ethics complaints and a volley of questions about his integrity, ranging from his management of campaign cash to his use of a nonprofit organization to subsidize his income to his destruction of state computer files on his way out of the governor’s office.” And what was Governor Huckabee’s response to these ethics allegations? Rather than cooperating with investigators, Huckabee sued the state ethics commission twice and attempted to shut the ethics process down.

I don’t know this group, but you can’t argue with what they’ve outlined above.

Huckabee Gifts: $3,695 Cowboy Boots

Duckabee

GREAT ARTICLE:

Huckabee’s tenure as governor saw many gifts bestowed upon Arkansas official — by JULIA MALONE — Cox News Service

Some Huckabee gifts:

•Custom-made cowboy boots, $3,695

•Use of fishing boat, $2,500 per year

•Gift certificate in 2001 from the governor’s Cabinet, $3,600

•Pendant for Janet Huckabee, $2,000

•Cashmere and fox cape for Janet Huckabee, $795

•Cuff links for governor, $2,000

•Bass guitar, $350

I’ll bet Mike Huckabee is salivating at the thought of getting into the White House. He should remember one thing — That every gift to a sitting President of the Unites States is a gift to the people and cannot be retained by the President. Good thing — ya think?

Mike Huckabee: “Blind Spot”, “Potential Ethical Time Bomb”, “Unearthed”, “Ethical Mishaps” — “What’s Next?”

December 21st, 2007 | 10 Comments | Posted in Corruption, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney

flag waving

What Strassel writes below only covers the few weeks Huckabee’s past has been vetted. What will come out in the general election if he were somehow nominated? This article is telling. Many millions of people will read Strassel’s article and that of Peggy Noonan below. Do we really want to take the chance on this person who wants to be President?

The entire article is absolutely excellent and I recommend you read it all.

Direct Link:

POTOMAC WATCH — Leap of Faith — Mike Huckabee and Little Rock ethics — BY KIMBERLEY A. STRASSEL — Friday, December 21, 2007

[emphasis below is mine]

As pigs in pokes go, the Democratic Party bought itself a big one in 1988. Michael Dukakis was relatively unknown . . . was a typecast liberal–a furlougher of felons, and a guy who looked mighty awkward in a tank.

Mr. Huckabee is starting to get a look-see by the press, though whether the nation will have time to absorb the findings before the primaries is just as unknown. The small amount that has been unearthed so far ought to have primary voters nervous. It isn’t just that Mr. Huckabee is far from a traditional conservative; he’s a potential ethical time bomb.

Most of this is out there, thoroughly documented, and even now slowly filtering its way to voters. Of more concern is what has not yet been discovered about Mr. Huckabee’s time as Arkansas lieutenant governor and governor, in particular on ethical issues. There are signs that Mr. Huckabee’s background–borne of the same Arkansas establishment that produced Bill Clinton–is ripe to provide the sort of pop-up political scandal that could derail a general election campaign.

In Arkansas, Mr. Huckabee was investigated by the state ethics committee at least 14 times. Most of the complaints centered on what appears to be a serial disregard for government rules about gifts and outside financial compensation. He reported $112,000 worth of gifts in one year alone, nearly double his $67,000 salary.

Five of the 14 investigations resulted in admonishments: Two for failing to report gifts (one was later overturned), the other three for some $80,000 that Mr. Huckabee and his wife received but failed to initially report. One of these admonishments involved a $23,500 payment to Mr. Huckabee from an opaque organization called Action America that he helped found in 1994 while lieutenant governor, and that was designed to coordinate his speeches and supplement his income.

huckabee-photo2.jpg

Mr. Huckabee caused an uproar when he used a $60,000 account intended to maintain the governor’s mansion for personal expenses, including restaurant meals, dry cleaning and boat supplies. He also faced a lawsuit over his assertion that $70,000 worth of furniture donated to the mansion was his to keep. Sprinkled among all this are complaints about the misuse of state planes and campaign funds, mistakes on financial disclosure forms, and fights over documents related to ethics investigations.

Any one of these episodes individually may appear penny ante, but they add up to a disturbing pattern. People I’ve spoken with who worked with Mr. Huckabee in Arkansas dispute the idea that he is “corrupt.” They instead ascribe his ethical mishaps to a “blind spot” rooted in his beginnings as a Baptist minister and a Southern culture of gift-giving; they suggest he never made the mental transition to public office.

Some will also argue Mr. Huckabee is no more ethically challenged than Mr. Giuliani . .

The obscure governor from Arkansas is, in contrast, a deep sea for media diving. Most recent have been stories about his pardons and commutations, as well as the news that R.J. Reynolds contributed to Action America. Mr. Huckabee–who now wants a national smoking ban in public places–responded that he never knew he accepted tobacco money, which has inspired a former adviser to claim Mr. Huckabee is being “less than truthful.” What’s next?

