I’m back…

Well Hello Everyone,

I know it’s been ages since I actually posted something on this website. Much has happened in the last year. I left Kentucky, and moved to Utah (the “land” Bountiful). I’ve also stayed much on the sidelines when it comes to politics. Making such a massive move is stressful and complicated. But now life has settled a bit. My kids are situated, we have their medical stuff set, and I’m very much at peace with life.

If I’m such at peace, then you might ask why I’m jumping back into this anything but peaceful rhelm of politics? The reason is, that despite my overall “apathy” with it, it still runs through my veins. No matter how hard I try to “compartmentalize” it, I can’t. I still come back to it. So, here I am. I plan to redesign the site, and get it going as strong as it ever was “back in the day”. I look forward to it’s success again. Stay tuned, great things are coming.

Love to you all,

Ann Marie

When I found out the truth about Mitt Romney…

Below is David MacKay’s first post for CommittedtoRomney.com. I asked David to become a contributor several days ago and this is his essay explaining why he supports Gov. Mitt Romney for President in 2012.

~~John Cronin~~

By: David MacKay

When I found out the truth about Mitt Romney… not only did I found out that his first name isn’t Mitt (its Willard BTW — but then again you already knew that right?), I found out that just about everything negative that I heard about him was flat out false. Not only that there was a lot of misinformation about Romney, I learned that there was an agenda or strategy if you will. As you learn more about politics you sadly learn that there isn’t a sincere interest for the welfare of America… only an interest in wealth and in power. Thankfully, there was another thing that I found out. I found out the about Mitt Romney.

The truth about MItt Romney is that he was hired to rescue the Olympics after the bribery scandal and was signed on as Governor of Massachusetts to save them from financial bankruptcy. He turned around the Olympics with a $379 million deficit and ended up clearing a $100 million dollar profit. He turned around the state of MA with a $3 Billion deficit and left the state with $700 million surplus.

He was also able to pass a Healthcare Reform Law which requires almost all MA residents to buy health insurance coverage inviting the private companies to compete amongst themselves for the costs of their premiums which presently is now covering more than 98% percent of their residents without increasing costs to it’s state. Not only this but when he worked for the private sector at Bain Capital he turned around plenty of ordinary companies into world known companies such as Staples and Dominoes Pizza. Now who in this world has done all that?

No wonder the Left felt so threatened by this impressive man. With that resume alone you got to wonder why in the world wouldn’t you want this man to be the president of this great nation. No other politician had ever received so many ill construed hit pieces from the media but the truth about Mitt Romney is that he has always been pro life at heart, of course he had to make a truce in Massachusetts about not changing the existing abortion laws as they were — how else might have he won as a Republican Governor in that state?

And when it came to making a decision between Pro Life and Pro Choice he always fell on the side of Life. Then the media went on to say that Romney was Pro Gay rights back in his failed bid in 1994… the truth is that back then Pro Gay rights meant equal opportunities in the work force and military.

The truth about Mitt Romney is that he would have won nomination if he had only been hit by the Democrats, but sadly he was tackled by the right also when McCain and Huckabee teamed up against him to bring a good man down — how else would have Romney lost. In spite of everything that was against him, Romney took full responsibility for his failed run for nomination and quickly put ill feelings behind him, endorsing all his delegates over to John McCain. Ever since Romney has been true to his word and has continued to support the conservative cause helping Republicans win their nominations everywhere. I have known few men with such integrity and I feel fortunate to know that he will most likely run again in 2012.

The truth is that we have the opportunity to elect Romney again in 2012, by building up the foundation or the grassroots in your home town. Every effort no matter how big or small is worth it in the end, because together we will most likely see this man elected again. As Mitt Romney has stated it himself, this isn’t about him… the truth is that it’s about having a Free and Strong America — a better place for you and for me.

SolidPrinciples.com: A New Voice in the Citizen’s Media

June 11th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Blogosphere, Conservatism, Mitt Romney, YouTube, comMITTedtoromney

We have all had the experience of sitting in front of the TV or clicking onto a news website and watching as the MSM either totally ignores or spins a story to suit their leftist agenda. Many of us have also said, man, I wish there was someway we conservatives could get our message out there without having it pass through the traditional media’s filter.

There are, of course, some very good news organizations out there, who do give voice to conservatives, FOXNEWS, THE WALL ST. JOURNAL, NRO, IBD, TOWNHALL and others, but they can’t be everywhere and sometimes we find ourselves right in the middle of a story with our trusty mini DV camera at the ready. Those of us who contribute to political blogs have the latitude to cover stories that are not being followed by even the conservative outlets and to give voice to those voters who never get a chance to let their opinions be heard outside of the voting booth and then only every four years.

You may know that Craig Edwards and myself have started a podcast in April of this year that is on the CommittedtoRomney site. We have covered a wide range of subjects and the reception we have received has been very encouraging, but recently we found that we needed to find a different approach, something that would allow us to appeal to a wider spectrum of potential interviewees.

Several weeks ago Craig approached the two economists that he did the recent podcast interviews with and when he identified himself as a contributor to CTR, he was turned down for the interview.

Since the subject matter has by necessity widened way beyond promoting Gov. Romney for President, we thought we would create much more flexibility by creating a site that was a generic conservative blog and not specifically pro Romney.

Subsequent events have proven that to be the case. Some of the people that declined Craig’s first invitations to be interviewed on a Romney site have now said that they would be open to an interview with SOLIDPRINCIPLES.COM

When we find a news item that is centered on Gov. Romney, we will do the pod cast here at COMMITTEDTOROMNEY.COM and we will continue the Romney centered blog commentary here as well.

