Free and Strong America PAC: Mitt Romney’s Political Action Committee Dedicated to Rebuilding the Republican Party

This post is aimed at every Mitt Romney supporter who feels that the Republican Party and the country is headed in the wrong direction. If you agree that the guiding philosophy of the party has moved away from the conservative principles that made it great in the past, then here is your opportunity to steer the party back toward policies that Ronald Reagan articulated in the 1980’s and those that Mitt Romney spoke of in the primary campaign.

I hope you will visit Gov. Romney’s new website and that you will get involved. It promises to be great fun and I believe you will be rewarded with that feeling of accomplishment that only responsible civic involvement can bring.

May I be the first to point out the obvious? First the facts:

Mitt Romney’s PAC is called Free and Strong America
Mike Huckabee’s is called Huck Pac

Now the statement of the obvious (for those of you that just got back from Mars, or for some other reason missed the primaries):

For Governor Romney, it’s all about us, the nation
For Governor Huckabee, it’s all about him

Yet more evidence of this ongoing and recurring theme…

    ;)

  2. Tami Says:

Hey Frozone, I thought the very same thing as you did when I first saw the name of this PAC!! hehe This is exciting though.. I’m off to have a look around at his new site!

  3. Lizzy Says:

If one of the candidate’s he’s promoting is McCain, same ol’ same ol’ and not one red cent from me.

  4. Frozone Says:

Whether you contribute or not, you still have to like the Governor Romney’s selfless sentiment.

  5. Emily Says:

    Lizzy,
One can contribute directly to the candidates themselves or to the pac. So at the least it’s a nice vetting process for conservative candidates. These guys are the good ones and need our help more than ever this year. When I looked earlier, there were five and all were running for the U.S. House and I donated to each of them *something*; I hope to donate to all. All at that time were 100% pro-life according to the NRLC. I emailed to ask if all his pac’s candidates would be and am looking forward to the response. Also, a couple made strong border/ anti- illegal immigration stands front and center in their campaigns. These candidates are very conservative.

  6. John Cronin Says:

    To All,

I haven’t had a chance to read the Bios of the candidates on Free and Strong America, but the two that I looked at had strong pro border law enforcement stands.

This is exciting, I’m going to pay close attention to Gov. Romney’s site. This is EXACTLY what I hoped he would do between 2008 and 2012.

Someone in the local paper on a comment board said how “self motivated”, “selfish” and “greedy” Mitt is. Man o Man, did I have alot to say back at them… People just throw out things out of hate and vitriol and don’t even ever know what they are talking about. I spent a good deal of time on his site today and I am impressed as much by his site as I am with him…. KKSM

  8. John Cronin Says:

    KKSM,

I know what you mean about the anti-Mitt comments. Most of these people seem to have narrowly escaped being lunatics. I don’t see any intellect, it’s all emotion. And the emotions on display are hatred and jealousy. Sad.

  9. Emily Says:

    John and KKSM,
It is hard to have an argument with emotions, isn’t it. My fervent belief in regards to Huckabee supporters (they’re reachable, liberals aren’t) is to be as gracious as possible, whether deserved or not. Why? Feelings. He’s their guy, the one that they see themselves in, etc. One can’t make them feel good about Mitt if one is insulting them as an insult against Huck, in their eyes, is an insult against them. I truly believe further that many of the secular Republicans on the internet have done profound damage to the party by going overboard in mocking Huckabee and his supporters. Huckabee has some serious flaws, but most of his supporters are very good people. One may not be able to reach a hardcore argumentative Huck supporter, but there maybe several reading, listening to the debate and could be persuaded by the magnamity shown. In fact, the more hostile the other is, the more inspiring and appealing one’s graciousness and thus, argument.

Mitt posted his first blog entry on the PAC website today:

    https://www.freestrongamerica.com/blog/

Surf on over and check it out. What a great family. What a shame they cannot be the first family…

  11. KKSM Says:

I read that and what an awesome read it was. They are certainly profound people and you are right, too bad they are not the nominated family. It is what it is though and I shall TRY to be supportive.

I just heard Kevin Madden talking on Foxnews about this weekend’s events. As always, tried to keep a low profile….

  12. 2thepoint Says:

Emily, good comments. Most Huckabee people have good hearts so there’s hope that their goodness will transform those who are poisoned with prejudice into reason and enlightenment.

Romney supporters see “the big, AMERICAN picture” - beyond gender, social status, skin color, or religion. The higher a barrel of oil costs, the better the “blind” can see Mitt. Even bigots have to buy gasoline.

Thanks, Frozone for the “heads up” on Mitt’s first post on PAC. Four new grandchildren this year - congrats to all the Romneys on their new little angels. What a Kodak moment on the convention podium if he’s named VP!
