who remembers the ending of Wizard of Oz? We saw the man - the wizzard - actually behind a curtain. I think this is what McCain is using Mitt for right now. He's keeping him behind the curtain, working things, while he gets out and 'looks good' because of Mitt.

The Irony is that Mama McCain told me to hold my nose and vote for her son. I did not do that. And I won't do that in the general election either. I'll vote for her son - only if he picks Mitt. I might consider others, but will turn tail and vote obama or write Mitt in if Huckabee is picked.

Paulee & Mike- Rove is trying to show McCain the only chance he has at pulling this off. Once Obama is named to dem nominee, the press is going to favor Obama. Plus Obama is going to come across with more energy and charisma than McCain. Romney would bring energy and life to the McCain campaign.

McCain should listen to Rove and HOLD HIS NOSE AND PICK ROMNEY. And if he won't I will not be holding my nose and picking McCain.

Leadership in Washington has failed to secure the borders and for now is has been lip service. Utah conservatives have made the decision to be more compassionate to those who have come here illegally. They decided that the federal goverment had failed to keep them out but we should not create a negative climate instead bring them in with programs to help adjust to the American way of life. They view some of these people as being very desperate and in need of compassion. Just another viewpoint.
I personally think the problem is a little more complicated than sending them all back but I respected MR's view that we are nation of laws and I trusted that if elected he would work tirelessly to get the problem under control. Doug Wright, radio broadcastor and Utah celebrity is one of Mitt Romney's biggest fans and he did not like MR's hard stance on immigration. I personally think that there are some laws in place that are complicating this issue. But I know that Mitt Romney would have found the best solution to the problem and would put the welfare of the American citizens First.
I do not like McCain's plan because it would only be a short term solution and I think we would have more of the same in the future. That is my two cents.

Paulee & Mike I enjoy your post. I am glad Mitt Romney has fans like you. I am in good company. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mit 10, your right on, I saw this as a problem for Mccain. Huck's people are too hateful to ever let Romney be on that ticket without a major uproar. I don't know about any of you, but I'm still hearing Romney. Everyone I speak to says they wanted Romney.
I'm sure Rove has done his homework, he has been saying Romney from the get go.
Don't forget, the team effort in Florida, it was Mccain, Lieberman, Crist, and Mel Martinez, for the latino vote. How would Mitt fair without latino's, due to his immigration stand? Geraldo, was pretty nasty towards Mitt, frankly said to him,
you will not get the latino vote if you don't stop being so unfriendly towards them.
Frankly, sometimes Geraldo has quite a big mouth.

Robert Novak said they would never consider Romney. It is interesting how this political reporters would have you believe they know it all, well Novak was wrong. Opps, I guess he changed his mind. They can do that but not politicans.

It just goes to show the political power of Rove and Bush. That speaks volumes about Romney. Rove and Bush believe Romney could seal the deal for McCain.

I think Obama could ask Hillary to be his VP and that will be a tough ticket to beat. I believe Romney could energize McCains dull campaign and make this a close race. I just think McCain is afraid that to many conservatives will want Romney as the nominee not McCain . He does not want Romney to steal the spotlight and the Huck supporters could really pull that ticket down. It is ironic that McCain used the anti mormon bias to propel him to the nomination and it is the very thing that could cost him the election. If he selects Romney... the Huck supporters will not support him. If he selects Huck, the Romney supporters will not support him. McCain is in a real pickle but one thing is for sure. Karl Rove is the master architect of George Bushs' campaign. He got George Bush elected 2 times. McCain stands a better chance of getting elected if he listens to Rove. I am sure that Rove has done his homework and I bet he has data that shows Romney could help McCain win. Oh, the irony. The man that McCain so anxiously destroyed in Florida is the only man that can help him win the White House.

I read the nypost article. It is pretty good, but it bothers me that he says McCain't complains about Bush and Rove pushing him toward Mitt.

It also gets on my nerves in an extreme way when the constantly tell the Evangelicals that they should be bothered by a "Mormon" in these positions. I wonder if the Evangelicals would forget about it if they were not constantly reminded.... bogus politicking in my mind...

Robert Novak [I think] is not much in favor of Romney. Too sad, if people could look beyond their own prejudices, we Americans might just have a chance to get somewhere...

Here is an interesting article in our local newspaper... some negativity, but all in all, an ok article about Mitt staying in the spotlight and how he and Huntsman could kind of cancel each other out.... We have 2 guys in out paper who verbally "duke it out" periodically. This is one of their more interesting pieces.

Jeff at NY for Mitt just posted that Barack has left the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

http://nyformitt.blogspot.com/

I'll never understand why it took Obama 20 years to figure out what most of the country learned in 2-3 months: these (former) friends--Jeremiah Wright and Father Pfleger--are not men of God.

They are political instruments who hate more than they love.
