Great work, John. Like minded people are refreshing, aren't they? Mitt did well on Hannity last p.m. Read an article, he and Ann have a nice beachfront home on the ocean. I find the ocean waves " A washing machine for the mind." Mitt stated, he has always wanted to hear the waves crashing on the shore. Good for them, no, great for them!!! Yet another American dream accomplished!

Great news John. I'll be honest and tell you I haven't been very aware of Dr.Onder besides the press releases you post, but I'll have to go to the website and check him out.

Did you tell them they don't like us very much over there at TribTalk?

Everybody,

I attended a planning meeting last night with the Director of the Bob Onder for Congress campaign and Dr. Onder's wife, Alison. We all viewed Bob's latest TV ad, although I had viewed it earlier that day. Nicole Brown, from the campaign office, had emailed me the YouTube link and I had the chance to see it before I left for the meeting.

We met for an hour and had a great time discussing the new grassroots mailing system that the campaign is working on. This site and TribTalk came up in the discussion. Dr. Onder has done several Google searches and found his press releases on CommittedToRomney and is very grateful for the help we have provided.

One of the things that struck me about the evening was the chance to give feedback to the campaign by talking directly to Dr. Onder's wife, Alison. She is involved in the day-to-day media decisions, working with the media team on the direction that she and Dr. Onder want to see the campaign's message take.

She asked me what I liked best about the new TV ad. I said that what I liked was how the ad talked about three issues that are very important to conservatives and two of which are headline items. The ad mentioned the abortion issue, which is a bedrock issue with conservatives. The other two were illegal immigration and energy costs. I told Alison that immigration and gasoline costs are being discussed on a daily basis by the sites I am familiar with. I also told her I thought it was very effective to include the whole family in the ads. As I told her last night, when you, your husband and your six children walk through the door, you have already established your pro life "street creds." She laughed and said that's very true.

I also had the chance to meet the heads of two GOP clubs that are helping with the campaign and they asked me to email them with the site's address so that they can read our posts.

It was good to be with like-minded people and I am looking forward to working with them as the campaign gets closer to the Aug. 5 primary.

I guess we're all back to having started being committed to conservative principles in 2005. I never liked that tagline (although I understand its not what it sounds like) because its ripe for parody, especially since Governor Romney switched his policy position regarding abortion from effectively pro-choice to pro-life in 2005. I guess it doesn't matter since there aren't really any people coming here to knock Mitt anymore, but it just seems like an easy target if someone did. Then again I'm probably engaging in that trademark "useless rambling."

KKSM:

Yeah, sometimes I just feel like using this quote:

I didn't call you stupid, I called you a liberal.

You're right, its like bypassing the person who has a heart-attack and asking the wife!

In reply to your last line: the feeling is mutual ;)

Tami:

They are and they resort to verbal jousting! Keeping the Conservative/Republican movement is essential for the good of the country. Thanks :)

Steve Andrew, I am so proud of you!~ You really hold your own over there.

There is a pattern here, those people know as much about the LDS Church as they know about politics... nothing. Most of what I read on there was so full of misinformation it was ridiculous. Guess what, it is the same with their politics, they are really messed up in these two areas.

So, this is my conclusion. They are using 3rd sources for their info!!!! For instance, if I wanted to research a high powered company, I would go to that compamy, not to an outside source. So, it seems to me that they are getting spurious information in these 2 areas of politics and religion. And, notice the inhumility: they refuse to be taught the truth... that is a powerful powerful lesson in this whole thing. Get information from the source, not from someone that probably doesn't know.... and humbly accept the truth when taught from the source....

I am happy to know you Steve Andrew!!!!

BAH! You respond to his allegations of useless ramblings with MORE useless ramblings! Sir, you have given him insult. He demands satisfaction! On Mike's behalf, I challenge you to a dual! OK just kidding, I just thought his comment sounded a bit melodramatic considering you don't even have the site fully running again. Maybe there could be a separate photo page? That way we don't have to load all of the pictures every time we check out the site.

Mike:

I assure you, useless ramblings are not on this website. We are enhancing the quality of the site. We will integrate pictures in some way but must have accessibility and aesthetics in mind while doing so.

You must be new or a member who hasn't been here in awhile - glad to have you back Mike!

When does this site become a source for Mitt Romney again? All of the Mitt pictures are gone! Looks like the links to Romney related sites and information are gone! You all have ruined this site, to fill it with useless ramblings.

