Gingrich is a good guy, and unless he has some personal beef with Romney, I think a lot of his supporters will swing this way (especially with an endorsement) since I don’t see him running for public office (as much as I’d like to see it.) The big challenge remaining, then, is getting half or more of the Palin-ites to switch to Romney (assuming she doesn’t run. If she does, that will create some fireworks…) Then Mitt’s in like Flynn!

I am looking forward to Mitt’s next op-ed, hopefully he will channel a lot of Reagan too. I would also like to see more fox news appearances as well, have not seen much of him lately.

As we have discussed from time to time over the past year, this is exactly what Mitt needs. Palin and Huckabee have most likely split the evangelical/antimormon vote. I’m not a big fan of GinGrinch. Hope you’re right Andrew but I wouldn’t count on him supporting Romney even if things don’t work out for him.

Jon, one more concern that I have is that Mitt is still being characterized on blogs like Townhall and several others as a RINO. What should be done? I am a Reagan conservative am really surprised by this. While I like Palin, I do not feel her ready to be the leader for the 2012 race. People may forget Romney led in Florida until RINO Crist came out for McCain just before the primary here.

If they call Romney a RINO say something like this:
“In 2008 Romney was the electable conservative alternative to “RINO McCain” and got the endorsement of essentially all of coservative talk radio hosts (Rush, Levin, Ingraham, Hannity . . . ) Now Romney’s the “RINO” in 2012? Will the GOP continue to push the conservative bar so far towards the right that it shrinks, withers, and dies by it’s own doing?”

That Mitt is a Rino is foolish. That he has only the economy behind him is foolish. Mitt’s moral fiber is far above most. His faith, he lives, never heard him say bigoted remarks. His passion is quiet, conservative , but strong and refreshing. His DNA spells President…..2012….

Many people that call Romney a RINO typically have a hidden agenda. Either they don’t like Romney because he’s wealthy and successful or because he’s LDS or because he’s just another “white male” (NYT columnist Maureen Dowd seems to think the world no longer needs white men). While the people of the United States have elected a man that has done no more than work as a community organizer and deliver some soaring rhetoric, they have failed to take experience into account. Romney’s experience as a businessman, as a governor (who worked with the opposition) and turning around the Olympics speaks for itself.
Those that criticize Mitt for being too “stiff” are more concerned with style over substance. Unfortunately, right now we have that in the white house, and they’re running this country into the ground with “style.” Something they HAVE done right is (finally) push for GM to file for bankruptcy. Now who was pushing for that long before anyone else? MITT ROMNEY! We can only imagine what a different position this country would be if Romney, with his govt experience and business acument, was at the helm.

sorry, I meant business acumen

Thanks for the input. Another thing in today’s news is that “the ONE” is finally losing ground with his democratic base. Not counting the die hard liberals but the conservative dems will have a candidate in Romney to support like they did in 1980 with Reagan.
