Mitt pwns Tom on “This Week”

August 17th, 2008 Posted in Mitt Romney

Tom Daschle speaking on behalf of “the One” sounds as vapid and vacuous as his candidate. Mitt sounds great and substantive and lands all of his punches. You can watch it at this link. He was particularly good addressing the Russian/Liberal canard that the Georgians brought this on themselves. He also handled a question on Huck’s latest shots at Mitt with class and dignity.

Let’s hope that we get to see a lot more of Mitt between now and November!

Super! David, thanks for this link - agree with your headline. I’m so glad Stephanoupolous aired the Huckaweasel clip from last week where he nixed the credentials of Romney as VP. Mitt responded to the Greasewhiskers clip with simplicity, dignity, and humility.

Tom Daschle conveniently laid his neck on the chopping block by comparing the so-called “judgment” of Obama to McCain’s experience. Quick Mitt was asked a different question – answered it – and came back to raise the hatchet on Daschle’s comparisons. Romney stated that judgment came FROM experience and that McCain possessed experience, judgment, and wisdom. Daschle could only do what Daschle does best – plant a pinched smile on his mug and wag his head back and forth.

Hearing and seeing Romney as he addressed the current issues of the day reinforces what an OUTSTANDING leader he is. Oh yeah, explains why the Democrats are attempting to cut Mitt off at the knees and why Huckabee is so cry-baby jealously insecure.

Mitt Romney and John McCain are a double whammy!

Make that “Stephanopoulos” - two too many “u’s. But hey, I almost typed in Snuffleupagus… :)

  3. Nate Gunderson Says:

That was good. I particularly liked that last statement by Romney. It’s great to see him back in action since he was gone at the Olympics.

  4. Karen Says:

ok, I thought he was supposed to be gone until the 20th… if that is so, why did he come back early? or did he? Am I wrong in the time line?

In regards to this debate ( ? ) conversation( ? ) I have never thought I would enjoy the company of Tom Daschle. My opinion has not changed.

Mitt was indeed classy. Having said that, I particulary enjoyed watching his eylids get frantic as he talked about not giving McCain advice as to whom to pick. People’s eyelashes sometimes flutter when they are covering something up. It is body language. I have spent years teaching special needs youth and youth at risk. This is a body language sign that is nearly infallible. I am not saying he is it, I am merely stating my opinion that he knows more than he is saying.

  5. JA Says:

Karen, I think you are right about the body language. When he told Stephanopoulos, “I have nothing for you on the VP front”, my first thought was that he knew something but couldn’t talk about it.

Let’s just hope that what he knows is that HE will be VP and not someone else!

P.S. Tom Ridge said today that he has NOT had any conversations with McCain about being VP, so I think we can cross him off the list.

  6. Tami Says:

That was AWESOME!! He is a class act. I hope Huckster has seen this by now and feels lower than a dime now. GO MITT!

  7. David Says:

Unfortunately, Tami, it would only be possible for Huck to feel lower than a dime if he had any sense of shame, which I think it is clear by now that he has none…

  8. Tami Says:

    David, that is so true.

Karen, maybe the reason Mitt is home earlier than expected is because I just read on his blog at Free & Strong PAC that a dear friend of his passed and that the funeral was today. http://www.freestrongamerica.com/blog/

Thanks for the link. Mitt is a loyal and committed person. I spoke to a dear friend from Mass. today at my cottage. Of course, the election came up, and her comment was I love Mitt. He ran Mass. like a business. I rest my case. He handled the Huck’s comment as if it was a brush off. Almost as if what Huck says or thinks doesn’t really matter to him. Mitt has bigger fish to fry. I remember a comment from Ann that they as a family only focus on positives. That’s very healthy. Huck is a weasel, sneaky, and totally jealous of Mitt Romney. He a disgrace to the party. His loyalty is to only himself!!!!!!!!
I heard Pawlenty vp alot today! Pray, Pray, pray.

    Karen,
Speaking of body language and eyelids fluttering, did you notice Huckaweasel’s eyelids?? In that little 15 secs clip, his eyes blinked 28 times(!!) Boy, what does that tell you??

  11. Karen Says:

I beleive in body language. I think there is much your body may say when your mouth is shut or moving. I think it is fun you noticed and counted Huckabee’s eye flutterings! Watch and pay attention. These guys get trained a bit too, but it is very difficult to control your eyelids for pity’s sake.

    Isn’t this fun??

  12. Paulee & Mike Says:

I talk about his continuous blinks all the time, I wonder what that indicates, besides insincere, dishonest, fibbing, and a total political climber at any cost. We need to keep all the folks Karen mentioned informed, they need to know Huck is up to no good. People must see this, don’t you think? He is so transparent. Pray for Mitt.

  13. SED Says:

We are down to the last 10 days before we know McCain’s running mate. SOmetime this week Obama is going to announce his VP. McCain will probably make his announcement a couple of days later. SO hopefully by mid-next week we’ll have VP Romney.

  14. Paulee & Mike Says:

Is there anyway we can send well wishes to Mitt that We are still pulling for him etc.? Sure would like him to know We have never lost hope that he and Ann will be Mccain’s choice.

  15. Paulee & Mike Says:

JUST HEARD ROMNEY, PAWLENTY. They said Mccain’s birthday is August 29. They said he would announce on that day and because Pawlenty is only 47 that could be a tie in. They said that he has to be fond of his VP. They say in that case, Pawlenty would probably be his choice, but not to rule out Lieberman or Ridge. I’m crazy! What’s going to happen? Honestly, I’ve heard Pawlenty speak and watched him, he doesn’t hold a candle to Mitt. I think if Mccain should have a situation, Mitt would be the better Pres. He is seasoned and so professional, loyal and honest, did I mention smart? We and the country really need Mitt. He needs money and Michigan???? What will he do?
