IDAHO STATESMAN

Former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Friday that he will campaign in two Idaho cities Oct. 1 in support of Senate candidate Jim Risch.

“Jim and I were governors together, and I have seen how hard he works for Idaho,” said Romney, honorary chairman of the Free and Strong America PAC. “Jim and I stand together on many issues including the economy, lowering taxes and protecting family values.”

Romney will appear at a 12:30 p.m. fund-raising lunch in Boise, location to be determined. Later in the day, he will address a 5 p.m. roundtable of business leaders in Idaho Falls at Riverbend Ranch, followed by a rally that will be free and open to the public.

Risch faces Democrat Larry LaRocco, Libertarian Kent Marmon and independents Rex Rammell and Pro-Life in the contest to replace Larry Craig in the U.S. Senate.
