Fairwell to Huck’s Army
Oh great, I just got banned from Huck’s Army for letting them know that I approved their comments that were waiting in moderation, and thought they had a legitimate claim. I expected to be banned, but what is worse is that they deleted my comment, which was devoid of conflict. You try to help and be cordial and this is what happens?
Well, I’d like to give my fond fairwell to Ken, GrannyT, Debbie, Debra, Linda, and especially Tina, not to mention all the rest at Huck’s Army. My banning notice says that I got banned for not being a Huckabee supporter. Not true. If he were the nominee I would be voting for him in November. If he is the VP nominee I will be actively promoting him over Obama. What is not healthy is this great animus between the two factions. I was only trying to help. But any hint of liking Romney AND Huckabee is I guess not allowed at HA. “Man cannot serve two masters…”
Note to Debra: Orioncev was not the troll you were looking for.
PS: winter.tommy is an anagram for w. mitt romney. Pretty clever, huh?

TO ANYONE IN HUCK’S ARMY READING THIS , WE GET BANNED FOR MENTIONING SOMETHING NICE ABOURT ROMNEY AND YOU GUYS GET TO SPEW YOUR BIGOTRY IN THIS SITE ?
SOMEBODY IN HUCK’S ARMY IS SCARED TO HEAR A DIFFERENT OPINION ? I BELIEVE THE ANSWER IS YES !

I have seen very little bigotry on Huck’s Army, but when it is there I am very surprised to not see it immediately rebutted. It has been, until just recently as more people have become aware of it, acceptable to say demeaning things about Mormonism. I think it’s funny that they even go so far to say that Mormons are bigots because a vast majority voted for Romney. Well guess who we all voted for with the same numbers for in 2000 and 2004? An evangelical. Orrin Hatch was running for President in 2000, though for a very short while. He would not have received the same amount of support when George Bush, an obvious better pick was also there.
I got a good kick out of a comment made by Debbie the other day at HA saying that she feels that Huckabee is the only one who has been discriminated against religiously.
BTW-they tried to ban my IP so i can’t access and read they’re forums. Silly. There are very easy ways to get around that. But I’ve gone back and checked and they’ve deleted ALL of my posts. They REALLY don’t want to here any argument, true or not, if it’s in defense of Romney.

Why do you assume people who like Romney are biggots??? We are not! My support for Mike Huckabee and dislike of Romney have nothing to do with religion. I am not an evangelical — and I DETEST ROMNEY!!!! My husband is an athiest and he think’s Romney is the Poster Child for the “Evil Republican”. Our Friend is a Muslim and he lead a community group for Huckabee. Huckabee had a broad appeal, yet Mitt Romney supporters, continue to say it was only Evangelicals who supported Mike — not true. Exit polls showed that Huckabee only received 1/3 of the Evangelical vote — so who were all those other voters supporting Mike???
My POOR OPINION OF ROMNEY is based on Romney’s lack of character and ability to say anything to get elected. The fact that Romney had to pay so much $$$ to gain so little popularity means the General Public did not like him! A simple fact. So, why is he trying to blame this on Huckabee. It appears to me that it is the Romney supporters who are bigoted against Evangelicals.
As for me, I tried very hard to like Mitt. He appeared so presidential, so polished, so successful, etc. I really wanted to like him — but, the more I saw of his record, and the more I saw him disparage his competitors during the primary, well, I was sickened!
By the way, I live in MI and I do not know what he has done for this state — other than LEAVE!
I can honestly say that if Mitt is on the ticket with McCain that I will find it hard, if not impossible to vote for him. Not because he’s a Morman — I don’t care what his faith is — I did marry an athiest after all — it’s just a non issue for me.
But, Character counts — and I do not like Mitt’s Character. I do not want this man to have his finger on a nuclear weapon!

When a user is removed from the forum, their posts all go as well. That is our forum runs technically.
“My banning notice says that I got banned for not being a Huckabee supporter.”
That is a standard banning statement for those who did not support Huckabee for President or wish they had.
If you read the guidelines of the site, it says the forum is for those who supported Huckabee. If this is the case then let me know and we can talk about re-instating you. If we let you in, then we have to let in all the people who did not want to support Huck and that changes the dynamic and purpose of the forum.
Members of our site have blogs, etc that you are free to be involved in and you can email with any of the HucksArmy leadership at any time.

