This Isn’t About Race???

Obama keeps saying this isn’t about race (although he plays the race card mighty well…i.e. funny name, picture on money not the same, etc comments)…but, what the heck? Charles Barkley always talked about running for Gov. of Alabama as a REPUBLICAN, so why in the world is he in Denver? Just listen to him talk.
[Update: Barkley apparently “defected” from the Republican Party…I guess I haven’t kept up with him enough lol See: Charles Barkley: “I Was a Republican Until They Lost Their Minds”

Charles was a Republican until an African-American ran for president. Thats the truth!

Barley asks us to “face it” that some people will not vote for Obama simply because he is black. Obviously that is true since the word “some” includes 2 or more voters. On the other hand, what the left in America needs to understand, and to “face” itself is this unspoken fact: MORE people will vote FOR Obama simply because he is black, without any reference to his qualifications. Racism has been a terrible problem in this country. But racism is not a whites only thing and racial bias exists in the black community just as strong as it ever did in the white community. Ask me how I know.

You are all remembering the quote from about 10 years ago where Barkley responded to a reporters who asked if he wasn’t a Democrat with “Hey I’m rich, now I’m a Republican” or words to that effect. His answer in the Jay Leno interview is consistent with that. People assumed that because he acted like a Republican, that he was. But did he really?
His “departure” is no real loss for the Grand Old Party.

I love Charles Barkley as an NBA commentator on TNT… in fact, he’s dang right funny. But other than that… HE is the idiot!! He is a racist and has some very stupid ideas.
I remember when he was still an NBA star he told everyone that he didn’t want to be a role model for their kids… something like that. Anyway, I’m not sad at all that he’s left the Republican party LOL

What is the “race card”? From my perspective many voters are unaware of the history, the recent history of the “black codes” and many voters are unaware of how entrenched the memes of old behaviors toward women and people of color really are. I was always sure that Mitt understood the need to change those behaviors. So, I would recommend caution and temperimg comments on the “race card”.
