IT’S ROMNEY!!!! e-Traders have just dumped on Pawley, down 63 points in the last 15 minuets! Mitt UP 60 points in the same time frame! CELEBRATE ALL!!!!

  2. John Says:

I just got a call saying that it is not Romney. It will be the Gov. from Alaska. Shows poor judgement by McCain. America gets what it gets now. Let’s keep our passion for Romney and leave no doubt in 2012!

  3. Sarah Says:

We Mittens just might be disappointed again and watch our candidate have to endorse the ticket. Mitt just shows class time and again. He is such a hard worker. I can’t believe this! I just can’t! Anyone else want to grab a corner and cry?

  4. Sarah Says:

Does anyone else though think about 1976 election (if I got the year right…I am tired and sleep deprived) when they see this election…Ronald Reagan and Ford…and Ford didn’t pick Reagan and Ford lost. McCain will loose if he picks this choice…this will give him him what a 2% bump if any and then its a drop in funds and polls.

Selecting Palin would be a little too transparent. It nullifies all the great zingers the McCain campaign has been successfully piling on Obama as Palin is as weak as Pawlenty in the experience category, and is a thinly veiled attempt to woo disaffected Clinton supporters. (Does McCain think they are dumb? Hillary’s following won’t support just any woman, but one with the perceived experience to be president).

And are Alaska’s electoral votes really in play/significant/important?

Not the best choice. Not even close.

Remember, this is a test of good judgment… Clock’s ticking.

    Palin

ABC says she’s still in Alaska. Nevermind. Scarborough is convinced it’s Lieberman. That would be McCain-like. I only buy it because I think McCain wants to take back the ‘maverick’ label. Like I said yesterday though, I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s a surprise someone we’re not talking about. Because that seems McCain

  7. Tammy Says:

If McCain thinks he’s going to get Hillary’s voters if he picks a woman for VP, he’s mistaken. Right now they’re mad because Hillary wasn’t chosen, but by November they’ll remember that they are Democrats.

  8. John Cronin Says:

    Sarah,

I have thought about the analogies between 1976 and 2008 ever since Romney withdrew from the race in February.

I have posted on this several times. If McCain has had a stupid attack and picks a loser for VP, then I will keep working for a Romney candidacy in 2012.

    Bzzzzzpt! Game over.

I’m not enthused by this at all, but unlike most, I base my presidential and vice presidential selections on qualities like “credibility, good ideas, sound judgment, experience”.

Maverick picks another maverick. That may be a feel good emotional choice, and may well lead to a nice bounce and garner support from a lot of groups without alienating any others, but now I’m faced with choosing between dumb and dumber on most issues that I care most about. I’m most discouraged that McCain can’t credibly go after Obama’s lack of experience any more, and that was the most viable narrative of the last month (which also drew down Obama’s poll numbers and star wattage like nothing else).

    Drat!
