Contrast the remarks delivered by Mitt Romney at the NRA Convention, defending the sanctity of marriage, with the now infamous “joke” delivered by Pastor Huckabee.
BTW, does anyone know if Huckabee’s supporters are trying to spin this or are they hiding under their desks? Maybe we can send them some sandwiches, they must be getting hungry by now.

Is our country going deaf and blind ? Reverend Huck would be our Reverend Wright !
We as conservatives should not only ask our Republican leaders to balance the liberal candidacy of John McModerate but demand it as an organized conservative block. We must make it perfectly clear that McLiberal does not represent us and our values, so if McOld decides on the Reverend , my vote will go to Mitt Romney as a write in candidate for president……………………………………………..
NO MITT / NO MONEY / NO MCCAIN

yeah .. I’ve seen a number of comments from (what I would believe to be) Huck supporters. They are mainly saying “… get over it … it was just a joke!” or “… America has lost its sense of humor …” The furthest they will go is to admit that it probably wasn’t a very good joke, but most of them thought it was very funny and the MSM is in the tank for Obama & that’s the only reason people are upset about it(!) It doesn’t help that many Obama supporters are saying that Huck only said it because he is racist .. uh no .. he is equally disgusting across party lines & race lines .. thank you very much!

check this out for your viewing interest…. (not necessarily pleasure). Huckabee is an interesting man…. the comments after the article are the best part probably! KKSM

KKSM: Huck will prevail, this type of person always seems to come out on top!!!! Joke be darn, if Gov. Romney had said that comment he would have been critisized to death, apology or not!!!! Huck acts like a country bunkin!! I just can’t stand how this whole process is going. Mccain can’t show any enthusiasm, boring!!!!!!!!! What’s a person to do???? Write in Romney!!!!!! This is a total disgrace, is this all there is?
I can’t believe these candidates, it’s most distrubing. Your right the comments about Huck are the best part!!!!

I am a straight male, and confused about why people care one iota whether or not two people who love each want to marry. Who are same-sex couples hurting? If you think that they are hurting God, then let God handle them–hurt and anger, revenge and judgments–these are human traits that we attribute to God for our benefit. A perfect God does not shake his fist in anger. God made all of us–even gay people!

Hucksters are desparate for this to go away. I am hearing a lot of “can’t you take a joke?” from them. They make light of it, and dismiss the serious offense that it was. But this might be the one comment that ends his political aspirations. The Obama supporters and the media are hopping mad about it. Huckabee has just become a political hot potato. No other Republican will want him to campaign for him. I think HUCKPAC will soon disappear in a poof.

Huck is the gift to the democrats that just keeps on giving and giving. One can almost hear the conversation with John McCain going something like this:
Uh Mike? Can we ‘chat’?
“Yea boss, what is is?” “Golly, I sure like that sound - boss! You da man, John.”
“Your joke. Was not funny. In fact, you are not what I’m looking for in a veep. I need a guy who can think on his feet, and not allow garbage to spew out with ever opening. I need a guy with wit, but class. In other words, I don’t need YOU. ”
“But John, the deal was that if I acted as the Romney attack dog, you’d reward me in ways I could never imagine, if I was able to get him off your hind end. And besides, It was a joke! It took me a long time to thunk it up.”
“I will Mike. I made your back mortgage payments for you. You’re on your own from here on out. Now, fly away, little nat. Me and Mitt have some business to discuss….”
May 18th, 2008 at 11:59 pm
Chris,
I hope the discussion is like that. Unfortunately, McCain is as clueless as Huck is. They deserve each other. Mcain has one chance to redeem himself in my opinion, and that is to pick Mitt as VP. If he doesn’t, it’s adios from me.

Someone just reminded me that this was not the first not funny gun joke Huckabee told about a presidential candidate. He did the same thing to Mitt Romney. http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/mark-finkelstein/2007/12/27/huckabee-jokes-about-shooting-romney-will-msm-duck
Funny thing, though, there was not the appropriate outrage last time that there is this time. This guy is so unpresidential I am shocked that he think’s he is.

Final round of voting at GOP Nation blog. Mitt’s in the lead. Let’s keep him there if we can.