Thanks for the explanation Robert. Was it really necessary to delete my posts? I never said anything bad about Huckabee. All my posts were conducive to healing the Romney-Huckabee strain. I’m very put out that the moderators want nothing to do with it. I was first banned, and THEN my IP was blocked, probably to stop me from reading it and sharing with others.
About the blogs, they’re nothing compared to HA. Not worth leaving comments on, with just a few readers.

“Was it really necessary to delete my posts?”
Probably not. This naturally happens when someone is removed unless steps are taken before the removal to save them. We really should change this procedure.
“I was first banned, and THEN my IP was blocked, probably to stop me from reading it and sharing with others.”
Interesting. I am not sure why this is. Are you able to read the site now or should I look into getting your IP block removed?
“About the blogs, they’re nothing compared to HA.”
Fair enough. I will look into there being an official HucksArmy blog where you and anyone whether they support Huckabee or not can comment assuming their comments are not racist, etc.

Well I know its a forums prerogative to limit their members but the forums owners should think long and hard as to what they are doing. It treads on breaking the 1st amendment.
July 29th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Robert,
Your sincere demeanor is appreciated. I do have a block on my IP but it was easy to get around, so yes I can read the forums still. I think the reason that my IP was banned is because I was sharing VP poll info with Romney supporters and they didn’t like me doing that, so they thought to block me completely. There was a forum about a poll at jasontcpa.blogpsot.com that I flooded, and I believe they didn’t like that and restricted access entirely to that forum. To me it seemed they didn’t want people to know that the poll had been infiltrated and Huckabee lost. Anyways I’m pretty sure the IP ban was intentional and probably deserved. I have my guess is that is was Debra who did it. She was the one who gave me warnings before.
About the HA blog: I think that would be a good idea. I cannot vouch for my fellow Romney-ites, but I would be very civil and polite in my comments, and would only comment to clarify things regarding Romney’s record or Mormonism. I think HA is a great forum, but to every tale there are two sides and I think a few (not all) are oblivious to the counter arguments.

Steve:
The first amendment has nothing to do with privately owned web-sites. HA is perfectly justified in censoring all they want without worry of breaking the law. We could do so as well if we wanted to. I personally think it only does them (HA) a disservice of not lending ear to, or refusing to listen to an alternate opinion.

“HA is perfectly justified in censoring all they want without worry of breaking the law.”
We had a lot of issues with Ron Paul hackers, etc that required us to be strict. While we do give up something by not having alternate views in the forum, we consider the forum the only place on the internet that we can have internal discussions and there are so many other places on the internet where we do interact and get the views of others.
Hopefully we will have a public blog soon. I’ll work on that tonight.
PS - winter.tommy is pretty clever. Let me know if any new concerns, etc come up.
July 29th, 2008 at 11:19 pm
Thanks, Robert. If I have any serious concern of content on the forum, I’ll just e-mail you now that I have your e-mail. You can judge for yourself if I have any claim.
July 29th, 2008 at 11:27 pm
Sounds good to me.
July 29th, 2008 at 11:33 pm
Just curious Robert, do you know Peter McMullen?
July 29th, 2008 at 11:44 pm
Nate,
They just don’t want real facts and figures bantered about. That’s why they won’t let anyone else on. If you run a ‘poll’, and the only people alowed to vote on it is those in total lockstep with you…then the results will be skewed. I’m glad ‘Robert’ is trying to be genuine, but remember…We’ve been bitten before.

“I’m glad ‘Robert’ is trying to be genuine, but remember…We’ve been bitten before.”
Thanks for recognizing my attempt to be real with you guys.
Hopefully over time you will see me as trustworthy even when we disagree although I think we will agree on more things then we think when we can if we interact as adults.
“Just curious Robert, do you know Peter McMullen?”
Yeah, I know a guy with that name. He was one of main Huckabee guys in Fresno, CA and real nice too. How do you now him?
July 30th, 2008 at 12:04 am
LOL, just playing with ya Robert. Your IP tells me your from Fresno, but it’s not always correct. I looked up Robert on the leadership page on Hucks Army and couldn’t find one so I looked to see who was representative in Fresno. Perhaps your name is really not Robert, but it’s just a pseudonym.
I was looking you up because I’m surprised that I don’t know who you are from HA. I know many of the other names.
July 30th, 2008 at 12:19 am
I am not from Fresno although I am fairly close by in Clovis…which happens to probably be one of the most Mormon cities in California by the way…which is how I have Mormon friends.
Robert is my middle name and I use it a fair amount online.
