Say what?!

Lest we forget amid the Palin-mania going on, there is a Democratic candidate in this race named Barack Obama. Click here to learn a bit about his parents. (trust me on this, it’s worth at least 3.5 chuckles)

She says the right things as well.

Cindy McCain has to be careful. John has a history of dumping his current wife for beauty pageant contestants.

Presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin just announced that her 17 year old, unmarried daughter is 5 months pregnant, hmmmmmm. But she did note that her daughter is going to marry the father. I like Gov. Palin, but she is going to be bringing baggage. I’m not trying to knitpick, but hmmmmmm. “NO MITT - NO MONEY”

KENNEDY CANT SAY OBAMA’S NAME
September 1st, 2008 at 3:48 pm
Anybody read Mitt’s “I probably won’t run again” statement? Ugh. Not that I blame him but I hope if we lose this thing to Obama/Biden he changes his mind.
September 1st, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Yes, bigmo. I read it and felt like I’d swallowed a lead history book. But, it’s a smart thing to say if Mitt plans on staying heavily involved in the party and doesn’t want his every move analyzed as positioning himself for POTUS.

Here is a link to an article regarding Mitt not wanting a cabinet position with McCain.

All meaningless–what would happen if he was quoted as saying “Yes, I plan on running in 2012″, or, “I’d love to have a cabinet position’? Wouldn’t they have a field day with that?
September 1st, 2008 at 6:28 pm
SED, that was a good read. Thank you. I hope Romney devotes a little time to recouping his 40 mil. Let the country suffer a gasping economy because - well you all know why. There are too many ignorant, self-serving people in power.
Dopes. All dopes.

Charles Lindbergh said some great words that apply to Romney:
“Success is not measured by what a man accomplishes, but by the opposition he has encountered and the courage with which he has maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds.”
Looking forward to Mitt’s speech.

I hope when he delivers it he gets a 5 minute standing ovation. A true sign of support would be only fitting for everything he has done.
September 1st, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Does anyone know the exact time of his speech?

Hi, Karen,
The Convention site has taken off the original schedules for each day this week and posted a banner which reads: Check back for revised schedule information.
Gustav reached right in and shook things up!

Just heard Greta VanSustern interview Huckabee and she implied that Huckabee would soon have his own show. He affirmed and she said she wanted to be a guest; he agreed.
Duh.

Did I miss John and Ann Marie’s report on the rally?
September 2nd, 2008 at 4:54 am
Hi, Paulee - John posted a few comments on the “Bill O’Reilly Touting Mitt Romney” post. We haven’t yet heard from Ann Marie.
Hope you enjoyed your long weekend with your guests.
I’m looking forward to the Convention today and hearing what the speakers have to say. I’m sure Mitt will have a few more interviews as the week progreses, as well.

2thepoint: I left you a comment on one of the other posts. I don’t know if I can stand feeling so heartbroken for Mitt. I’m worried for Mitt. I hear he may not ever run for Pres. and he is too qualified for a cabinet position. I wish he could be Senator of Utah. They love him, and what an impact he could make in Congress, am I wrong, what do you think????? I’m searching for answers, can’t stand this place we are in…….. Now, oil is dropping, that’s so we won’t drill. We need to go forward just the same, it’s a headfake. Time for follow through,, not just lip service, ya think? The guy Mccain really waited for VP was Lieberman. Mitt never had a chance, only with us and others out of the good ole boy network. Let’s make lemonade! I’ll be watching the convention with a cautious eye.
September 2nd, 2008 at 5:51 am
Paulee, your thoughts are the same thoughts that are swirling in many of our heads. I like your “let’s make lemonade” attitude because I believe that is Romney’s attitude. I left a link on another post that characterized Mitt as “the golden retriever of the GOP.” He has been so untiring and steadfast as he campaigned for McCain and America.
The way he sounded on the Bill Hemmer interview yesterday leads me to believe he’ll probably do something surprising. He definitely does NOT want a Cabinet position. Romney thrives on getting things done - results-oriented. A senatorial position may be too plodding for him.
I just have to believe that God didn’t place Mitt Romney on this earth, in the good ol’ U.S.A., at this time, for no reason.

