Veepstakes “Final Four” - Go vote for Mitt!
June 25th, 2008 Posted in Mitt Romney
Mitt is now in the Final Four going up against Pawlenty. He’s currently the top vote getter at 69% with 28K votes in!
If you haven’t voted yet, click here, and take Mitt to the finals! (looks like he will be up against Colin Powell)
June 25th, 2008 at 3:20 am
Looks like there is an outpouring of Republicans/Conservatives that are picking Mitt. Good news for us
June 25th, 2008 at 10:30 am
You know, the sad thing is, the more Mitt wins these things, the more obvious a choice he becomes and (in my mind) the less likely it is that McCain will actually pick him as VP.
But I voted for him anyway. On both my computers.
June 25th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Well, Pawlenty went up from 30 percent last night to 31 percent today, but it looks like Mitt is taking this thing. Everybody go vote if you haven’t yet. And no need to vote on both computers, we don’t need Ron Paul fan tactics to win. Ha.
June 25th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Although I missed my chance to vote for Mitt Romney this time, my comfort is that the outcome of this contest is probably going to have no sway in McCain’s decision on this matter.
Go McCain-Romney 2008!
June 26th, 2008 at 6:54 am
Hannity introduced Rob Portman as Mccain’s front runner. Someone better tell all the polls, Romney is heads and shoulders better as a speaker, than Portman, but he was humerous and had good points. We, here, all just so respect Mitt’s abilities. It will be another disappointment. A major heartbreak, when so many of all walks of live are saying they wanted him for President. Are we learning that life is not always fair? Or is there a better plan for Mitt. Has anyone tracked the polls Mitt has won? Should we e-mail RNC
and state our case? WE NEED TO STICK TOGETHER TILL MCCAIN announces his VP?
June 26th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
I’m definately not getting my hopes high on Romney for VP, but for 2012… you bet.
June 26th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
It could be a smoke screen. Who cares. Portman is ok. Not as good a pick as Mitt, but at least the 6 or 7 rabid hukabee ‘i’ll never vote for a mormon’ people won’ have to hae CPR done on them.
June 27th, 2008 at 6:30 am
I saw Pat Buchanan last night and he stated Romney best pick for VP because of industrial states and Michigan!!! He said Pawlenty would not help him, as would Mitt. No mention of Rob Portman. Mitt is still ahead at MSNBC 69 % next is Powell, who says won’t run, because of danger to his life, as wife stated! Let’s see, child rapist not put to death, but we can now can bear arms. Did you all hear, Jindal says in his state he is pushing for chemical castration, 1st offense, 2nd surgical castration. Wow! he’s not a happy camper!
June 29th, 2008 at 8:59 am
Hey everybody, go to thies link and defend our man Mitt. It is so weird that that paper is too much read and commented in by people who are ornery!

I completely agree with your statement KKSM. You would think the majority of readers and commentators on the website would be LDS. Oh well. I have no time for people who are stupid anymore. If they haven’t changed their mind about Mitt yet the chances are very slim unless Mitt is VP.
Paulee&Mike,
Gov. Jindal wants to do what?! That is actually the perfect punishment for Child Rapists. In fact lets make that the punishment for all Rapists. Though the question come…what do we do with those few sick women who rape? Because Rapists are not all men.

A little Good News !!!!!!!!!!
Romney tops McCain veep list:
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0608/11435.html
July 1st, 2008 at 6:25 am
A little more good news, last night on Hannity they stated that Mitt was no. 1 on Mccain’s
veep list. However, Dick Morris, tore the idea apart. He said the Rep. needed Condi Rice,
Powell, or Joe Lieberman. You all know how I feel about Lieberman given the lies about timetables. What don’t these people get? Mitt came in second to Mccain until he suspended, he spoke all the truths that are now being addressed. No one wanted to believe him, that would mean work, lots of work, and we would be shaking up Washington!!!!!I was so angry at Morris, the media plays such a big role in the publics opinions.
KKSM::; Hey, thanks for the link, I went over and put my two cents in. As usual, we have our unhappy, jealous of success, never taken a chance folks over there. If I want success, I go with a proven winner!!!!! Let’s keep touting Romney to RNC and Mccain.
Sarah: Jindel is a good politician, what little I have heard him, he seems bright.
Women rapist, a little more complicated. Good question.
