Romney Has Right Rx For McCain
August 2nd, 2008 Posted in Mitt Romney
The Seattle Times by Froma Harrop
The only candidate on a major-party presidential ticket to have proposed and implemented a universal plan could well be a Republican. I speak of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, now high on the list of John McCain’s possible running mates.
As a vice presidential candidate, Romney could help deliver Michigan to McCain, but even better, he could help deliver a rational health-care policy.

August 2nd, 2008 at 10:27 pm
Oh brother. This is true but I hope that policy is Private Health Care saving accounts that are tax free and not from the government. Massachusetts is a state. I think it was Romney that said you can not implement a program that works in one state and try to make it work in all states. Why oh why do most newspapers say that Romney could only deliver Michigan to McCain? He can deliver a lot of other states that McCain lost and he rightly won.

Dick Morris wrong on Romney!
From the “Mainstream Conservative” Josh Painter blogs that…. Ta Da! Dick Morris is wrong about Mitt Romney! Read it here: http://mainstreamconservative.blogspot.com/2008/08/dick-morris-needs-to-trade-in-his.html
“Bottom line: Dick Morris, given his track record of being just plain wrong so often, and given his close connections to Mike Huckabee, is hardly a credible source when it comes to the value of Mitt Romney to John McCain as a possible running mate.”
I disagree with Mr. Painter on one point. He states that Morris has been arguing against Romney as a VP choice for John McCain since the Arizona Senator emerged as the likely GOP presidential nominee.” Wrong! Dick Morris has been against Romney from the moment Romney announced he was running for president. At first Morris pooh-poohed Romney like he was barely worth the breath to speak his name. As the campaign unfolded, Morris became more vocal and disparaging against our man, Mitt. I’ve stated here before that I SMELLED A RANCID, ROTTING RAT when it came to Morris and his vitriol against Romney. Until I read JP’s article, I was unaware of the tie between Huckabee and Morris.
Curioser and curioser… P.U.!

2thepoint: Thanks for the article, I was so upset when Morris made the argument against Romney. Now, Huck and Morris are at Fox together. Fair and Balanced?????? Sorry, I smell the same RAT!!!!!!We think Mac’s playing games, he’s already got his man. Who is it??????? Million dollar question! We know Mitt has been on vacation, seems mighty dull without him talking for Mac. Ellis on Fox, has the nerve to say Mitt is boring!!!!! I think the dems fear Mitt! Howard Dean has lost his punch line, Obama’s flipped the dial o meter over the top!!!!! Give me experience and success any day, over retoric!!!!!!!!!

Ellis has issues, anyone can recognaize this. As far as Morris, he is an arrogant coward, thinking he should have such a big say. I might add that phony Gingrich has never been that pausitive towards Romney, except when he might look to unreasonable. I think that dork has a massive ego, trying allways to stay in the spotlight. Whats his deal called” american solutions” Now maybe theres some good to it, but he really is threatened by other people on the market. He tries to be own and be the authority on so many issues, including Gods hand in the founding of this country. I don’t think this southerner was in love with Romney, . Again another example of these idiots thinking there in control. As far as Morris is concerned, theres something about him that brings the words backstabber to mind.

RICHMOND, Va. - John McCain’s campaign has asked Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor for personal documents as the Republican presidential candidate steps up his search for a running mate, The Associated Press has learned.
It sure does not sound like MCCain has made up his mind yet.

Evelio,
Oh, let’s put some puzzles together! Last week, these ‘all powerful evangalical leaders’ put out their bigot letter about Mitt - once again. I think the Cantor leak is Mac’s way of telling them to back off. He’ll pick who he picks, without their influence. IMO, it’s well for these few to go ahead and leave the party. You mean 60 million won’t vote for a jewish man?!?! This is rich. I can’t wait to sit back and watch their heads explode! Popcorn anyone?

I think Mac is ‘outing’ the bigots with the cantor leak. Brilliant. If a Mormon is not acceptable, is a Jewish man? Hummmmmmmm.

Morris/Huckabee Snake Dance
Good comments, all!
Regarding Dick Morris and Romney: Within the article I posted above (”Mainstream Conservative” by Josh Painter) there is a link to an EYE-OPENING article authored by Jonathan Martin (Politico.com). (Wanted to post this follow-up last night but my original comment was awaiting moderation. Too late to keep the my bleary eyes propped open to wait for my comment to show up.) Here is the link to this MUST READ article which probes deeper into twists and turns of the Morris/Huckabee SNAKE DANCE:

*The link takes you to page 2 – be sure to read page 3. The 111 comments are provoking, as well.
Dick and Mike… Hissssssssssssssss!

