If you ever looked a picture of Romney and McCain side-by-side, you should have guessed that Romney would not get the call. Considering the big egos that most senators have, Romney is taller, better looking, has more expertise and has done more than 10 senators combined. No way a president would want to shown up by his vice president.

I thought McCain said his first consideration would be who could step in as President if needed. So much for that...I wonder how she'll do against Biden in the debate. Does she have any foreign policy or economic experience whatsoever?

I don't think you could possibly be Vice President and be a good mom to young kids at the same time. There aren't enough hours in the day for both.

I have little respect for her, if it is her. Family first. I guess i your of a certain religious persuasion, you can get away with putting your family on the back burner.

I'll not vote for this ticket. Let's show them the door.

Would you as a mom put your kids through that? DS kids are most likely born with a host of other problems.. not the least of which is a hole in their heart. What about when it is time for surgery? What about all the other needs that are greater than a child without special needs??? What about when her baby is having a crisis and John McCain is too? What then? Who takes over? argh!

I definitely think it is still Mitt. I do hate that the media is playing up the female thing, if it isnt Sarah.

If it is Mitt....
I think the Republicans would win in November
Mitt will then run for President in 4 years. I dont think McCain would run for a second term. HA But ya never know with McCain. Mitt could be running against Hill or BO next time.
Sarah could pick Sarah for VP when he runs for President.
or
If it isnt Mitt....
Republicans have less chance of winning the election.
Mitt will run for president in 4 years
Sarah would probably be running against him, if she is the VP pick this time. If the Republicans win this time, she would probably be hard to beat in the primaries. If Republicans lose this year, she would be easy to beat.
(COULD WE HAVE 2 FEMALES RUNNING FOR PRES AT THE SAME TIME IN THE FUTURE -> Sarah vs Hill)
Could McCain possibly have a position for Mitt in the White House? Mitt could spend the next 4 years building up is so-called brand even more. I may be wrong. But, didnt Reagan do that?

Just thinking out loud.. sorry
I really just think it is Mitt Romney for VP!!!!!!!!

I'm a woman and it ticks me off too, if it is her that is. Plus it make me lose respect for her a great deal. I work with kids with disabilities and they need their mom. The world does not need their mom. TO me it would be a gratuitous pick and an unwise choice.

Palin was actually a pretty clever choice. You can't get too angry that he tossed Mitt overboard, when he has gone a chosen a woman. Politically, its brilliant, and it doesn't diminish Romney's luster.

Perhaps Mccain had a secret meeting with all VP candidates where a carefully orchestrated and elaborate headfake operation in the final hours was planned? Is this a possibility? If so, what would be the objective? Or am I just going crazy?

I read that "two Republicans familiar with Mitt's schedule said he won't be in Dayton." That doesn't sound too concrete to me.

I can't believe it would be a darkhorse, and I can't believe McCain would squander all the exposure Mitt Romney has gotten, both in the primaries, and since, on McCain's behalf.