Thanks, I was settling in, but all of a sudden I’m very offended by this whole mess. I hope your right. I hope Mitt comes out smelling like a rose! Forget these sheep. Mitt’s a leader, they hate it. They don’t want him to show them up as he’s done. God has to have great plans for him, I hope so.Please pass on his speaking time to us, If I hear I’ll pass it on. Mccain should be ashamed of himself!!!!! If he does not give Mitt prime time, how nasty.

Paulee, 2tp and everyone:
So, do you remember the Biblical story of Esther? She was destined for greatness. The comment her Uncle made to her was this: “Who knoweth whether thou art come to the Kingdom for such a time as this”. (Esther 4:14 KJV)
That is how I see our Mitt. Who knows what God has in store for him, but I agree 2tp; God didn’t place Mitt here at this time for nothing. This is the test of our faith right here. We thought it would be defending him against the nasty barbs of his adversaries as the vp candidate… nay, not so. It is accepting this and still standing by him remaining true and faithful to the knowledge we all carry in our hearts and minds that God loves this country very much.
Because He does love us and Mitt and a nation full of misdirected people, He will try very hard to bless her. That is why we may have to step over it all and keep doing whatever we have to to bless America. Obame is a no for me. Cannot give even the slightest opportunity for him to be in the WH. Pro-infanticide, completely against traditional marriage between a man and a woman, fiscally a mess and the biggest flip-flopper around. He is friends with terrorists and American haters… he sometimes seems to fall into that last catagory himself. No, I do not beleive such a person deserves to be in the WH..
So, I keep praying. Praying for direction on how to feel and how to vote. So far the answer to my prayers is that God is at the helm and I need to wait until closer to voting time and see how this whole thing plays out. God says to me “doubt not, fear not and know that I am God” So, I have no choice. I shall doubt HIM not, I shall not live in fear and I shall retain my very firm knowledge that God is at the helm and knows very well what America needs.
I think Mitt is taught to trust God too. I think he is a mighty and spiritual person. He knows how to listen to God. I dare say in this mix of players, he is the most spiritual and close to God. He is the one who has lived the commandments and has spiritually prospered for it. We are all gonna be ok…

Evileo, It’s the elephant in the room. On other ‘blogs’ some from the not to be named army are touting what a wonderful thing this is that this 17 yr old with her boyfriend, not only plan on getting married (after baby, I assume, so they can marry in the Whitehouse gardedn.. Slap, slap, slap) but she’s keeping her baby. The HA’s are trying to convince me of what an shining example this is to your young women. I’m waiting for them to have HA quilting frolics to make this kid baby blankets to show them how much they admire her.
Double Standard, anyone?
Uhhhh. Where do I start on this one? I am PRAYING that Ms. Palin recuses herself on Wednesday night, and tells me that she has family obligations that will be taking her time and talents for the next few years. I’m sure had Mac even attempted to vet his woman, this would have come out.
September 2nd, 2008 at 8:03 am
Hey! Can I be a guest on the Bozo show with Huckles the Clown? I’ve a few questions for him.
1. When are your going to tell your ‘army’ that Mitt is a Christian? I mean, you claim to be good friends with sooo many mormons, that surley you’ve learned from them that they are?
2. When are you going to release your statements from the Anti-mormon convention in SLC?
3. When are you going to release your sermons, so we might search on all the anti-mormon garbage you spew and encourage your followers to spew.
4. Will you announce right here, right now you are NOT seeing high office, now that you have a real paid gig for the first time?

Why doesent Mitt have a prime time speaking slot?
Becuse they only have so much time. and heaven forbid the country see’s a standing 0 for more than 5 minutes. Buyer remorse…

Karen; Our spiritual grounded life saver. Karen, you are just too good for words. There has to be more to this story. I so wish we truly knew Mitt’s true feelings to date.It kills me, not knowing if he and family are okay. What his plans truly are???? Got to go paint, bet I’ll get alot done. I can really move when I’m in a state of flux. Fond regards

Karen, enjoyed reading your comments. I’ve always loved Esther’s example.
