Huckabee Schmuckabee
June 18th, 2008 Posted in 2008 Presidential Race, Huckabee, John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Presidential Politics, Romney
Well, Mr. Huckabee (that Schmuck he is), has taken his “Holier Than Thou” attitude and chastised people against “Demonizing” Barack Obama, now I don’t believe that anyone should go after Obama for his race, but I find it very tart of him to act like he’s all “high road” when he was the biggest damn bigot during the primary season going after Governor Romney with his sick attacks against his faith. Who in the heck does Mr. Huckabee think he is? Religious Authority of the United States of America? I don’t give a crap about what this low life of a politician has to say. He doesn’t have a bit of credibility period.

Huckabee is a “snake oil salesman” and thinks that everyone is stupid and blind and do not catch onto his deceptive, “slick talking” ways. The only ones who are blind to the truth are the die hard “Huckster” followers. I am not against evangelicals as I am one myself. But you’ve got to have more to stand on when supporting a candidate other than him saying over and over and over “I am the christian candidate”. Jesus said we will know them by their fruit. So where is the fruit of a christian in this man. He is a bigot, deceitful, and full of hate for Mitt Romney. And he displays it every chance he can get. And most of all huckster hates Romney for what the huckster is constantly trying to get, money and wealth. If you have got to bring up that you are a christian over and over again, it is my belief that you probably aren’t. They call those people “wolves in sheep’s clothing”. Selah!!! And Huckabee is still out there trying to climb the political ladder on his proclaimed christianity. He is a legend in his own mind!!

Once again with the mean spirited, profanity laced criticism of the Huckster…. While I agree that he’s unqualified for anything, I don’t think Gov. Romney would approve of your comments. Please get over your personal hurt feelings that Huck kept our guy out of the POTUS we all hoped and worked for
June 18th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Oh c’mon, give the guy a break. He’s just doing what he does best…playing the political opportunist. He played it all the way through the race for the Republican candidate and he continues to play it. He was always interested in politics even as a teen. He first went into the ministry (always with the intent to end up in politics) because he could see how easily people could be swayed by “the power of the word.” I don’t see him as a religious man, just one who has studied the bible and the art of rhetoric (too bad he didn’t study more about common sense, honesty, and good old fashioned decency).
I’m just wondering who he’s pandering to now. Is he hoping to win Obama’s VP spot since it looks like he won’t be getting McCain’s? Wow, a mixed ticket with Huckabee to help Obama win the south! Is he hoping to get a gig with CNN or MSNBC now that he has his foot in the door at Fox? Maybe it’s just because he’s been out of the news so long while Romney keeps winning GOP IOUs for all his work. Perhaps Huck Finn is just sorry he made himself look like such an idiot at the NRA convention…hmmmmmmm…no, not a chance. He’s on the high road of opportunity, and in his mind, things just keep looking up.

Amen, Ann, Amen.
In fact I’d rather have Barack Obama in office than Huckabee anyday.
June 18th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
Though I agree with your assertions I think it may be best to wait until raging emotions have calmed down to write a response. A thoughtful a fact-filled response will go a lot further than name-calling.
June 18th, 2008 at 3:14 pm
Honestly, Ann, tell us how you really feel.
June 18th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
I’m not L D S and I was offended , give them hell Ann Marie .
June 18th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
Sorry, Nate, no raging emotions here. Huckabee is an opportunist, through and through.
June 18th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
LOL. Well, perhaps Huckles is trying to swiftboat McCain, because he knows that his arch enemy, Romney, is on the ticket. No way can a Mormon get near the top seat. It’s his in 2012, so he thinks. I just keep picturing Huck as one of the seagulls in Nemo who keep crying “Mine! mine! mine!….” when tossed a bit of food.
June 18th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
It appears that Huck is trying to persuade everyone he is Mr. nice guy, not predudice,
compassionate, just soooo nice. Well, it’s too late. He showed his true colors during the primaries toward Mitt. He hasn’t lightened up since ,either. Every chance he gets, he slams Mitt again. It only makes him look like a fool!!!Don’t think for one minute it doesn’t
go unnoticed. People aren’t stupid. He is petty, jealous, and by all means he does not look at all Presidential, acts always Holier than thou. It was no mistake, he made that distasteful remark about Obama ducking the gun shot. He is clueless, he reminds me
of a country bumpkin. No class, no respect, no honor, and it shows. You can see a persons soul on their face, I rest my case!!!!!I’ve never thought he was quality, even before he started the Mormon attack. So Lee Ann, I’m with you, he cost us Mitt! I truly
believe that!!!! If Huck is on Fox, he’d better not slam Mitt, I’ll bet that’s his sole purpose for this position. I cannot believe they want him, he is a loose cannon!!!!!
June 18th, 2008 at 6:35 pm
I just hope he doesn’t spoil it again for Mitt in 2012. Nobody can stir up the evangelicals faster than Huck and his floating cross. By the way, Huck making an issue of Obama’s race is very similar to what he did with Mitt’s religion. He’s obviously got a strategy that works.
June 18th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
Wow! Testify, Ann Marie. Don’t hold back on our account! ha. What cracked me up the most was when his campaign manager Ed Rollins admitted that floating cross in the ad was intentional (after the primaries were over, of course.) Personally I don’t have a problem with a cross in a Christmas ad (although pretending a political ad for Huckabee is just there to promote Christmas is a joke) but does it not bother any of his supporters that he repeatedly LIED about it? Not to mention insulting everyone’s intelligence on the matter in the first place by denying the obvious. Oh, and Glenn Beck is talking up Mitt Romney as I type this on his tv show, about how Mitt was the only one who “gets it” on the economy and gas prices. I wasn’t intending to write about that but I heard it as I was typing.