Huckabee’s Boom May Be About Ready to Bust

December 13th, 2007 | 6 Comments | Posted in Corruption, Disgust, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney

Many articles have recently highlighted Mike Huckabee’s tax-hikes, and lax crime record; but the MSM has failed to point out many of the examples of his lack of ethical standards. Margaret Carlson points out many examples of Huck’s lack of a moral backbone in her recent commentary.

Some of the good stuff:

In his first losing race for the U.S. Senate, against Dale Bumpers, Huckabee suggested that because Bumpers supported grants to the arts he was soft on pornography, Brantley wrote. He hasn’t backed off from his position that “carriers of the plague” of AIDS should be quarantined. He paid himself (as media consultant) and the family’s babysitter out of campaign funds, according to the reports.

Once in office, Huckabee set up a nonprofit entity so he could give paid “inspirational” speeches without having to disclose the donors. Until exposed by the Arkansas Times, Huckabee used the operating account for the governor’s mansion for personal expenses, charging the public for dry cleaning, his wife’s pantyhose, a doghouse and meals at Taco Bell.

Nine complaints were filed against Huckabee; five resulted in ethics commission sanctions.

Ms. Clinton, “The Evitable” / Giuliani’s Campaign Fatally Damaged?

In my adult life, I have tried very hard to reserve the use of the word outstanding for those rare, truly amazing situations. Forgive me for not truncating this post. This is one of those Op/Ed pieces that is nothing short of outstanding. Is there any doubt why President Reagan chose Peggy Noonan to be among his talented speech writers?

Click here to read Noonan’s column at the online source:

PEGGY NOONAN — Death, Taxes and Mrs. Clinton — Only two of them are inevitable — Friday, November 30, 2007

[emphasis is mine]

I will never forget that breathtaking moment when, in the CNN/YouTube debate earlier this fall, the woman from Ohio held up a picture and said, “Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Obama, Mr. Edwards, this is a human fetus. Given a few more months, it will be a baby you could hold in your arms. You all say you’re ‘for the children.’ I would ask you to look America in the eye and tell us how you can support laws to end this life. Thank you.”

They were momentarily nonplussed, then awkwardly struggled to answer, to regain lost high ground. One of them, John Edwards I think, finally criticizing the woman for being “manipulative,” using “hot images” and indulging in “the politics of personal destruction.” The woman then stood in the audience for her follow up. “I beg your pardon, but the literal politics of personal destruction–of destroying a person–is what you stand for.”

Oh, I wish I weren’t about to say, “Wait, that didn’t happen.” For of course it did not. Who of our media masters would allow a question so piercing on such a painful and politically incorrect subject?

I thought of this the other night when citizens who turned out to be partisans for Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Obama and Mr. Edwards asked the Republicans, in debate, would Jesus support the death penalty, do you believe every word of the Bible, and what does the Confederate flag mean to you?

It was a good debate, feisty and revealing. It’s not bad that the questions had a certain spin, and played on stereotypes of the GOP. It’s just bad that it doesn’t quite happen at Democratic debates. Somehow, there, an obscure restraint sets in on the part of news producers. Too bad. Running for most powerful person in the world is, among other things, an act of startling presumption. They all should be grilled, everyone, both sides. Winter voting approaches; may many chestnuts be roasted on an open fire.

In New York I find more and more people who think this week’s political scandal, Rudy Giuliani and the cost and means of payment of his visits to the Hamptons, following so closely the indictment of his former police commissioner, will fatally damage his candidacy. I don’t know. The specifics on both stories aside, I’m not sure scandal is what it used to be.

Two things are true in the modern media environment, and they collide with each other and may tend to cancel each other out. One is that a scandal makes its way around the world and into the bloodstream right away and with full force, through the Internet and cable. The other is that a lot of scandals have made their way around the world and into the bloodstream in the past 10 years. Immediacy and broad knowledge collide with sheer glut. Everyone has heard so much about so many. At some point, don’t voters start to see all of public life as one big polluted river? And if they do, don’t they stop saying things like “That’s a busted tire floating by” and “That’s an old shoe”? If they’re familiar with the principle, as Thoreau said, don’t they become less attentive to its numerous applications?

Add to that the fact that in the past decade, concurrent with the rise of new media, the Clintons perfected a new method of scandal management that starts with “These are lies spread by a partisan conspiracy,” proceeds to “That’s old news,” and ends a few years later, when detailed books come out, with “That’s rehash for cash.” This strategy is not a constructive contribution to our political culture, but it has worked in the new environment. They’ll teach it in political science media management courses in the future.

Mrs. Clinton is acting as if she’s scared. She insists to Katie Couric that she’s the next president–”It will be me”–and she’s back to using the language of aggression — there’s been a lot of “beat,” as in they’ve been trying to “beat me.” In the first 60 seconds of her Couric interview she used some variation on the word “attack” five times. If Mitt Romney talked like this, they’d be asking who put the Red Bull in his milkshake.