As you know, the Romney blogosphere is thriving as are Mitt’s Presidential prospects. NYforMitt is growing in the perception as one of the top Romney blogs, Bill Kuchman’s “Tick, Tick, Tick Mitt” YouTube video is one of the best in your face productions that I have seen, Planet Romney is loaded with new blog articles and even the MSM is acknowledging that Romney is the top GOP Presidential contender for 2012.

So, everyone fasten you seatbelts, it’s gonna be a wild ride from now to 2010 and 2012.

Open Forum for Links to Articles and Polls

Here is an open forum for our readers to provide links to Romney polls to vote in and to provide links to pro Romney articles and anything else that you feel will help to promote a Mitt Romney candidacy in 2012!

Several of our readers suggested this forum because so many good links were being “lost” on the chatbox because at times the traffic is so heavy there.

I’ll put this post up every Monday morning for our readers convenience, so everybody, please feel free to post any helpful links that you come across.

Media Alert: John Cronin to Contribute to NY for Mitt Website

March 4th, 2009 | 9 Comments | Posted in Mitt Romney, comMITTedtoromney

I wanted to give our regular readers and commenters the heads up that I will now be contributing to NY for Mitt. In an effort to avoid merely “preaching to the choir” I will be helping to give the good folks on the east coast a different perspective on the important issues of these difficult times we live in, a much more conservative perspective that the one they get from the New York Times and the Washington Post.

As all of you know, NY for Mitt is an excellent site and I am excited about the opportunity to post there. It will probably take me a few days to get up to speed on their site’s protocols, so if you don’t see anything there from me for a day or so, it’s just that I am familiarizing myself with the site.

I will continue to post here, of course, but I wanted to let everybody know about my posting over there so that we can have as much fun there as we have had and continue to have here.

Have a great day, stay clicked to CTR and NYforMitt and let’s get Mitt Romney elected President in 2012!!!

RNC Chairman Michael Steele Delivers Weekly Republican Address

February 7th, 2009 | 2 Comments | Posted in Michael Steele, Mitt Romney, RNC Chair, comMITTedtoromney

Michael, “The Man of Steele”, has come out of the blocks very fast and has already made a road trip to three states where he thinks the Dems are most vulnerable and now he has up and running what he calls the RNC eCampaign, a weekly email contact with the party’s foot soldiers. I can feel a new excitement within the ranks of the Party and it looks like Michael Steele’s election as the new head of the RNC was an out of the park homerun.

I would like to embed his weekly videos here, because this site is becoming a hotbed for the resurgence of the “Republican Wing of the Republican Party.”

Kudos to everyone of our commenters on this site who have joined their local Republican organizations, provided links to videos and articles and who have been so active on the chatbox, which has contributed greatly to the sense of community. I feel a palpable sense of positive momentum here and I want to express my thanks to all of you and the wonderful job you have done as grassroots activists.

Mitt Romney 2012 Bring America Back

If you are a Mitthead like all of us at CommittedToRomney are, boy, do I have a YouTube video for you!

Just came across this video a few minutes ago and knew I had to post it as quick as I can get it on the site. I also have the names of three of our regular commenters in mind as I get ready to post this. Unless I miss my bet, these folks will be in tears as they view the video. Not that it’s subject matter is at all sad, I just know these three.

The video sums up how we feel as grassroots activists as we start advance preparations for 2012. Enjoy!

Are You Ready for Some Chatbox?

I wanted to adapt the line from Hank Williams Jr.’s NFL commercial from some time ago when he said: “Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?”

For our purposes tonight maybe we can ask: “Are you ready for some CHATBOX?”

If the chatbox gets too hectic, please post your thoughts on Inauguration Night in the comments section of this post.

Have fun with this and thanks for visiting the #2 Romney site on the Web.

Family Business

Since the end of the 2008 election, there has been much hand-wringing in various quarters over whether or not Mitt Romney will ever run for the Presidency again. The article below is very lengthy, covering several of the big family names in American politics, so I excerpted just the part that pertained to Gov. Romney. I can tell you, from the internet chatter that I see, it is generally accepted as a given that Mitt will run again in 2012.

I’ll grant you that, especially in hard left circles, the prospect of another Romney run in 2012 is as welcome as the news from your dentist that you need a root canal. Be that as it may, although nothing can be guaranteed this far in advance and we will of course have to wait for Gov. Romney to declare his intentions, one way or the other, my own personal opinion is that Gov. Romney enjoys the blood sport of politics and relishes the thought of getting back in the game in 2012.

If that is what he and his family decide, we here at Committed to Romney will re-start the campaign with glee and abandon!

Postmodern Conservative

By: James Ceaser

While 2012 is far off, at least one scion is already prominently mentioned as a presidential contender: Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, made a credible bid at the Republican nomination in 2008, and is widely expected to run again. His father, George Romney, first achieved fame as chief executive of the now-defunct American Motors, and parlayed his CEO reputation into six years as governor of Michigan. He sought the Republican presidential nomination in 1968, until a gaffe made him a national laughingstock (he said that a trip to Vietnam had given him a “brainwashing”). His son Mitt followed in his father’s path, building a successful business career before entering politics and mounting a losing but respectable challenge to Senator Edward Kennedy. Romney then burnished his managerial reputation by taking over the administration of the troubled 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. He returned to Massachusetts to be elected governor, where he began a shift to the right, which continued during his bid for the Republican nomination last year. Mitt Romney shows many of his clan’s more positive attributes - good looks, a knack for business (an asset in troubled economic times), a large personal fortune, an appealing family — but it remains to be seen whether his devotion to Mormonism will serve as an obstacle, now more to those on the Left than evangelicals, to his further ambitions.
