Came across this comment about Romney on: http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/08/mitt_romney_barack_obama_inter.html

I like what this person said so I'm sharing it here:
"I love Romney. He's one of the very few out there with enough of a spine to tell the media about the issues for what they really are. Romney is difficult to swallow from so many angles; you can't bribe him, he already has money and is as clean as a whistle as far as his life and family goes, you can't discredit him, he's educated and speaks his mind regardless of what others think, you can't play him down because he's a proven success in the free market economy, management, and government. I'm beginning to more fully understand why evangelical leaders hate him (he won't be bought, bullied, or forced into their political interests), media hates him because he highlights the truth for what it really is, and Democrats hate him because he a legitmate, charismatic threat to their political agenda. These Romney hate groups then try to spin Romney as an opportunist and panderer! Ha! I'm 1000% behind Romney as VP. We need more men like Romney in Washington."

Steven,
Word is that the evang leaders 'suggested' Cantor. They seem ok with a jewish man, but not a mormon. I am, so long as he has experience. But if they picked him, I won't support him.

<i>I just got my first ‘cantor for veep’ e-mail. I sent it back telling them since Cantor was hand picked by the evangalical[sic] leaders</i>

Wait, Evangelicals picked a Jew? Well, I'm flattered on some level, but I suspect that's not accurate.

I just got my first 'cantor for veep' e-mail. I sent it back telling them since Cantor was hand picked by the evangalical leaders, I would perfer someone else, thank you. I also told them while Cantor is most likely a good person, he needs to get something called EXPERIENCE. The e-mail said it is 'picking up steam'. When I have heard nothing since Saturday about Cantor. Has anyone else?

Our man, Mitt, leaves for Beijing tomorrow!

Given the extraordinary Olympic coverage that NBC has orchestrated, I wish McCain would announce TODAY that Romney is his VP choice. The coverage of a vice presidential candidate/Olympics savior Mitt Romney, in Beijing, would have delivered more international media attention, excitement, and drama – on a world stage – than announcing a veep candidate after the Democratic convention. Mitt would have been able to sing McCain’s praises to the world press. If Mitt is to be McCain’s choice, maybe JM fears being upstaged…

Check out the planned coverage of the Olympics from Coming Soon.net: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=46681

[NBC Universal has announced unprecedented coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympics:

NBC Universal, broadcasting its record 11th Olympics and surpassing ABC for the most Olympics broadcast by any network, will present an UNPRECEDENTED 3,600 hours of Beijing Olympic Games coverage, the most ambitious single media project in history. NBCU's unprecedented Olympics coverage features the most live coverage in the United States (75 percent in all), across the most platforms, of any Summer Olympics in history when the Games of the XXIX Olympiad commence on Aug. 8. The announcement was made today by Dick Ebersol, Chairman, NBC Universal Sports & Olympics and Executive Producer of NBCU's Olympic coverage.

The 3,600 total hours of coverage on seven NBC Universal networks: NBC, USA, MSNBC, CNBC, Oxygen, Telemundo and Universal HD, as well as NBCOlympics.com, is 1,000 hours more than the combined coverage for every televised Summer Olympics in U.S. history (Rome 1960 - Athens 2004, 2,562 hours). NBCOlympics.com will feature approximately 2,200 total hours of live streaming Olympic broadband video coverage, the first live online Olympic coverage in the United States.

"For the first time, the average American will be able to create their own unique Olympic experience whether at home, at the office or on-the-go," said Ebersol.]

Even though it looks like McCain missed a golden opportunity to boost his campaign by naming Romney his VP choice today, here is another thought from Jeremy P. Jacobs at PolitickerMA: “Could the Olympics boost Romney’s VP chances?”: http://www.politickerma.com/jeremyjacobs/591/could-olympics-boost-romney-s-vp-chances

Let’s pray for Mitt’s safety in China and the safety of all the athletes. I’ll be watching the Opening Ceremonies Friday evening, cheering on our American athletes, and waving a big American flag!!!

USA! Romney! USA! Romney! USA! Romney!

Well, Dick Morris has seen the light. Told Fox this am it will most likely be Mitt Romney for v.p. Flip-flop in the right direction, Dick. He says he thinks Lieberman would be across the isle better choice, however, I wonder with the lies Joe elaborated on during the primaries will they be forgotten by our conservatives? With all the money spent on ads during the Olympics( that's the plan) why wouldn't the exposure for Mitt and McCain be huge? I'm still pondering. Sorry, I'm not convinced, but hoping and still praying it's Mitt!

What most likely happened is that the segment got bumped.

My guess is that the "phenomenon" is this blog, and all the grass roots support that Mitt Romney has nationally (it's not even concentrated in MA).

I think we here at Committed know all about the Mitt Phenomenon. He is a phenomenal individual and perhaps we will get to see him in action yet AGAIN!!!!

I think alot of people could and will warm up to Mitt when he gets out there more and shows his brilliant personality and abilities yet again. He has so much to offer and I really pray he will get the chance. Can we say priming the pump??? I think perhaps that is what Cavuto was doing today.