EVERYONE, Go vote at Msnbc this week!!!!!! Stand by Our MAN MITT!!!
Renna: I received another mailer, this time it’s Mitt asking for our support for Mccain.
DO WE SEND MONEY TO MITT, FOR MCCAIN????
July 1st, 2008 at 1:08 pm
Ok guys, today the finals start! Its Mitt vs. Powell. I just voted for Mitt and he’s currently winning, but its still early so go vote for Mitt if you haven’t yet. Also, a bigger victory sends a bigger message to McCain, so everyone vote if you can.

Check this out guys, supposedly Mccain has picked ROMNEY for his veep…..
July 2nd, 2008 at 7:42 pm
I think that link needs some pro-Romney comments Evelio, so I put one. Thanks for sharing. I don’t know how accurate that is, I highly doubt, for instance, that it was a choice between Romney and Huckabee. So who knows if their conclusion is correct. In fact, this might actually make it LESS likely for McCain to pick Romney, since he wants to be a maverick and do what noone expects. That might even be why they are doing this, to ensure he WON’T pick Mitt.
July 3rd, 2008 at 3:23 pm
It’s clear to me that this is not a Romney/Powell match-up. This is a Romney/anti-Romney match-up. Any name could be on the other side and would get the same percentage. But I do like Powell. He seems honest and trustworthy. But wouldn’t that ticket be a little too militaristic? However, Romney could be a very controversial pick for McCain. I believe Romney is a very risky choice because of the Mormon thing. McCain can always play it safe and pick somebody else, but Romney may be the only person he can win with.
July 3rd, 2008 at 3:54 pm
I think McCain will ultimately pick a candidate who could help him win. I think McCain is jealous of Romney. I do think Romney is a liability in the south but I believe there will be evangelicals who will be willing to give Romney another look, especially with the ailing economy and Romney’s reputation as the “fix it guy’.
I think Obama may want Hillary as his running mate. If I am right, the only hope McCain has for winning this election is Romney. The man he cheated is the only man that can give him any hope for the White House.
July 5th, 2008 at 7:49 am
Mit 10: I think Mccain owes Mitt the VP position. He can get him Michigan, that’s a biggy.
I agree that Romney would get another look esp. it is the economy stupids!!! The comment they are using, however, I agree. Let us not forget he was a Mormon when he came in second to Mccain at suspension. I remain hopeful, given that fact!!!!
July 5th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
Paulee & Mike
Mitt Romney won over a lot of people once they opened their minds. He was the best and I am sorry America let the best get away. However, having him as the VP may be McCain’s only hope for the White House. McCain will have a hard time admitting that but lets assume he picks Romney… you can bet that the liberal media will attack him because I believe Romney was the ONE they feared the most. If McCain picks Romney this race will get really interesting.
July 7th, 2008 at 12:45 am
I’m afraid a Romney pick will be the only way McCain will get my money or my vote. Yes I’m willing to let the Dems take it if McCain isn’t smart.
Even if Obama wins it can’t be worse than the night Clinton won. What a loser he was.
July 7th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
It’s all over: Romney wins the poll!!
July 7th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
Which poll is that? It is so exciting!!! I heard Sean Hannity today and he said that Mitt has won every single poll in recent days and people are really sending the message for McCain to pick Mitt… I wonder what will happen??? Only good things I pray. Well, what I think too is that if McCain has a chance at all, he needs Mitt for it.
July 7th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
KKSM: Romney won the poll @ MSNBC. Voting closed this morning.
Unfortunately, I didn’t hear Sean today, but that’s great news–thanks for sharing! I completely agree. As I see it, Mitt is McCain’s best hope–and I pray he chooses wisely. Obama really worries me, he is so inexperienced. I heard on Rush Limbaugh today that Obama announced his candidacy after only…I think it was 143 days (does someone else know?) after he became a senator. Does that worry anyone else?
July 7th, 2008 at 8:55 pm
KKSM: The poll I think is the MSNBC, Mitt 57% Powell 43% something like that. Mitt was 57%, for sure. We surely have done lots for the sake of Mitt and this country. We all so believe in him, just can’t help it. He’s the one. I’ll pray as well. All these polls show our trust and desire to have Mitt in the White House. They better listen up! Oh, how I hope this is Mitt’s turn.
July 7th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
Hi Paulee and Jenny!
