I suspect RC is right. We sit out here and feed off of each other and because of that are at least somewhat informed. Untold thousands don't have a clue what is happening unless it is on American Idol next week. Because of this attitude, they are easy prey for a rock star in an empty suit who would take things from other people and give the things to them.

For Mitt (or anybody else) to change that, the public would have to think there was a catastrophe either in progress or just around the bend. Look at how easily they are manipulated by the Global Warming scam.

It will take Mitt a long hard next few years to overcome the public intransigence and sell himself as the fixer. The media will be a huge task to overcome. He would have to be bigger than they are. His task will be bigger than Reagan's was. I hope he wants to do it, and there are enough people willing to help him.

There was very little wrong with the agenda during the nomination process. Huckabee of course threw a monkey wrench into things. The Momon issue was part of it. And I'm in South Carolina. The fact that Romney was from Mass was a giant thing here. It was Huckabee, Mormonism, and Yankeeism that split the conservative vote and gave South Carolina to McCain.

Governor Romney has sold us because we listen and thought. There aren't enough people doing that yet. Even now Huckabee would win the South. Too many people identify him as "one of us" even if he is a charlatan. Lots of work to do. Go Mitt! - P

Mit 10, you said:

"For Romney to win in 2012, a democrat would have to be in office for the next 4 years and our country would have to get worse and then Americans would be ready for a conservative republican to fix our country."

I agree with everything you said but one little part, that "Americans would be ready" to "fix our country". I believe our Country is in a major and historical crunch right now and "Americans" were not ready for a conservative to fix it. I don't think they will be ready then, either.

We are at the Crossroads. Our Country is in peril and our rights as well. So, where is our "Conservative" leader who Americans can vote for to "fix" it? My point exactly. But I do agree with you on all other points.

Prayers and lots of them is the right idea! I believe we need to be a praying nation. At any rate, it couldn't hurt. I have prayed steadily since Mitt first entered the race. I have prayed extra hard since he suspended his campaign. This is a very good man and America really needs him. I wish all the hate would go away and all the inability to judge correctly would right itself. Mitt is such a good man. It is just terribly sad that he was so villified... what a shame. Pray on!

Thanks Paulee and Mike. I agree. People did see the light to late and failed to get informed or trusted MSM. Romney was the best man for the job and I recent the republican party for not supporting him when he was leading in Iowa and New Hampshire. They never played up the momentum when he had it. McCain should honor Romney with the VP slot however some are counseling Romney that it would not be in his best interest politically. For Romney to win in 2012, a democrat would have to be in office for the next 4 years and our country would have to get worse and then Americans would be ready for a conservative republican to fix our country.

we strongly feel that Mitt was let down, people saw the light to late for him to provide us with enthusiasm, hope, morality, business expertise, and from the outside
with no strings attached. He told us this. Did we think we had forever. We have to express our need for this good man. Write e-mail whatever to RNC!!!!!!!
Any of Mccain's good old boy network will only be more of the same. Is this enough????? Even Mccain admitted Mitt had taught him alot during debates.
Let's face it, it was just plain old jealously on Huckerbee's part & Mccain. So, they
all doubled and triple teamed him. However, he won both of the last two debtes.
He won second to Mccain in delegates. Mccain says he doesn't know anything about
the economy, surprised???? Well he should hold his nose and honor our country
with Mitt Romney.
                                     Mainely yours

How much more evidence do Republicans and Americans concerned about this country need before they realize that Mitt Romney is the ONLY adult who has the experience and the ability to lead this country in these trying times? He is a Washington outsider who has the courage and business expertise to make the hard decisions necessary to turn our problems into strengths. The Fred Barnes article this weekend mentioned the only weakness the Democrats could really emphasize was the one that Ted Kennedy used when he was almost beaten in his home state by Mitt - that Mitt Romney "laid people off" when he turned around the failing economy in Mass which actually resulted in MORE JOBS for the people there. - obviously not something Democrats want voters to understand. Government is too big and Washington is broken - we need excellent repair man ASAP - that man is Mitt Romney.

Glenn Beck also referenced some recent polling data today that American TRUST talk radio much more than they do television or MSM - the problems for Washington and the lack of obvious enthusiasm especially evident in the Republcan Party is that supporters have lost faith in their leaders and do not trust them. Mitt is not one of the "in crowd" - he will not be intimidated by old friendships or alliances - we must wake up to that fact and get some enthusiasm stirred up for him. TIME IS RUNNING OUT - I hope McCain has the god sense to choose Mitt as his VP.

Excellent article..............The Republican Party is BROKEN. The only way to salvage the Party is to have Mitt Romney as the VP. If he is not, even though the Democrats at this time may go to a brokered convention, the Republican Party will lose again.