AOL VOTING FOR V.P. HUCK LEADS, LETS GET MITT SOME VOTES..
May 19th, 2008 at 11:46 pm
Well, needless to say Tami and Paulee and Mike, Mitt is not ahead anymore on that skewed poll at the gopnation. I do not understand what has happened to that poll. Paulee, way to go. Those people are so angry and so virulent! Unkindness rules over there. Perhaps that is the answer, nice people (with the exception of a few of us) are not going there any more. Any one think that may be it? I don’t get it, but Huck came up in that poll so fast it wasn’t even funny…. It is kind of fun fighting with them though.

Lori, that article about Huckabee’s tone is scary. His pastor title and yuckety yuck goof-ball persona is hiding a slimy, power-grabbing, money-grubbing, back-stabbing, attention-nabbing, miscreant.
I just have to say this - lately, as I’ve seen and listened to Huckabee, his “lisp” is getting on my nerves! I think it’s the way he says his “s” sound. Has anyone noticed this? The more he reveals his ugly self, I can’t stand the way he talks. When he opens his mouth I find myself looking at the way his lips twist around , and his teeth, and his attempts to sound wise and wonderful… grosses me out. VP? I could toss my cookies!
May 20th, 2008 at 6:22 am
2thepoint: I’m laughing, I have seen his teeth, been grossed out by his body language, I think one of his eyes is lazy, and yes his speech is different. I know God
made us all, however, there are great dentists and if he had any pride he would fix his teeth. Oh but wait, he doesn’t have any money. My answer to that is, get a job, this is America, you can even have more than one! Honestly, I can’t respect him, he does not show as a VP, or act or talk as a VP. NO WAY! NO WAY!!
KKSM: Hey you, your no slouch over at gop., either. They deserve all that they get. They are so one way, against Mitt!!!! I don’t get why they excede him so quickly over there either. Maybe they all are like Huck, don’t work!!!! In which case, they are probably on all the freebies the government has to offer, and guess who pays for that?? Another beat the system group more than likely. I say, go to work , start a service or business, do volunteer work, get motivated, it’s far more healthy than knocking Mitt, who would have the credentials to get this mess back on track!!!!
Where will this all end up???? God help us!!!!!I don’t think he is happy, look at the world turmoil. It is really sad, isn’t it??? Is anyone getting the messages?
It is not Hucks messages, he is not pure of heart. Only my opinion.

Hey Lori, “s” stands for “smarmy” and that is how I see this man. I am like you, there is a handful of people I just cannot stand looking at or watching and he is one of them…. idky, icky!
Paulee, thanks for the complement. I try over there. It is kind of hard to hold my tongue especially when that one post called Mitt that vile name… didn’t like that at all. I like your prayer. Some days, I think prayer and God is all we have left, there is certainly not much to turn to down here. Just keep talking to HIM and then leave it up to him I guess is all we can do! KKSM
May 20th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Oh, Paulee, your “one of his eyes is lazy” makes me laugh so hard, too! My dear, departed Grandpa had a lazy eye, but he was so kind and good, that I never noticed it. It wasn’t until his funeral that I learned about his eye and it didn’t matter at all.
I’m sure you feel like me - that a person’s SPIRIT is what truly matters - not their appearance or speech. But when someone is so bigoted, hypocritical, mean-spirited, and self-serving as Huckabee - after having watched them for a time - their idiosyncrasies and oddities become more noticeable. Now, seeing and hearing Huckabee makes me feel like I’m stuck in “Three Stooges” re-runs: perpetual pokes in the eye, yuck-yucks, and body-on-the-ground leg-spinning circles! So, Curly wants to be in the White House… McCain, don’t go there!
Mitt Romney may need to steer clear of the whole cartoon!
Wishing all of you great Americans a wonderful day in the land of the free!
May 20th, 2008 at 9:27 pm
Again, Mitt was on his game on Fox and Morning Joe, Mccain is so lucky. Mitt also acts so much like a great sec. of state. He speaks for Mccain more than anyone. It’s been constant TV spots, you all have noticed that I’m sure. Rather strange, something has to be up. I’m not sure what, driving me crazy.,
2thepoint: Bless your Grandpa’s heart, isn’t it wonderful to have those wonderful memories. I had to laugh at your comments, It felt great to belly laugh, struck me so funny, Thanks.

How could Huckabee possibly get more votes than Romney? Is it because Kentucky is in the south? Romney even came behind Ron Paul, that nutty dude! I just do not understand