She continues her political kleptomania in terms of themes from the 1988 presidential campaign, which seems to preoccupy her. A few months ago she was saying she was born in the middle of America in the middle of the century, which is what George H.W. Bush said of Dan Quayle. She proceeded to call herself famous but unknown, which is what was said of Mr. Bush at the time. Now she calls herself ready from day one to be president. Old Bush’s tag line in his ‘88 commercials was “Ready on day one to be a great president.”

This is the first time she’s faced a real threat, in Barack Obama, and it’s left me thinking about how being The Inevitable is a high-risk game. You can get far being the inevitable choice. A lot of people will believe it and support you, especially the weak, and the pragmatic. They give you early support and early money. Others see the endorsements and contributions. Another level of giver and supporter kicks in. It starts to show in the national polls. Everyone knows you’re inevitable.

But there are two problems with this strategy. One is that your support is by definition broad but shallow. You have a lot of people, but they won’t crawl over broken glass for you. When I talk to Hillary supporters they mostly enact a facsimile of what they think passion is, and are reduced to a dulled aggression. “We’re gonna win.”

The second part of the inevitability problem is that once you seem no longer inevitable–once the polls stop rising or start to fall, once that air is out of the balloon and the thing that made everyone fall in line is gone–well, what do you do? If the main argument of your candidacy is you’re inevitable and suddenly you’re evitable, where does that leave you? What does it leave you with? Mere hunger. Insistence: “It will be me.”

And anger at this nobody who wasn’t even in the Senate when you took the big votes, this cream puff who was a functionary in Chicago when you were getting your head beaten in by Ken Starr. What does Mrs. Clinton do when she’s feeling angry? What has she done in the past? Goodness, this won’t be pretty.

Inevitable is a good game to play until it doesn’t work anymore. A while back I was speaking to a Democrat who supports Mrs. Clinton, and I mentioned in passing that Obama might win the nomination. “Nothing is written.” The Clinton supporter said, “Well I would love to support Obama if that happens.” It was a standard thing to say, and yet the Clintonite said it awful quick.

In any case, there’s something that comes like relief, like a boost, when politics turns out to be surprising, when the inevitable gets evitable, when the machine is slowed. It reminds you who really runs the place, that for all our mess it still comes down to the person in the precinct walking to the caucus site on ground that crunches from the cold. Here’s to surprise. It’s a great antidote to cynicism.

Ms. Noonan is a contributing editor of The Wall Street Journal and author of “John Paul the Great: Remembering a Spiritual Father” (Penguin, 2005), which you can order from the OpinionJournal bookstore. Her column appears Fridays on OpinionJournal.com.

Three to five times a week someone laments to me that Governor Romney is not being mentioned as much as other candidates in the media and somehow I am glad. He is on point with his strategy and working tirelessly to win all the early states. Let the talking heads opine all they want about the flavor of the month and to contribute to Ms. Clinton’s inevitability. She, along with the other Democrat candidates, will continue to use the presumptuous words, “When I am President . . . “ while Governor Romney uses the words at campaign stumps and other events, “If I am elected President by the people . . . ” Character does matter.

The Julie Aunnie for Judy Taxi Service, While Married Comments — The Value of Name Recognition?

Right about the time I was expecting to hear repeated the “teflon” label given Reagan, this news hits. I was driving home today and heard Hewitt break this news and callers saying RG will get over this little speed bump. I hurried home to post the story, parked the car, kissed my wife, ran to the computer, and SCOOPED! Ann Marie got it done! So at the ABC story, I decided to read the comments (150 now) and had to skip a bunch — there sure are a lot of vulgar people in this world! I copied over some of the more interesting of the comments below. First though, it appears (is alleged), that Giuliani,

1) Misappropriated NYC funds and resources for his personal use.
2) Provided significant city resources for his then publicly unknown mistress while at the same time providing the same services for the wife to whom he was married.
3) Used obscure city financial accounts to bury or divert the NYC Police expenses ostensibly to hide them.
4) Billed the city for hotel stays that had no official government purpose.

