Spoiled Sports is what is up with that. Mitt is a wonderful man and people don’t always recognize what is good and that is unfortunate. People want cute, they want entertainment. These guys on this board seem like college students to me, I noticed some BYU address things. Yep, young and not too brite yet. As Judge Judy says, “not fully formed yet”. I liked Mitt’s shirt.

You guys, face it, McCain is out to lunch, and it’s getting more and more apparent that his strategy is not to aggressively go after the presidency, but just hope that Obama fails. That is the wrong way to show the American people you want to be president,and it belies how truly old and out of energy he really is. The republicans really blew it this year picking McCain. Let’s just call it a loss now and prepare for 2012.

McCain is a pretty stubborn, set in his ways guy. Last word is McCain could really shake things up by picking a dem for vp. Would ya think? Geez, I so wish all the negative nellies against Mccain would have seen the light in the primaries. I do agree that the Veep really does make a difference this time. I’m hearing that it does not really matter, mostly from those who want someone else like Huckabee on the ticket. THEN it will matter? and if it did not matter so much, why are ‘they’ so heck bent to keep mitt off? hummmmm? I want it to be mitt for many reasons. First of all, he’s the bestfor the job.

well Chris, this is the way it is. If it is not Mitt, more’s the pity. We are in deep trouble if it is not him. I cannot really see McCain winning without a really strong running mate, can you? I cannot think of a stronger running mate than Mitt. People say the VP doesn’t matter, but I disagree, especially give McCain’s age. I think it will matter in this race more than ever. And there is so much at stake… pray pray…

John, who knows what is in Mac’s mind. Your right. Lost opportunity. Or not. The way the press is in bed with the obamamessiah, it would have been very hard to justify naming Mitt on the eve on the Olympics. Can’t you hear the call now of ‘politicalising’ the Olympics? (even though they do it as well?) With all the recent trotting out of others for the veep slot, I wonder if Mitt is correct that it’s not him. I just don’t know. This one is getting harder and harder to read through the tea leaves.

I think McCain was thinking about doing it … but then he choked. Look back over this guy’s history. He’s never truly done anything imaginative or daring. He’s good at petulance, he shines there,…but has he ever gone for the gold, thrown caution to the wind and taken a bold leap of faith? Not really. He just muddles through. He may well be chosen over this strange Obama character, but he doesn’t seem to have the imagination or the sprit to be a significant president. At crunch time, he shrugs and shuffles off….

This whole election if getting freaky. On the Dem side we have a guy who is trying to position himself to the left of Karl Marx, who thinks we can (tire) inflate our way out of the energy crunch, who wants to negotiate with dictators but bomb our allies. And on the Pubbie side we have a guy who just wasted a potential public relations bonanza by not timing his pick of Romney for this morning. Just think of the cable news shows and their breathless analysis of “What Romney will bring to the ticket as VP” while Romney is on an overseas flight to China!!

By the time the plane landed and Mitt walked to the bank of microphones on the tarmac, the campaign would already have been given $10,000,00 in free publicity. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe the eventual announcement will be well received, but I doubt anything could compare to this moment in time with all media eyes on Beijing.

If McCain picks Lieberman (who is a good person, but too liberal for my taste) then McCain does not want to be president. If I want a democrate in the office, I’ll vote for Obama. At least he’s not D-lite! I want the most liberal and rabid in there, if McCain picks Leiberman.

Morris is an idiot. He’s wrong more times than he is right. He’s simply a shill for his buddy Huckabee, and might be trying to stir the fires to make his guy look good. He tried it last week with his unbiased assessment of Romney. This week, he’s pushing Leiberman, to show folks how ‘conservative’ his buddy is.

I’m still having difficulty with the notion of McCain as president, but the alternative truly terrifies me. The Democrats are such a trainwreck - I shudder at how much damage would be done to our country with Obama as President.

I just pray that McCain chooses a decent running mate so the future of the Republican party is not someone like Tim Pawlenty or Mike Huckabee.

I don’t know what McCain is thinking. I don’t even think McCain knows what he is thinking! All the ’surragates’ he sends out are bombing. Cantor is dull, dull, dull. And is tied to the failed house and Senate (as is McCain and Obama). Pawlenty? He might as well change his voter registeraton. Huck can’t help himself on calling McCain an old man (with love in his heart, of course). The ONLY one with command of the facts and issues is Romney. And now, he’s talking as if he is sure he’s not ‘the one’. I do find it interesting that when Romney was on Vacation, Mac sputtered and lost focus. You can certainly tell Romney is back.

Spotlighting and educating or reminding Americans of Romney’s past dealings on the world stage (the 2002 Olympics) makes this the perfect opportunity to re-introduce him to the voters and do it with a bang. It also would be a counter to Barrack’s European tour. In other words the Olympic participants in China - athletes and executives - could be interviewed with fond memories of what Mitt did for them 6 years ago etc etc etc. Again, if they miss ths chance … wow….very dumb.

If the McCain guys have any flair, they should announce Romney’s selection for vp while he’s enroute to China. Have the reporters at the tarmack waiting to interview him etc etc etc. Romney as vice president would traditionally be our embassador overseas anyway and this would be a chance for the folks at home to see how perfect he fits that role.If they miss this perfect moment I’d be a bit amazed and wonder if they’ve really got the balls and the brains to pull this election off …. or not.
