What a huge disappointment it will be if Pawlenty gets the nod. He comes across as so bland and wimpy, and pales in comparison to Mitt in every way. Because of his age, McCain really needs to choose a VP who is ready to step in as President at a moment’s notice. I just don’t think most voters will be comfortable with Pawlenty filling that role.

    It’s gotta be Mitt!

  2. BrooklynCouch Says:

McCain stated this morning that the process had not yet been finished; no one had yet been picked. They’re waiting for Obama’s pick: Bayh or Hillary are my two “best” bets.

I heard Mr. Romney on HH’s show last night, and Bill Bennett’s show this morning. Heck, Mitt is already acting like VP; it just needs to be made official!

I have thought for a long time that it would be Hillary because Obama would not want to leave anything to chance however it was reported today that Hillary’s brother was meeting with the McCain camp. What is that all about? I am sure the Obama camp is not to happy about that.

    Still hoping for Mitt.

  4. Chris Says:

Why would Hillary’s bro meet with the McCain team?

Heard Mitt on Hannity and on Bennet. He’s in denile. If it’s him, he’s playing a good game. He does sound VERY presidential. All polls lead to Romney. The only one out there really dogging him is Huckabee. Someone (mac) needs to muzzle that puppy until after the election. He’s only making himself look petty and insecrue.

  5. Mit 10 Says:

It was reported that he and some of her supporters met at a McCain operative meeting. Must be considering giving their support to McCain.

  6. Karen Says:

The problem is Huckabee keeps all those “others” all stirreed up!

You are right about Mitt’s presentation as well in my estimation. Mitt is very presidential and/or professional. He really does a wonderful job. I pray it is him… don’t let up on those prayers! Anything can happen at this point. Did you ever wonder why we are seeing him now almost every day? Are we seeing Pawlenty? Lieberman? Palin? Guiliani? Is anyone as consistently talked about on the talk shows as he is by the likes of Hannity, Rush, Bennet and Hewitt? I just have to wonder about these things. I try not to get my hopes up about it all and I try not to get too depressed about it.

Heaven help us… please and God bless America with Mitt Romney

It’d be something if McCain picked Hillary!

Did anyone see the Huckster on Hannity & Colmes tonight? When Hannity said to him that he knew there had been some blood between him and Romney, Huckie couldn’t suppress a gleam in his eye and a quick big grin - then back to his game face and yapping his broken record - wah, wah, wah, wah, wah on why Romney is a loser.

At the end of the interview, with about a second to go, Hannity did get him to say he would that he (Huckabee) would support the ticket - but very unconvincingly.

Makes me think if Romney is the VP, will Huck continue to be his smarmy self? (Just once, I’d like to see Mitt get the ol’ weasel in a head-lock, rub a few hard head-noogies on his noggin’ and make him cry “Uncle Squirrel!” Now that would be worth the price of admission…) :)

Could Huck be in secret cahoots with McCain again to be the constant reminder of radical evangelism’s hate for Rommney so McCain can save face if he’s not choosing Mitt? Say he had to do what he (McCain) had to do to (choose someone else)to win for the country’s sake?

Then again, as has been said before, maybe he floated pro-choice names this past week to freak out the Evangies to make them grateful to have Romney for veep.

It’s a bugaboo. I’m with Paulee; when this is over I’m gonna plant my face in a hot fudge sundae. With a cherry on top!

2thepoint: I can’t believe it. I thought that very same thing last night. Huck will not stop! His comment to Shawn was Mitt had been inconsistent on all issues. Shame quickly stated, not all! Then Huckpuck says, obortion, gay marriage, the third ? at that point i was sooooooo angry. He weaseled his way into Fox just to harm Mitt’s chances. People like him take everyone down with them. He will pay for this someday. Now, though people believe in that show and having him continue to bad mouth Mitt is as bad as the lies from the Mccain good ole boy network. He’s a snake! There is no comparison between Mitt and Pawlenty . What credentials and long term experience does Paw have? He even spoke out that Mccain should run his campaign like Obama, I think he meant liven up the campaign. Already critical of potential next Pres. Mitt would say that in private! Please, let it be Mitt, please.

  10. Mit 10 Says:

I never have believed that McCain was in cahoots with Huck. I believe that the hatred and the bigotry had a life all of its own and McCain reaped the benefits. Huck was sucking up to McCain in the primaries trying to get the VP slot and now he is a scorned looser.

There is still hope for Romney.

Steve- I agree that it would be something if McCain picked Hillary but not likely. I still think Obama may want to “calm the waters” and pick Hillary to strengthen his base. In my opinion it is not what McCain has done so far that is helping him in the polls. Instead it is the fact that people are starting to see how inexperienced Obama really is.
