A Romney/Jindal ticket in 2012 would be great but lets not get too ahead of ourselves. We need to focus on this year. That being said I wouldn't mind a Romney/Palin ticket either though Governor Palin needs to become more prominent in national politics. I am thinking a start for that would be if she stepped up the pace and buy part of ANWR back from the feds to drill for oil in Alaska. She could bring up the fact that when 80% of the people of a particular state wants something done the Federal Government should step our of the way and let the people of that state decide for themselves. The Government wants to take credit for creating Jobs but they (including John McCain) are standing in the way of making Jobs for 80% of the people of Alaska. I just don't think Governor Palin has handled this aggressively enough.

Of course anyone from Alaska can correct me. We thought must still focus on this year and this particular presidential race. I have a good feeling that Romney will run again and then we can start contemplating a Romney/? ticket. Right now though we want to make it a McCain/Romney ticket.

To those who are concerned about the VP poll that keeps coming up. Don't worry about it. It's an easy to bias gimmick and the Huckaholics don't have anything better to do. - P

Bigmo ...set our party up for quite possibly a 16 year run in the White House between them.

That would be GREAT!

Jim,
I think Mitt is a once in a lifetime candidate. I'll definitely be supporting him in 2012 if that option is available to me. However, I'm a fan of Bobby Jindal too. When 2016 rolls around, if Mitt isn't elected in 2012 Governor Jindal would recieve my strong consideration. If Mitt doesn't run in 2012 for whatever reason, I would probably support a Jindal run as well, though he might be a bit young still. I mean, in 2012 the guy will be 41. I think a Romney/Jindal ticket in 2012 would be a real powerhouse, and would set our party up for quite possibly a 16 year run in the White House between them.

Ron,

I'm sure Frank is a great guy, but I'm sure Frank to Bobby Jindal is not a 1:1 comparison.

What drew me to Mitt can be summed up in two words "Capable Conservative." Before, I could draw the distinction of being capable between Mitt and any other Republican candidate. Now, I'm questioning whether Mitt would be the sole owner of the "Capable Conservative" title if Bobby Jindal were to enter the race (see---> http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=25779). At any rate, I am keeping my options open. I am glad to see leaders like Mitt and Bobby emerging in the Republican Party.

Ron, Mitt's experience out here in the real world is exactly what drew us to him, as well. He's so well-rounded in all the areas that count. We need more business heads
in Washington, successful, been there, done that, and is a doer!!!!!!!

Anyone want to enlighten me as to why Huck is so far ahead of Mitt?? Can we all
go to gopnation.com AND VOTE. WE ARE TAKING A BEATING!!!!!!!

Jim,
What a perfect time to review what first drew me to MR and why I think he will be a great president. Unlike career politicions like Ted Kennedy, and others, who have never had a real job in their lives, MR can say "been there, done that". Very few of those who ran this year, or those who may run in the future, can actually point to a successful career in the private sector. If I simply wanted someone who had exactly the same stance on issues as I do, I would pick Frank. He's my neighbor, but he certainly doesn't have the ability to run the country. MR has proven that he can get the job done.

A little off topic....

I was huge Romney supporter because I thought he was the best candidate for 2008. With that in mind, I've been so impressed with Bobby Jindal that I've left open the door to supporting him over Romney if they were to both run in 2012 or 2016 for the Republican ticket.

Would any of you be opposed to Bobby Jindal for prez in 2012? He seems to be a rising star that conservatives can unite around. He also has a conservative past, and doesn't have to answer questions about changing positions on issues. He seems trustworthy and he is getting things done as governor of Louisiana. Any objections?

I just "stopped by" Sean Hannity's website to see who he was having on his show today. I love listening to his shows. Anyway, I saw that he was going to have Mike Huckabee on his show again today. He was on just recently it seems too. I went to his contact form, and sent the following to Sean Hannity:

I love listening to your show and would love for you to have Mitt Romney on again - both on your radio and television shows. I see you have Mike Huckabee on again today and he was on recently before too. I know you are a fair guy and give equal opportunity to pretty much all. Please invite Mitt Romney on your show again. I want him to remain in the spotlight. I would love John McCain to choose Mitt as his VP!! What a great ticket that would be!!!
Thanks and have a great day!

Border laws, the "fence" and illegal immigration are topics that have gone into HIBERNATION since Romney dropped out of the race.

Once a nominee emerges from the Democrats and debates/dialogue begins in earnest between the two presidential nominees, this NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE - securing our border - must be resurrected! It will be very interesting to hear if John McCain has learned anything beyond his "We made a mistake (failed immigration bill) and I hear you. Americans want a fence." Yes, we want a fence and so much more - whatever it takes to secure our southern AND northern borders!

Bush really missed the boat on this one, too.

Romney is our "border buddy!"
