Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will be in Michigan on Monday to help celebrate the opening of Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign office in Farmington Hills.

Romney is often mentioned as a possible running mate for McCain. Raised in Bloomfield Hills, Romney is the son of former Michigan Gov. George Romney, and he came back to win the state’s Jan. 15 presidential primary. Political observers have said that Romney could help attract votes in the state, which has become a key battleground in the upcoming election.

The campaign office is located at 31440 Northwestern Hwy., Suite 100 in Farmington Hills. The celebration with Romney begins at 5 p.m. Monday.

Wouldn’t it be fun to figure out a way to go to that????

What a gracious man! I truly wish there were more of them out there like him. We would be a lot better off than with the bunch of miscreants we are saddled with. What happened to integrity?

  2. John Cronin Says:

    KKSM,

It sure would be. I am waiting for McCain to announce a fundraiser with Gov. Romney in Missouri. I’ll be all over that!

  3. Ann Marie Curling Says:

Oh man, if you hear of such an event John make sure and give me a holler as quickly as possible.

    Thanks,

    Ann Marie

I’m going to see if I can go to this. (Michigander over here. :) ) I saw Mitt once before in Traverse City right before the primary (I think you guys had the video of it up on the site back in the “elect Romney” days–I was actually featured as an interviewee in that video.) So, I’d love to go see him again.

  5. John Cronin Says:

    Ann Marie,

You are officially “in the loop” for any Missouri appearances by MR.

  6. Steve Andrew Says:

I don’t think I’ll get any Republicans round’ here in Austin, Texas :(

I wonder who else is going to be at the unveiling.

  7. Tami Says:

That would be so great to go to something like that. I’m just an Idaho girl here and doubt they’ll make appearances here but hey, ya just never know lol

Not sure if the link to this article has already been posted or not. Sorry if it is a repeat. http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=32224

    Jenny,

Hope you’re able to attend the fundraiser! If you go, take pictures. If ya get within shouting distance of Romney, let him know that we ComMITTheads are still roarin’ and rootin’ for him! Mention Paulee’s name or Ann Marie’s name and maybe he’ll give you a few words to share with us us… :)

Off-topic, but I just checked back on that Seattle Times poll and the Huckster is winning again, he and Mitt are close though, he’s winning by about 9 votes, they have a little over 300 apiece.

Gov. Mitt Romney is such a class act and is my former governor when I lived in Mass. I voted for him and thankfully he was elected over uber lefty Shannon O’Brien. He did an excellent job as governor in dealing with the predominantly far left legislature that rules with an iron fist.

I am not a fan of John (Amnesty) McCain, but the only way he’ll get my vote is if Mitt Romney is his VP running mate. And, I suggest McCain make that announcement asap vs. waiting to see who Obama picks. Who cares! McCain has alienated the conservative base of the GOP and if he doesn’t pick a strong conservative as his running mate, he can hang it up. It’s Bob Dole ‘96 all over again. I don’t think I can take four years of Obama…

    Thanks Evelio!

  14. Jenny Says:

    2thePoint: Of course! :)

Evelio– thanks for the link. Right now Mitt and Mike Shmuckabee are tied at 333 votes. Go vote for Romney–we can win another poll!!

  15. Paulee & Mike Says:

2thePoint: Thanks for the recognition, but I hardly compare to Ann Marie. We all surely have in common our dedication to Mitt, that’s for sure. On Fox, Frank Lunt, said once again today, Mccain needs Mitt for Michigan. We have heard that alot. He has been a wonderful asset to Mccain.

  16. bigmo Says:

The Huckster has started surging ahead in that Seattle Times poll…

  17. Jenny Says:

Hello, everyone! I have just returned from the event. There was a good sized, enthusiastic crowd there. Unfortunately, Mitt was in a hurry to leave, so I didn’t get to talk with him/get a picture with him, but I do have some pictures to share! I will be posting pictures as well as a little rundown on what happened. :)