So what does all this mean? You decide. Does this revelation really matter to the race? Have we gotten to the point in America that with a nod and wink we can easily dismiss major moral and ethical indiscretions? To get you started, check out these comments from the ABC blog. What are your comments? Please leave one below:

so tell me………….when will Rudy REFUND the taxpayers of New York for his sexual escapades? Mr. 9/11 should donate every dime of the TENS-OF-MILLIONS made on speaking engagments off the backs of grieving New Yorkers………….This guy has no shame. Posted by: tomcat27834

Rudy had a duty not to squander NYC’s scarce public resources. It is shameful; among other destinations his creative bookkeepers found for these expenses were an agency that provides legal services to the indigent. He is very unpopular in NYC and I’ve no doubt that sources within the government will unearth other venal revelations. Posted by: AG

Apparently she was shopping for clothing for the cross-dressing Rudy Julie Annie. Posted by: Bill Hicks

and of course the new voice for the christian right supports him. pat (I never saw a corrupt person I didnt like) Roberston. Posted by: gary

Giuliani is done. Posted by: mikeVA

Giuliani is the typical New York politician. A crook. And he says he will cut the waste in Washington. Well, what’s going to happen when he gets bored with wife #3? Does mistress #4 get a secret service escort and a bullet proof car that comes with a police motorcade? You know, with the security concerns surrounding Giuliani, it might be a necessary expense!! Security concerns! I’m sick of these pols wasting my tax money. Romney, you have my vote!! Posted by: Spencer

Rudy believes we are all stupid and he can shrug this stuff off with an “I didn’t know anything about it”. If he didn’t know he is too careless and clueless to be President. And Kerik is only another part of this iceberg wreck. Follow the money and look at Rudik’s partner’s, lawsuits [Google], and you’ll fine more, more, more. He is patently dishonest and secretive and would continue to damage our country on every level possible. His dishonesty is spectacularly obvious. Posted by: morris1030

He needs to be confined in a room with a view. You know! JAIL Posted by: joe

I have tremendous and abiding faith in our form of government. America truly is the example in all the world of liberty, freedom, and hope. Corruption has always existed in various ways in this nation, hence the reason our founding parents devised checks and balances that work. One of those “checks” is a free press. Why a free press? For no other reason than to simply expose and reveal corruption among the powerful. It is that basic. Mr. Giuliani was granted power by the citizens of his city and he crossed the line many times in his abuse of power. Character does matter. This has nothing to do with mistakes or being too busy to see details or any of that. This is all about character and judgment. As I have said in this blog before, once Giuliani begins to spend his money to catch Governor Romney in the early states, it would be the beginning of the end of his campaign. That spending started this week. What was revealed today will only hasten the end for this man. There is still more to reveal. Name recognition will only carry you so far.

Rudy and Corruption

Check out this blog post at —–> ABC News’ The Blotter titled Out of Spotlight, Giuliani Embraces Convicted Moneyman…

Background:

A Pennsylvania man convicted in a notorious corruption case played host to former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani at a fundraiser last night, despite the Giuliani campaign’s public efforts to distance itself from the man.

Bob Asher, a major Pennsylvania Republican player as a national party committeeman, was one of four hosts for the $2,300-a-person event. Asher was convicted in 1986 on charges stemming from a bribery scheme intended to win a $300,000 state government contract. The case gained national attention when his co-defendant in the case, Pennsylvania state treasurer R. Budd Dwyer, committed suicide at a televised news conference. Asher was sentenced to serve one year in prison.

At that time, Giuliani was a federal prosecutor in New York, building a reputation by locking up criminals for similar corruption-related misdeeds.

Emphasis Above Added

This part is particularly telling:

Giuliani came and went from last night’s fundraiser without comment, ducking down in his car as ABC News cameras attempted to photograph him arriving.

Mr. Giuliani, why are you so afraid of appearing with one of your top fundraisers?

A Giuliani administration is likely to be rife with cronyism and criminality

Remembering that a vote for Mike, Fred, John, or Rudy…is a vote for Rudy, here is a glimpse of what we are setting ourselves up for with a Rudy candidacy (and ultimately Presidency).

First, here is a sobering story of Giuliani’s history of cronyism, elevating corrupt and incompetent loyalists to positions of power over his time as NYC mayor.

Second, here is an eye opening account of how Giuliani exploited the court system and activist judges to attack the 2nd amendment, defend sanctuary cities, keep taxes in place, and fight the line item veto.

Finally, here is the link to a couple videos which detail the sordid story of Alan Placa. Alan is a former priest and known child molester who also happens to be one of Giuliani’s best friends. Giuliani has protected Alan along the way and has even employed him at his firm Giuliani Partners.

If you are a Romney supporter, now is the time to act! there are only about two weeks before the first absentee ballots are potentially cast in New Hampshire, and the Iowa Caucuses will be upon us in less than six weeks! Donate, volunteer, talk with your family, friends, and co-workers. If we all get involved and work toward Mitt’s election it will definitely happen! (If you would like to help out but don’t know how to get involved, leave a comment and we’ll try to point you in the right direction).

If you are supporting anyone beside Romney, recognize that is de-facto support for Rudy. This primary is going to be won by either Rudy or Romney. If you have problems with Rudy’s liberal views on abortion, marriage, immigration, 2nd amendment, and taxation, please take another look at Mitt Romney and consider giving him your support. Any questions? Leave a comment and we’ll do our best to address it!