Cantor is evangelical? I think I just heard that on TV. However, Lieberman on Meet The Press stated that both the McCains don’t have a bigoted bone in there bodys. I stared listening closely and then he talked about what a privledge it was to have been given the opportunity to be the first Jew, as Vice Nominee. I liked the language and the spirit he said it in. I think he knows something and had Romney in mind.
August 3rd, 2008 at 1:24 pm
I guess Cantor is Jewish, maybe this is a stick in there face.
August 3rd, 2008 at 1:34 pm
Chris, I think you guys are right, now that I think of it. The key here is, How did it get leaked to the media? It seems deliberate!
August 3rd, 2008 at 2:08 pm
I’ve got to say Chris, that article about Morris is stunning and telling. I never knew about the adultery, but because of the darkness in him and his twisted relationship with Smuck, well I now know why he hates Romney so bad. I would say alot of it has to do with Romney being a better man. They can’t stand it, it’s bad reflection on them, ecspecially if he “Romney” becomes Pres. The darkness in them is offended by the great light in Romney. This has been an eye opener. I allways thought that was part of the reason I sensed Gingrich was envious of Romney. He’s better at hiding it however. Wierd thing is I never liked Gingrich, even going back 10 years ago, when I was 19.

Aaron.
I’m hoping thi is a head fake. The evang’s leaders came out in force last week, and suddenly Cohen (can’t be more jewish name that that one!) is leaked out. Now, over on other sites, you can see the sputtering gibberish mormon bashers now trying to form a decent answer for a NON CHRISTIAN to be leaked out! All too funny, and you have to admit, brilliant!

2thepoint, thanks for the articles. Can anyone post some links on the fun anti Mormon/Romney blogs. I would like to revel there for a time and prepare myself for victory.

Thanks, 2thepoint: Great read!Have you seen the new McCain ad?
Obama “THE ONE”? I’m sure that will be discussed this week! The priest spokeperson for Fox thinks they are crossing the line of politics and religion. Really? This whole campaign has done that!!!!
August 4th, 2008 at 9:01 am
Yah, this whole campain has done, but it was a mormon, so it does not matter. If McCain allows bigotry a voice I will not vote.
August 4th, 2008 at 9:47 am
Ok, word is that the SBC ‘leadership’ (I would dare say Leaderless!) hand picked Cohen. Why would they dis a good Christian like Romney, then hand pick a Jewish man? (who is also good, but wet behind the ears and a part of the failed 8 percent rated congress). Yes… I see the light now….
Talk about a double standard! Mormons not welcome because they are not ‘Christian’ (yes they are), but Jewish are~! Somehow I think this is a dodge on their part, an that they did not pick Cohen, and are saying so to save face with their followers.
August 4th, 2008 at 9:49 am
Sorry. Meant Cantor!!! I used to date a man named Cohen (LDS convert from….)
August 4th, 2008 at 10:07 am
I am pissed and pissed about this! Everyone good person should write McCain and say they will not vote for an anti mormon ticket. Lets not get to fanatical, in thinking we can’t ever have a Dem for Pres. Do our part and let the Lord do the rest. Romney bust be going through a hard time deep down, as strong as he is. Keep in mind, hes the one that said if he looses the ellection do to his, than so be it. Obviously, he’s thinking about this secretly.. I’m really hoping that many with powerfull status are working on McCain. Such as Jeb Bush and others, as result of this hate. I hope people are contacting him. No one should vote for such a ticket. Mormons wake up! McCain would loose the election if he lost Idaho, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and with how close the election will probably be, he would loose all kinds of states, if Mormons rejected this. There is nothing worse!
August 4th, 2008 at 10:15 am
If he looses the election, due to his faith, than so be it. Romney does not tell us everything and we should think for ourselves. THIS IS CRAP! We are justified in playing hardball, as the bigots are not. This is CRAP! They hate this Church so much. As far as I’m concerned any mormon who votes for this crap in the name of Supreme Court Justices, as justification, is seriously offfff. Have more faith and let yor voices be heard. This is a national tragedy if this discrimination, bigotry and hate succeds. Dang it do not vote for this. Let Obama be Pres. and have more faith and perspective.
August 4th, 2008 at 10:18 am
This is crap! sorry evangelicals power freaks, picking Cantor. This is CRAP!

EVANGELICAL ENIGMA
This well-written article should be forwarded to everyone we know! From newswithviews.com by Jon Christian Ryter entitled “Evangelical Enigma” (Keep in mind that we have many wonderful, outstanding Evangelicals that are NOT advocating for candidates based on their religion…):
http://www.newswithviews.com/Ryter/jon246.htm
“As the liberal voters in New Hampshire—one of the northeastern “Patriot States” where the Revolutionary War began in 1775—casually surrender their historic blood-fought liberty to communism by endorsing the most unpatriotic, un-American “citizen-of-the-world” for the office of the presidency, conservative evangelicals in the heartland of the nation are doing everything in their power to throw the election to presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Hussein Obama [D-IL]. They did so by demanding that GOP presumptive nominee Sen. John Sidney McCain [R-AZ] not pick former Gov. Mitt Romney [R-MA] as his running mate. Why? Because Romney is a Mormon.”
Be sure to read the entire article.