Well Steve, you may be right Sunday School can be less demanding and it is fun too. Being in a classroom can be pretty demanding on a daily basis. For me, it is worth it as those with special needs dispense rewards without even trying to or meaning to... It is a great life with them. I have also taught "normal" and wonderful kids like yourself. I thank God for kids like you everyday....

Whatever you decide to do, I have no doubts that you will do it will.... blessings

Born Sept. 15, 1992 (same as Prince Harry) - no joke.

It's very unlikely I'll go into teaching. I'm more interested in the corporate and political world. Much like George and Mitt Romney.

Perhaps I'll teach Sunday school at my church sometime? Probably be easier than regular teaching!

No way you are 16! are you kidding me???? I really gotta hand it to you for maturity. I thought you were some big political old guy! Nope, apparently you are one of those wonderful bright 16 year olds that I wish there were more of somewhere. I must say, you handle yourself well on all the boards I have seen your name on....

You are NOT kidding me are you??? I am very gullible.

Teaching is lots of fun. I love it. I teach special needs adults part time. If you do go into teaching, what would it be? You should seriously consider government and civics on a college level... I think you would be great at that.

are you sure you are just 16? I am blown away

KKSM:

I'm 16 and narrowed my career paths down to three, teaching was one of them. The other two were politics and business.

Teaching is cool though it doesn't pay as well as being in politics or business.

Yes Steve, I am a teacher.

What I lost however was a lesson for Church. I have the opportunity to teach women every 3rd month on the first Sunday of the month. I had a lesson prepared all about the founding fathers and them being led by a divine hand to do what they did. I had worked pretty hard on it. I had a lot of quotes from them about God and Jesus. I was pretty disappointed when my laptop froze at the very idea of printing. So, I went downstairs and redid the whole thing on my desktop.

I love to teach. I am confused. Are you a teacher now? Or did you nearly choose it and change your mind? If so, what do you teach?

Woow, cool new look!

I like it that I too feel Romney is coming up and has a great chance to be able to bless America in a way he is supposed to, in a way he can. I truly believe he can make a difference. There is another opinion letter about him today. It was very good. Some of the resulting comments have been good, others not so much. I think I shall go over and stir things up a bit. I did one this morning but it had never shown up... what a pity.

The lesson was lost, it took me 1.5 hrs to do it again and it was better by far the second time, although I did miss a meeting this morning as I pretty much slept through it. oops!

Romney Rising

Mitt Romney's surge toward the Republican vice presidential nomination was boosted at last month's Texas state party convention in Houston.

Romney, the predominant conservative choice to be Sen. John McCain's running mate, was pleasantly surprised to encounter a paid audience of about 3,500 for a Republican fundraising dinner. He received a standing ovation after delivering a conservative stemwinder.

A footnote: Vice presidential prospects for Bobby Jindal, the 37-year-old first-year governor of Louisiana, suffered when he vetoed a pay raise for state legislators after promising them he would sign it. However, conservative anti-tax activist Grover Norquist, who has boosted Jindal for the ticket, said the veto made him stronger.

All,

As you know, Ann Marie and Nate are working on correcting the posting problems we have had for the last 11 days.

Thanks to all for sticking with the site. Man, have I got some posts I want to put up!

The TribTalk site has really gotten it's tighty whiteys in a twist over me and Steve's posts. They go completely nuts when we post anything about Mitt Romney.

Another thing that has struck me about the posting problems. I take it as a "left-handed" compliment that they thought we were dangerous enough to their belief system that they tried to close us down.

KKSM: Sorry about your computer problem, It's so frustrating. Let us know, if your aok.
Hey, bad blood???? How about Kennedy and Johnson, Reagan and Bush 1????? I've heard many nice compliments from Mccain about Mitt and ANN, how they have grown to love them. Perhaps another lie????? I hope not!!!!!
John, After all I have observed this primary, I would believe anything for a politician to climb that White House Ladder!!!!!! REF. Crist and marriage. I would hope not as well, pretty shallow, I'd say. Maybe it is real, we'll see? More drama!!!!!!!This is beginning to feel like a soap opera!!!Got to check MSNBC. I wonder how much press that will get?

Steve and Mitt 10:

As I sit here with a huge computer problem, I decided to check in. I wanted to comment on the last 2 posts. I think the thing is called maturity. Mitt has greatly demonstrated it while McCain, I am not so sure of. Although, I kind of think he is getting better!