Good to hear from you, Ann!
Go, Evelio!
Aaaahh, Mike Hypocritabee:
Hypocrite - n. one who plays a part on the stage, a dissembler, feigner. One who plays a part; especially, one who, for the purpose of winning approbation of favor, puts on a fair outside seeming; one who feigns to be other and better than he is; a false pretender to virtue or piety; one who simulates virtue or piety. (Webster dictionary)
Regarding Leslie’s comment referring to Huckabee’s floating cross ad: Ed Rollins, former Huckabee campaign manager, has admitted that the “floating cross” and Huckabee’s “negative ad against Romney that wasn’t” etc., were all really ploys to get free media - which means that HUCKABEE WAS LYING ALL ALONG. (http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowlny/news/huckabees_notsodivine_intervention_84634.asp?c=rss)
Mitt Romney is an American hero. His presidential campaign was the catalyst that opened America’s eyes to the rebuking roadblock of evangelical bigotry. The so-called praise-Jesus-hate-Mormons/Seventh Day Adventists/Scientologists/Muslims beliefs of many - NOT ALL - evangelicals has stripped the holy robes right off ‘em. The traditions of hatred toward Mormons they’ve been teaching in their churches for years echoes the same brand of hate that is taught in RADICAL Muslim madrasas. Frightening and appalling.
For all the wonderful evangelicals who deplore bigotry, thank you for your true American values! Religious bias is UNAmerican.
June 18th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
Ewww. I almost can’t even stand that his picture is on this site! I, too, was devastated by his hateful and bigoted comments throughout the primary season.
And I agree with many of you who say that Huckabee cost us Mitt. He did. No question about it. The ridiculous situation our party is in now with a “reach across the aisle republican” as our nominee really puts a pit in my stomach. If only Huck had withdrawn from the race! But he, of course, is too proud. And what a fool he looks like now because of it. Well, maybe the bigoted in America will have learned this lesson the hard way this time, and we’ll be more on-track for 2012. . . if Mitt (and the entire Romney family) wants to do this all over again. Honestly, I wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t. With religious bigotry or men like Mike Huckabee lingering, there’s just no way to fight it or to win.
I will be voting for McCain, but not really FOR McCain. It’s more of an “AGAINST Obama” vote, for me. However, if McCain is smart, decent, and humble enough to Mitt on his ticket, not only will I be voting FOR him, but I’d have a sticker on my car and I might, just MIGHT donate money to the camp. We’ll see what happens. The next few months will be long and frustrating, I’m sure. And now more than ever, may God bless America.
June 18th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
P.S. And I just wanted to say a quick “thank you” to all the evangelical folks out there who have had such kind words to say about Mitt and the work he’s done for the GOP. As a person who had many personal negative experiences with people telling me they would “never vote for Romney because he’s a Mormon,” it really lifts my spirits, truly, to see that not all those who call themselves “Christians” also profess hatred or other negative sentiments about Mormons or those of any different faith than theirs. My recent “eye-opening” to bigotry in America has been very difficult, personally, for me. I have found great strength in reading the “Evangelicals for Mitt” blog, along with growing my friendships with my own born-again friends. So, thanks to all the “Christian” Christians out there who have been a wonderful example to me of what it really means to follow Christ. You’re all awesome, and America will be a better place once the remaining bigoted few get over this hurtful and discriminative hurdle still in our country today.
June 18th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
Amanda, I have to say dido to that. Oh Huckabee. I have rambled on and on about him so much that I just don’t have anything left to say. All that I have to say has been said by the posts above.
Chris, thank you for the laugh. That is a perfect image of him.
To everybody, We need to forgive this man. I am slowly learning to and I guess it starts with not saying anything rude about him. He is who he is “a wolf in sheeps clothing” if you will. We must be above that and just ignore him and continue to get our friends used to the idea of Vice President Romney.
Lets do this for Freedom of Religion and the Right of Religious people of any stripe to hold whatever public office they want to. If we do it for anybody lets do it for Mitt and most importantly lets do it for God (oh what the heck, we need his help anyways because we are not going to turn this country around just on Human strength alone).
June 18th, 2008 at 11:11 pm
Very well said, Sarah. Please visit “Evanglicals for Mitt”. I enjoy reading the EVM blog at least once a week. I watch FOXNews all the time! If Huckabee even says one negative thing about Governor Mitt and his religion and then “tries” to apologize, then it’s good-bye to FOX and it’s on to CNN. Take care everyone.
June 18th, 2008 at 11:32 pm
Huckabee is a sleazy politician who acts like he is above everyone, as shown here. Coming from the same guy who thought it would be funny to make a joke about shooting Obama.
Fox has saddened me by bringing him on as a contributor. Maybe Huck has realized he isn’t cut out for being president of people of all religions, so he is simply going for President of Evangelicals. Either way I wish he would just go away, every time he speaks 10,000 animals die, gas goes up by $5/barrell and millions of TVs and computers are damaged because people just want to shut him up.
If he were to be McCain’s VP, I would campaign vigorously for Obama here in the swing state of PA. No way does that schmuck hold another public office, America hasn’t done anything nearly that bad to deserve such a cruel thing.
June 18th, 2008 at 11:59 pm
Huckabee reminds me of Clinton when it comes to double speak. I don’t care for him at all and I’m still not sold on McCain either. What to do. I guess a write-in is in order.
June 19th, 2008 at 12:04 am
By the way Ann, I have missed your posts as well. I like the down-home way you write. I find myself coming here less and less. Keep up the posts!
June 19th, 2008 at 8:51 am
Huckabee lectures and chastises us about making race an issue while he’s making race an issue.
Can’t this man go away?
