Perhaps I’m alone here, but I think her answer is completely acceptable and reasonable. And, incidentally, it’s the same courtesy I extend to Gov Romney’s claim of being a life-long hunter and seeing MLK march, etc. The point these folks are trying to make is one that they beileve and that has some basis in their experience that they’re trying to convey. That they exaggerate is take rhetorical license for impact is understandable and forgivable in my mind. I also think it’s pretty pervasive among politicians and anybody who criticizes their opponents on this basis (Obama… McCain… Huckabee) have or will have plenty of opportunity to feel like a hypocrite when it happens to them.

    My two cents.

sure am glad your wrong about Mitt

    CoachNY- Mitt has hunted!
He spoke figuratively about MLK’s march. His father did march with MLK and evidence was found that supported that.
I think Hillary statement is she ran from sniper fire. Did that happen? NO!

She could have been speaking “figuratively” as well when she said she ran from sniper fire (to be dramatic). Or she could have just remembered it incorrectly. Or she could have been lying. But I’m always amazed at the concessions people make for their own candidate when they won’t budge for the opposition.

Mitt “has hunted” is not qualitatively the same in perception or substance as him being a “lifelong hunter” and you know it. You’re just willing to forgive the man you favor.

Keep in mind, Mitt’s my fav. Never been so involved in politics, and Mitt’s the one that got me to do it. But it’s annoying to me to see Mitt supporters forgive every misstep he makes while raking the opponents over the coals for something extremely similar (examples with McCain, Huckabee, and Hillary all come easily to mind).