It is so exciting that we are all on the same page in this thing. Mitt is a great man and would be such a blessing for our country. I cannot help but hope (and maybe even think a little bit that as you said Paulee,) perhaps it is Mitt’s turn, thereby being OUR turn! Yes Jenny, we need to pray that McCain will choose wisely. I am getting to think that he really has no choice. When EVERY poll and questionaire says America really wants Mitt, (who should rightfully be where McCain is now) as McCain’s VP, the McCain needs to listen! How about some more phone calls????
Where has Renna been?
July 8th, 2008 at 5:35 am
KKSM: My thoughts as well. Where are you Renna? Need your advice, Mitt sent a mailer asking for money for Mccain. Now what would you suggest???? Come on, this VP suspention is killing me??? Promise we won’t all fall apart again if it’s not Mitt. At least we have here to share this time, thanks on my part to my good friend!! Looks like Sanford is the talk for VP as well. They call him a conservative “darling”. He has not been vetted. How will he help Mccain? Anyone know the stats on this person? Watch for the reporting on the MSNBC poll. Interested in what they do with Mitt’s win!!!!! Thanks, I will do the same. Oh by the way, KKSM, thanks for the compliment, Smart???I think we all are here.At least we knew who our next Pres. should have been!!!!Have a nice day, all.
July 8th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Economy, money, Michigan= Mitt Romney VP. Hey everyone Mitt will be on Hannity tonight, Tues. at 9p.m. You heard it here!!!!! I heard it on Fox News. i don’t expect him to say much as far as VP goes, he is a gentleman. Be nice to hear him, everytime he speaks he seems more informed, and at ease.
July 8th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
I think it makes more sense that Obama and McCain pick the candidate that came in second. In the end I think Obama will not want to leave anything to chance. I think he will want Hillary. But in the event he picks someone else, I think McCain will feel more comfortable picking anyone but Romney. We will see.
Did you hear how McCain is leading his party on the Global Warming issue. Climate change. I am all for anything that helps the air be cleaner however taxing us on our energy use and using those taxes to capture carbon emissions seems totally absurd. Especially with the rising food cost and gasoline prices.
We need to vote out these liberal dems and republicans who act like dems and send some common sense to Washington. Conservation is the key. Drilling on our soil is the key. No more taxes. Washington needs to manage their funds better and stop asking for more $$$$$$$$. Also, lets get some free market solutions to our energy problems. Romney could be very helpful here. Finding real free market solutions to our energy problems could provide jobs in our country and jump start our economy.
VOTE THE BUMS OUT AND LETS GET AMERICA WORKING AGAIN.
July 8th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Paulee: Thanks for the info. I’ll be sure to watch!
Mit 10: I’m not sure about Hillary. Since Obama is up in the polls, I think he might want to go with someone less known, and perhaps “safer.” He is being hailed as “the uniter” with “a new kind of politics”, and while adding Hillary to the ticket would “unite” the Democratic party, it hardly seems the way to unite left and right–not to mention the Clinton’s hardly represent “a new kind of politics.” But then again, I don’t think Obama really fulfills either of those roles. He is obviously a hard-core liberal (the most liberal in the senate) who is “moving” towards to center for the general election campaign. So, I leave Hillary open as a possibility. But, given the game he’s playing, I don’t think it is a likely one.
I completely agree with your last paragraphs, though.
July 8th, 2008 at 7:51 pm
Jenny I always love feedback! Thanks.
I agree Obama is more popular and therefore his running mate might not be as important as McCains running mate. McCain loves to taut himself as the under dog. He needs some new material. His rhetoric is archaic and draws attention to his age. I just don’t think an unknown will help McCain much and I know that Romney will not be much help in the south but I think his economic know how could win over some new supporters. In hard times, I think people may trend towards conservative values. I am not sure if history is reflective of that statement. Any thoughts?
July 8th, 2008 at 8:04 pm
I agree with you Mitt10 on most of what you said. I don’t think that McCain’s message is wrong. It’s the messenger. Nothing he says these days seem to get any substantial media attention. Partly its media bias, but most of it is the fact McCain appears to not have a cohesive message. It would been nice to have a candidate that would say “washington is broken” or “change begins with us”.
July 8th, 2008 at 9:16 pm
Mit10: You’re welcome.
Unlike with Obama, McCain’s running mate needs to be someone who will fire up the campaign. As the runner-up in the primaries, I think Mitt can do this better than any of the other VP prospects, save Hucksters’ ability to fire up his small group of supporters.
