Rasmussen: Kerry up 32 on Beatty

October 18th, 2008 Posted in Congress, Democratics, Jeff Beatty, John McCain

Bad news from the Rasmussen polling organization on Jeff Beatty’s bid to unseat Uber Liberal John Kerry.

Even if Kerry wins by a significant margin, the Beatty campaign will have succeeded in lifting their candidate’s profile for a future run. If this election goes heavily Democratic, it will be more important than ever for Republicans to do everything in our power to put the brakes on the Left’s quest to silence conservative speech, sweep away what few controls exist on abortion, to fund radical organizations like Planned Parenthood and ACORN with tax payer money, to institute government run health care and to add more layers of taxation to the already heavy burden being borne by middle class Americans and small businesses alike.

I hope Sen. McCain can pull off a miracle in the general election and act as a counter balance to what now appears to be a future Democratic Super Majority.

U.S. Sen. John Kerry continues to carry a significant lead over Republican challenger Jeff Beatty, the latest poll from Rasmussen Reports shows.
According to the survey of 500 likely voters, Kerry leads Beatty 63 percent to 31 percent. One percent of respondents answered “other” and 5 percent were undecided.

In the last Rasmussen poll, taken at the end of September, Kerry was up 35 points over Beatty, 65 percent to 30 percent.

Sixty-five percent of respondents viewed Kerry very or somewhat favorably, compared to 34 percent for Beatty.

The two shared similar unfavorability ratings, though, with 34 percent viewing Kerry somewhat or very unfavorably compared to 35 percent for Beatty. Beatty has still yet to break through to voters with his message, however, as 31 percent said they are not sure how they view him.

There was a margin of error of 4.5 percent on the poll.

We really could have a terrible mess on our hands if Obama wins. The unconsidered consequence of all the voter fraud is that the local elections will be lost as well as the general having an exponential effect on the damage.

  2. John Cronin Says:

    Eric,

    Good point. Sad, but true.

  3. EVELIO PEREZ Says:

Hard to come back from a 32 point deficit, maybe Romney could have beaten him.

  4. SED Says:

Beatty will probably lose this go around.

HOWEVER, if Obama wins there are strong rumors that Kerry will be in his cabinet as Secretary of State. Beatty might have a chance with an unknown Democrat.

Beatty right now appears to be running as the generic GOP candidate in the race against a well known incumbant. He also doesn’t have enough money to get his message out. Kerry has a war chest of over $10 million and spent the entire summer running ad’s on how much he has done for war vets. Meanwhile, Beatty has been pretty non-existant and hasn’t garnered any support from Mitt, whom supported Oganowski in the primaries. The Free and Strong America PAC has not even endorsed him from the last time I looked.

Here’s someone pulling for Kerry to be in the Obama administration.

  6. SED Says:

Barack Obama raised $150 million for the month of September!!!

This is now coupled with the 100,000 person rally in St. Louis, MO a swing state and the likelihood that even West Virginia is also turning blue.

With only 16 days to go; I have absolutely no doubt this will be the largest blowout against a republican we have seen in decades. None.

got your food storage in? its going to be a long winter.

  8. SED Says:

I’m wondering what to do if and when President Obama has those unconditional talks with Iran and they get the bomb anyway.

  9. Chris Says:

Brent. 4 years of winter in America. We can do it. We just have to work togeter to get some of the process changed. Starting with making sure that religion never has impact on who is a viable candidate or not. Then, moving on to the great state of Iowa, who has too much pull in who is president and who is not. I’d be for a regional primary. One a month for 4 months.

  10. SED Says:

I agree with the regional primary system. This years were a debacle.
after Mitt lost in Iowa he had a week to pack up and start campaigning in New Hampshire, a week after that Michigan, and so on. The current system is a dis-service to the entire nominating process and places to much weight on the first few states.

If and when Mitt runs again; he should forget Iowa and focus on New Hampshire. The evangelical vote will got Palin.

  11. Chris Says:

Sad, right Sed? to sad that they can’t see a good man because they disagree on a few points of theology. I say put Iowa back in June or even July! They get to go last now.

  12. SED Says:

It is sad to know that the party of freedom is filled with religious bigots.

I was raised a Roman Catholic. I don’t know anything about the Morman religion. Nor do I care. As long as the person shares the same values as myself; there are no qualms on that issue alone in regards to my possible support for that candidate.

Religious bigotry may still be an issue for some in 4 years. However, I’m counting on the outrage against liberal policies that have been proven failures to launch Mitt into the nomination. There is no one more qualified than Mitt Romney. No one that I’ve heard of anyway.

  13. SED Says:

The Salt Lake Tribune has endorsed Barack Obama for POTUS. They give a scathing rebuke of John McCain and Sarah Palinn. They call Palin an “ethically challenged” choice for VP. The Tribune called for Mitt Romney to be the pick.

Chris, can you tell me if the Salt Lake Tribune is a conservative paper?

  14. 2thePoint Says:

Hi,SED! The Salt Lake Tribune is NOT a conservative newspaper.

John Cronin has been a stalwart conservative voice on their Trib Talk blog. Chris, Karen, and Mitt 10? could shed some insight, as well.

  15. Tracey Says:

Nope. The Tribune is not conservative and they would be all over Romney right now if he were the VP.

I am surprised to hear that they said Romney should be VP.

Utah is Red, SLC is a little more liberal than the surrounding areas.

I heard Colin Powell say that Republicans were saying that O was a Muslim. Powell basically said the Republicans should not pick people based on their religion or reject them. I thought that was interesting. O is a Christian.

Powell also said that Palin was unqualified to be VP. I wonder what he is basing his opinion since the same argument could be made against O. I will have to watch Meet the Press.

Powell announcement could give Obama a big lead.

  16. Karen Says:

NO, the Trib is NOT a conservative newspaper… IT is anything but. They go out or their way all too often to spark controversary. It is probably what is behind this latest move. Plus, there is a movement here to push UTAH more into the Dem/lib corner. Some here cannot tolerate that Utah is highly republican/conservative. It is too much and they see as their duty to help conservatives here become much more liberal. They pick at the LDS church and any other institution that is teaching good principles… In short, they are in the tank with those that want to change the overall values of ethics and morality that have made America the great country that she is… K

  17. Tracey Says:

Karen- It always amazes me that they pick at the LDS church. If it were not for the LDS church and all they have done to keep SLC up and running, our downtown would be over ridden with gangs.

I am meeting you at Raphaels near Walmart tomorrow at 1:45.

    See you there.

  18. Chris Says:

I do agree with Powell. I don’t think he’s the kind of man that would come by this decision lightly. He is right. Palin is NOT qualified to be veep. It’s hard for them to get it. McCain took a gamble and LOST. I have heard many, many so called GOP’s calling Obama a Muslim, a terrorist, etc. I’m not looking forward to the next 2-4 years, but it might right the ship.

Oh, and the TRIB is NOT conservative! For that, you need to go to the DeseretNews.

  19. Chris Says:

Karen, the way I can help conservatives remain conservatives, it to put us out in the woodshed for a season.

  20. 2thePoint Says:

    Good Monday morning, all.

Well, we’re 15 days out and I’m counting every “elephantus steppus.” While the Obama donkey continues to feed at the aCORN trough, McCain seems to have the GOP pachyderm slowly plodding up a poll or two. I’m tugging on the tusks ‘til the end of the trail!

    SMILE (or cry) ALERT!
