Gov. Romney Endorses Summers For Congress
I’d like to ask for some feedback from our Maine Mittheads. I don’t know anything about Charlie Summers and I am posting this not as an endorsement but as an FYI.
If you have followed Mr. Summer’s Congressional service, please post your comments. I’d like to get your take on his policy positions.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney endorsed Charlie Summers for Congress today.
Romney, a former presidential candidate, won the Maine Republican caucuses in February before dropping out of the race.
In a statement, Romney said:
“Conservatism’s strength is based in the belief in family, the individual, and the goodness of America and Charlie Summers embodies that strength. His experience in the private sector combined with his service as a Maine State Senator, as head of the Small Business Administration in New England, and most recently his service in Iraq make him the ideal person to represent Maine in the United States Congress. Charlie embodies the qualities necessary to effectively represent his constituency from the moment he is sworn-in as Maine’s next First District Congressman.
“Today, I am proud to endorse Charlie Summers and I encourage all my Maine supporters to actively campaign and vote for Charlie on June 10th.β
Summers said: “I am honored by Governor Romney’s support. Maine voters strongly showed their support for Governor Romney during the March Presidential caucuses and his strength among Maine voters will continue to build the momentum of this campaign through the primary and on to a win in November.”
Summers is running as a Republican in the First Congressional District.

Charlie Summers is a pro-abortion, pro-gay RINO. I’m pretty disappointed. His opponent in the primary received a rare primary endorsement from the National Right to Life. What does that tell you?

FYI Charlie, the Maine presidential caucuses were at the beginning of February. I know he was in Iraq then, but he should know by now.

Re the Summer’s quote: “… Maine voters strongly showed their support for Governor Romney during the March Presidential caucuses and his STRENGTH among Maine voters will continue to BUILD THE MOMENTUM of this campaign through the primary and ON TO A WIN in November.β [emphasis added]
Wise words about the influence Mitt has. Enthusiastically, untiringly, convincingly, Mitt is making a difference for the conservative cause wherever he goes.

Will Martin — that is the only kind of Republican you can get elected in Maine. Look at the weak sister Senators from that State.

I understand that. I don’t vote for someone just because they have an R next to their name. I didn’t vote for Olympia (I knew it wouldn’t be even close anyway) and the only reason I’m voting for Collins this year is because her opponent is wicked liberal and might actually have a shot. I will generally support the most conservative candidate, regardless of chance to win. I would vote for Summers’ opponent in the primary, Dean Scontras. I know he’s met Romney because I’ve seen a picture of them together.
It’s all moot though, because I live in the 2nd District and get to vote for this guy! http://www.fraryforcongress.com/ If you wanna see a campaign of a different color, check that guy out!