The VP also needs to bring in more grassroots support, and given the lively activity still going on at this site, I think it’s safe to say that Romney supporters will be committed (pardon the pun) to helping a McCain/Romney ticket win.
With Michigan and his economic experience added in, I have begun to think that Romney may actually be chosen.
I wish I knew enough history to answer your question, but unfortunately, I am unsure. That said, I think that currently we are seeing the historical trend that some call “the blame game.” There is historical precedent that in hard times the party/people in power get blamed. But, here is the interesting thing: congress (controlled by the Dems) has a lower approval rating than Bush. However, I think many people blame Bush for their problems (which, I will admit, in a few situations is justified), but overlook the fact that the Democrats are hurting us more. This may partially be a result of the Democrats having blamed Bush for everything, even before times got hard. What McCain NEEDS to be doing is pointing this out to the general populous. I must say, however, I would not be surprised if Americans turned to Conservatism in times of trouble (and not just because I’m a Conservative.) There is no doubt that this is a center-right country. Why else would liberals like Obama be constantly moving towards the center?
SED: You are right on. McCain needs a message. Obama has “yes we can.” McCain needs a response. He needs to start pushing just how liberal Obama is. In a center-right country there is no reason Obama should be as popular as he is.
The way I see it, people are seeking change. What they don’t understand, correct me if I’m wrong, is that liberalism is the problem. From the Democratic congress to “compassionate conservatism”, we see that liberalism is a failure. Obama’s idea of change is to make us more liberal. Mitt was right when he said “Washington is Broken.” We need change–just not Obama’s kind. I’m more than happy to hear other people’s thoughts on this.
July 8th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
McCain already has a message. “Hey, look at that other guy, he’s even worse!” Its probably the only one people might believe.
July 8th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Right on Jenny! America is looking for change. The change we are looking for is competency. At this point it is not about ideology, but about results. Who is going to solve the problems we face today? Who is going to objectively look at an issue, find solutions, and bring people across the aisle to our side to ultimately yield a result?
It is amazing to me how corrupt and inept politicians are in Washington. In the business world; if you don’t keep your promises, you lose your job. Some how these people keep getting re-elected time and time again making the same promises.
John McCain has had this election literally fall into his lap. Congress’s approval ratings are in the dump, Obama’s true colors are showing, and gas prices are through the roof. However, he’s John McCain; he can’t drill in ANWR, he can’t “get it” on immigration, he rails against “obscene profits”, his campaign organization appears to be shabby, and his ads do not feature anything of substance.
Would Mitt be a great VP. Absolutely! My concern is that unless McCain turns his campaign around…November will be a blowout. Thus ruining anyone who’s associated with it. There is only so much we can do to support our party, but if the candidate is dropping the ball what do we do?
July 8th, 2008 at 11:31 pm
We need a big turn over in Washington. Then maybe the BUMS will understand the change we are talking about.
The McCain camp must think there is nothing wrong with Washington.
July 9th, 2008 at 6:12 am
McCain’s camp is searching for it with both hands, changing staff this late in the game. Hello, stop taking weekends off! This job, the is 24/7. Do you think for one minute Mitt would be taking off weekends.? He would be crunching numbers, seeking better council, doing his homework. We needed an energenic, on the ball thinking machine, a motivated doer for these critical times. I think this situation could work in our favor, they see McCain, they see Mitt, they got McCain and lost Romney. Perhaps now, they see Mitt and how much we lost. Keep pushing Mitt as the NO. 1 choice for V.P. We can’t let up now!!!!!!! Just look at his enthusiasm and energy, we need some excitement and hope for this countries future.
Can someone motivate Mccain???? Desire for the office should be his motivation, let’s hope he gets it pretty soon, or someone bold enough to tell him, show us we can believe in you. Right now, whether he knows it or not, he is in the convincing business. Perhaps he is too much of a Maverick to listen, or maybe he has a stubborn streak. It
seems to me these are basics, who’s minding the store???????
July 9th, 2008 at 7:02 am
Will someone please explain why McCain is going on about balancing the budget? It’s like he’s out in left field with economic issues. I’m no economist but I know that when the economy is tanking you want to stimulate the economy which requires $$$$$. I don’t think the “balance the budget” talk is going to win many votes when the price of gasoline and groceries have doubled in the past year. McCain is out of touch and will lose this election if he doesn’t get some help on this. Leave the economics to Mitt.