Well, that was short lived, my husband is here to try to fix my printing problem. This would be good as this is a whole lesson for tomorrow which I am praying is not lost.... KKSM

I really don't understand why everybody (not just the members who posted in the comments) get that there is a lingering dispute between McCain and Romney. John McCain and Mitt Romney understand that in the end, its all politics. Sure there might be an ounce of disappointment from Romney and an ounce of bitterness from McCain but as Romney has said, we need to ignore our differences and move forward together, for the good of the nation.

Mitt 10, I would be more surprised if Obama tapped Hillary for VP than if McCain chose Romney. While it seems to make sense to choose Hillary, I think the pride and animosity between the camps is little too much. Perhaps Hillary is hoping for another chance in 2012? I reckon that this election was the one for her if it was going to happen.

Obviously there is a lot of ill feeling between the Obamas and the Clintons. I think it's pretty obvious that this whole unity tour was a deal struck by the two. Obama will assist in raising money to help pay off her 30 million debt from the primaries. In return, Hillary will try and convince her supporters that the guy she has just slammed for the past 6 months is now, all of a sudden, well qualified to hold the highest office in the land.

I guess Romney had a similar challenge with supporting McCain but he has done a great job and even McCain's closest confidants have had to admit that, despite not liking Romney (I'm convinced it's because he is so much more suited for the job than McCain!), he certainly has been a tremendous aid to the campaign.

Jon I think Obama may want Hillary to help strengthen his bid for the White House. What say you? If he picks Hill, I think McCain will have to pick Romney. Then I think Romney may get vetted all over again. The liberal media is so anti conservative. I think it is Romney the Demo's fear the most.

All:

Nate Gunderson had a conversation with Ann and it appears to be that a bot hacked into our database and disrupted our files. In order to remedy the problem, Ann will attempt to update the version of WordPress we use and assign new passwords to the authors.

Nothing is set in stone but there might be a possibility that the aforementioned things get accomplished by or on Monday. Per Nate it seems that Ann is driving up from Florida back from her well needed vacation.

Hope everybody had a great fourth of July!

Not sure if you are saying this site has bitten the dust, or the politico.com site.

I just want you to realize that this site is having some problems and John and others are working very hard to fix it. I am sure it will be up and running as quickly as is humanly possible. In the mean time, everyone is just checking in here and posting whatever comes up on this thread. I hope it gets fixed so that those trying to fix it can relax. We appreciate all that the powers that be do for this site.

Where is Rusty??? What is going to happen with the VP petition? Is he still going to send it? I would say that soon would be very timely, with all the talk of vp etc.... KKSM

We appreciate all that the powers that be do for this site.

Where is Rusty??? What is going to happen with the VP petition? Is he still going to send it? I would say that soon would be very timely, with all the talk of vp etc…. KKSM

Wow, has this website just bitten the dust or what?

Romney tops McCain's VEEP list.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0608/11435.html

"Some of McCain’s closest confidants evince little enthusiasm for Romney, feelings that are owed in part to lingering bad blood from the GOP primary, a genuine skepticism that such a conventional pick could bolster the ticket in a grim year for the GOP and concerns about whether his Mormon faith could imperil McCain in Southern states that Obama hopes to put into play."

Even though Romney is the obvious choice (and nobody else really comes close), politico.com once again managed to drag up the Mormon thing and the "bad blood" issue. If there should be any bad blood, it should be from Romney's side after he got swift boated by the McCain-Huckabee tag team. Mitt was a gracious loser and has been McCain's biggest supporter since.

Obama has his own problems. Many Hillary fans are not as anxious (since Obama's not helping to pay off their debts) to jump onto the hope and change wagon to disaster.

http://www.observer.com/2008/politics/end-wes-clarks-v-p-campaign

The End of Wes Clark’s V.P. Camapign……Another Liberal Bites the Dust

It may ultimately be a good thing for Barack Obama that Wesley Clark stepped into such a mess when he discussed John McCain’s military service this week.

The background of the Clark flap is by now familiar: On CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday, the retired general said that “I don’t think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president,” a comment that has been portrayed by the right – and by much of the media – as an effort to disparage McCain’s service.

While Obama quickly rebuked Clark, much of the left has rushed to the Clark’s defense, noting that he was merely responding to a question that was almost identically phrased and that he was only drawing a reasonable distinction between

McCain’s military service and the experience needed to set U.S. foreign policy.
Clark’s defenders have a point, but in the bigger picture the details of the argument aren’t what’s important. The real significance of this week’s controversy – however unfair and unjust it is – is that it pretty much ensures that Clark won’t be on the Democratic ticket this fall, something that seemed a very real possibility beforehand. And Clark, almost certainly, would not have lived up to his potential as a running-mate.

