Volunteers For Victory
I wanted to take some time to encourage everyone of the readers of CommittedToRomney to volunteer their time to their local Republican organizations for the work that needs to be done to insure that we keep the White House in conservative hands.
All of us at this site are confirmed political junkies. That is a confirmed fact. We are all knowledgeable and we understand the political process, much more than the average voter. That is a confirmed fact.
All of us together are a potential gold mine for our local Republican organizations. Much has been said about experience in this campaign. Candidates claim that they are ready to lead “from Day One.” I think that the readers of this blog are ready help the Republican ticket “from Day One.”
I know of several readers who are already involved. Kudos to Renna and to her husband for their support of Congressional candidates. Kudos to 2thepoint for his support as well. I remember Paulee writing that she and her husband Mike volunteered to help their local Republican organization. If I am leaving anyone out, I apologize in advance.
I am sure that you agree that this is an historic election. I believe that the country is at an inflection point. If we make the wrong choice in this election, I believe the financial consequences will be very serious and that a lot of innocent people will pay a steep price for that wrong choice.
Two and perhaps three Supreme Court Justices may need to be replaced over the course of the next four years and I don’t need to tell anyone on this site how very different the nominees of the two Presidential candidates will be.
Please don’t wait for someone else to volunteer. Trust me, these offices are almost always under-staffed and they are so grateful to see your smiling face walk through the door. Don’t assume that they have got it covered, they don’t. Remember that old saying: “If it is to be, it is up to me.”
Give your local office a call first thing Monday morning. Tell them you are willing to help with anything. And then click on to CTR at the end of the day and let us know about your work and your experiences at the local campaign office. I promise to do the same thing.

My son is a sophomore in High School and he told me this week he wants to do just that. We are going to our state GOP headquarters next week.

Anything, even word of mouth. I see over 500 people a day, of course have to censor customers political preference, then tell them to share with everyone OUR choices for 2008. I really want to go door to door, work phones, whatever it takes. Let’s get fired up! We have this whole country in our hands. We must be propositive, proactive, proMccain, and prohopeful for proMITT!!!!! Let’s do it!!!!!!!Yep, WE PROCAN!

Huckabee got his flock to move, but can he now get them to move in the right direction.
Police recalled when they realized the power of Martin Luther King. One night a large and highly emotional crowd gathered to support doctor King and his movement. Doctor King asked the people to disperse and go home. When they did so immediately,that was when the civil authorities knew the man, the place, and the purpose had converged. There are many peolpe who can excite and juice up a crowd, but the real test of power is when you can temper them back down for a greater amd more permanent goal. Mike Huckabee’s real test of leadership will not be how many of his disciples give a protest vote against the party, but how many he can get to vote for McCain/Romney. The evangelical vote was divided between Romney and Huckabee, and identity politics run deep. Mike has started “Huck Pac” spoke of “Huck town’ had charts of “Huck nation” has disciples tagged “Huck’s army” and even additioned for “Huck TV”. This limited legacy will pale in comparison to him being a true statesman if he actually gets his portion of the evangelicals to vote the ticket; but like all conservative success it must be measured in quantifiable numbers. How many of his 18,00 “Huck’s army” zealots will vote the ticket. A few carefully measured words of token support from huckabee will be shallow if he can’t produce verifiable numbers. Is he willing to decrease while the McCain/Romney ticket increase, or will he be remembered as the pastor/politician who clung not to his bible and guns but his own footprints in the sand. This is Mike Huckabee’s historical moment. IF he is successful history and the party will call on him again. If the numbers show his portion of the evangelical wont vote for the McCain/Romney ticket then obviously he cannot produce or he will not. Which is worse?

Hey Zeek, I think there is a great deal of sense in what you said. Can Huckabee be humble enough? In the area of humility alone, he holds not even a waning candle to Mitt Romney. He seems to refuse to admit that he shared the “e” vote with Romney. I would love to see what you said, grace and graciousness reign here. I think if he could truly and sincerely come forward and say “please be supportive, for the good of the country and the party”, it would go a long way. It will be intersting to see how it all pans out. Thanks for your thoughts… K