July 9th, 2008 at 7:33 am
Paulee and Mike I have been having some of the same thoughts regarding McCain. Does he really want the job? It has been said that the candidate that throws around the word CHANGE is usually the more popular candidate. Obviously, Obama has picked up on this. The only CHANGE McCain seems interested in is CHANGING the republican party. Have you heard is latest commercial. He claims that he is the candidate leading the party on the climate change issue. He was for the cap and trade bill. Thank goodness that got voted down. Romney said He would not have supported the bill because it was unfair to America. COMMON SENSE.
SED- McCain is not interested in appealing to conservatives he is going after Hillary supporters and so is Obama. In the end he just figures that he will get our support because he is the most conservative out of the two choices. BIGMO said it best. Ann Coulter said that “Centress Republicans never win.” That said, I am not making any predictions about who will win this year because of late Obama seems to be he own worst enemy.
I just hope a lot of politicians loose their jobs when they come up for reelection.
July 9th, 2008 at 8:06 am
Jenny I agree that liberalism is the biggest problem facing America today.
Jon I wish John McCain would just step aside and leave everything to Mitt.
Sed/ Paulee and Mike It would be just like McCain to loose this for the republicans.
July 9th, 2008 at 8:55 am
Jon - balancing the budget is not wrong to talk about. However, the way McCain frames the subject makes it unappealing. When Mitt ran for governor in my state he said something that resonated wth the majority of our citizens. He said, “governmnet has to live within its means”. Every person and every business in this country has to live within its means to survive. Liberals and sadly a lot of independents think that for the government this rule does not apply. The government makes money from thin air. Either they can borrow from the future or raise taxes to make up the difference.
When you have a balanced budget and a surplus the dollar strenghtens. As crazy as Ron Paul maybe on foreign policy I tend to agree with a lot of his economic policies. The weak dollar and lax governement management has led to our current economic woes. if McCain had some gravitas in this area it would cary more weight. Sadly he only appears authentic on the war.
July 9th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
I agree with Jon sentiments regarding McCain not being in out of touch. He says things that don’t seem to fit. It seems like he is running a retro campaign.
I agree that balancing the budget may strengthen the $$$$$$ but Americans have heard all that and they are far more concerned that what is happening in their personal bank account. He needs to tailor his message to fit their immediate concerns and though his economic policies are sound and make sense, the average voter may not understand how that balancing the budget will affect them in a positive way.
Let’s talk about drilling on our soil. McCain does not like the idea of drilling in ANWAR. Let’s talk about rising food and gasoline cost and what can be done about it. I got the impression from McCain’s campaign trip to Michigan that McCain is someone who does not think there are solutions to every problem America faces.
And lets face it, he lacks charisma and drive. The more I see the McCain camp flounder through this campaign the more I would rather Romney was not associated with it. And even if Romney is the VEEP, is McCain going to let him have any influence on how the campaign is run. If not I would agree with SED that it will be a blowout in November and it would ruin Romney’s hopes for 2012.
Of course, as I said earlier, Obama is his own worst enemy and in the end McCain could eek out a victory.
I still think Obama and Hillary may hook up.
July 9th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
McCain is opposed to drilling in ANWR because he’s ignorant on the issue. He compared it to the Grand Canyon. All this proves is he’s never seen it and doesn’t know much about it. McCain challenged Obama to visit Iraq, which was a good call. I think we should challenge McCain, or both of them really, to visit ANWR so they can see it first hand and decide which is worth preserving, a vast wasteland of mud and rocks, or the American economy.
July 9th, 2008 at 8:28 pm
This morning Mitt was on Sqawk box and stated McCain is rethinking his prior thoughts on ANWR. We need to drill in this country. It’s mind boggling how many jobs this could create. Mitt was so sharp with those guys this a.m. I also fear for Mitt’s input, will Mccain appreciate his ability, will his ego let him???? Will it be Mitt? McCain continues to look unsure of himself to me, I feel at times he may have bit off more than he can handle. I sure hope not because we’ll loose this Fall. What a terrible comment Clinton, Bill made about POW”S flipping out at any time. He’s beautiful!!!! Didn’t mean anything bad, too late, the comment was terrible. We did entertain Mccain’s mental health as a curiosity here, but that was the extent of it.