I hope Crist wouldn't ask a woman to marry him just for political cover. He is an open borders politician and only recently started to support domestic oil drilling because public opinion demands it, so I don't trust him either.

Sorry, can't help about Montana, did see that show, I think it's critical who Mccain picks given his age. People are going to be looking at that very closely. I saw Mccain speak 8 yrs. ago, and then today. Eight yrs. has slowed him down a great deal! Of course that is natural, however ,we need a sharp mind and someone who can carry on if Mccain should fail. It's Mitt, anyone who can put aside all their pettiness should see that!!! He has not they say, FLIP FLOPPED any more than Obama and Mccain no. 1. No. 2 Freedom of Religion, period!!!!! And here we are!!!Enough folks loved him, he came in second Mccain!!!!! ( with a little help from his friends, Mccain that is)
Did you see the black lady who chose to sing The Black National Anthem, when asked to sing Our Countries National Anthem, is this how it is going to be????Sorry, folks, I can't vote for Obama, it's way too scary for me.
By the way, God ,Please Bless this land we call America. Have a wonderful 4th.
I heard Mitt was speaking in N.H. Lucky you!!!!!

ok, so I am listening to Hannity and Colmes and Dick Morris is on. He is going through the poll in Montana that shows Obama way up and over McCain. Do you think it would make a difference to Montana if Mitt was put on the ticket? I kind of do as he won the Primary there, or was it the caucus. I cannot remember, but I know Mitt won handily.

I am nervous that O would be over McCain in Montana as they are generally so traditional. Kind of scary... KKSM

Little stuff like this is going to get McCain. This makes the McCain campaign look weak and unorganized, which to an extent, it is. Governor Romney will go down as having the most organized campaign and this is the kind of help McCain needs in order to confide to the American people his message of hope and change.

Could be part evolutionary remember McCain went bankrupt in the summer and never put together much of an advertising or staff organization.

Also I think he came out of the primaries pretty broke. Probably just now getting the money together to start building a national organization which would involve surely promoting some and hiring others who you wish had the money to hire in the first place.

Im not huge political fan of McCain (though at least he didn't try to start a holy war to win 1 frakkin state ala huckster) But with articles like this you can see his core seems loyal to America and not just in a narrow ideological way like Obama.

Is this a sign of normal “growth pains” or symptomatic of an internal fight over the McCain Campaign’s message?

McCain: Staff Shakeup Part of “Natural Evolution”

By BETH FOUHY, Associated Press Writer

MEXICO CITY - Republican presidential candidate John McCain said Thursday that a shake-up in the leadership of his campaign was part of a "natural evolution" as the organization becomes more national in scope.

McCain's campaign announced Wednesday that top adviser Steve Schmidt would assume a broad portfolio of duties, with nearly full control over message and strategy. Schmidt will report to Rick Davis, who will keep the title of campaign manager but focus on longer term matters like the Republican National Convention and McCain's choice of a running mate.

Addressing reporters at the conclusion of a three-day visit to Colombia and Mexico, the GOP nominee-in-waiting downplayed the personnel shift.

"Our campaign continues to grow, and the responsibilities are expanding and Mr. Schmidt is taking over some increased responsibilities," McCain said. "Rick Davis remains the campaign chairman, campaign manager. It's a natural evolution as we become more and more of a national campaign with increased staff and increased responsibilities."

You can never rule out a possibility. That said, we are aren't the worst anti-Obama website. We usually only talk about Obama on the issues. We aren't spreading that he might be or was a Muslim.

I have been reading a little bit over there at TribTalk and you both seem to be doing a pretty good job. I haven't read all the threads but did scan a few. All I hear is Mitt is top choice for VP. I hope it happens but I want it to happen for more than just his fund-raising skills. He's more important and needed than that.
Cleavage? I must've missed that!! LOL Are you talking about Cindy McCain? Yeah I prefer the lady look like Ann and Laura have! I read somewhere the other day that many anti-Obama blogs had been shut down or not working... I know that this site isn't necessarily an anti-Obama blog as much as it is a pro-Romney one but I just wondered... could that be why this site isn't working right now? Just wondering... have a great day everyone! GO MITT!!
