  1. Steve Says:

Rumors of what? A veep spot Vic?

  2. Vic Lundquist Says:

    Rumors.

We shouldn’t repeat them. Let’s see what they discuss Tuesday. I am sure Hannity will mention rumors he has heard.

  3. Steve Says:

Ah, I see. Thanks for the heads up Vic; have a good nacht!

  4. SGS Says:

Vic, but still, why should Mitt be back in the spotlight if he has suspended his campaign? The only “rumor” I have heard was that he is being drafted by his supporters to run for Senator against Kerry. Is this the reference you are talking about?

  5. StevenInBrooklyn Says:

Mr. Lundquist, thank you for keeping the faith (in a matter of speaking ;-)

    Steven

  6. Vic Lundquist Says:

Thanks Steven in Brooklyn. I love that view of Lower Manhatten from Brooklyn!

SGS: Rumor? See article by Barnes I posted above this one.

  7. StevenInBrooklyn Says:

Actually, the view from the Brooklyn Bridge is even better (its a great walk). If the rumors turn out to be more than rumor, I’ll send you a photo of a certain banner on the bridge!

  8. EVELIO PEREZ Says:

I AM HOLDING MY BREATH !

  9. David D Says:

Vic, do you know something we do not?

  10. Vic Lundquist Says:

    David D: I do not.

The only thing I know is that there continues to be a crescendo of important political figures putting pressure on McCain to put GMR on the ticket.

  11. Leslie Says:

    Vic:
Could it be that the reason Josh Romney decided not the run for office was because he knew that his dad was going to be picked as the Vice Presidential nominee, and he didn’t want his campaign to detract from his father’s campaign?
That coupled with the Mitt sight up and running, plus Mitt on Hannity and Colmes, plus Ann Romney’s brother pointing out that article to you, are all signs to me that Mitt is being seriously considered.
Vic, is it too early for me to get my bumper sticker McCain/Romney 2008?

  12. Jon Says:

I think you might be onto something Leslie. Let’s hope you’re right on track. That’s the only way McCain will get my vote and the vote (or any donations) of a number of other Romney supporters I know.

  13. Vic Lundquist Says:

Leslie, yes, too early I think. It is nice to speculate though, isn’t it?

  14. 2thepoint Says:

Leslie, I had the same thought.

It’s interesting that Mitt’s new website is up and running NOW - allowing enough time for word of its existence to get out - PRIOR to his appearance on Hannity and Colmes on Tue. night. Smart.

As speculation mounts, so does suspense…

  15. Renna Says:

Let us all hope our dream comes true - an M&M ticket for victory in 2008. We will not vote for McCain WITHOUT MITT and we will not contribute to the RNC WITHOUT MITT.

  16. Rebecca Says:

I didn’t think I wanted Mitt to be associated with McCain, but as I’ve been thinking, whatever happens in November–the more people get to know and see Mitt, the more they like him. It would only help him become president in 2012!

  17. Doria/Texas Says:

That’s right. No contributions to the RNC until McCain offers the VP position to Mitt Romney. Now, if Mitt Romney does not accept the VP position, then I guess I have to think about giving my vote to McCain in the November general election, but still no more contributions to the RNC until the party gives Romney the respect and endorsements he deserves.

  18. paulee&Mike Says:

We are with all of you, no money to RNC until Mitt is the V.P. candidate . M&M for 2008
Great for Mitt for the future, as well. Wish him well for appearence on Hannity at 10 p.m. tonight. He’s the best and we need a turnaround, it seems we are going to heck in a handbasket!!!!!!!! We need someone that understands how business works, honest, loyal, has family values, and appreciates his good fortune and
is willing to share his knowledge with his country. AND no strings attached, working
    in Americans best interest!!!!!!!!
We hope it’s you Governor Romney & Ann!!!!!!!
    Mainely yours

  19. Debbie Says:

I agree only way to vote for McCain.

  20. StevenInBrooklyn Says:

Heard Ed Morrisey and Hugh Hewitt’s producer arguing, pretty presuasively that it makes no sense to name a VP until, at earliest the time of the D’s Convention Would love to be wrong on this…

  21. Darrell Says:

Am I the only one that doesn’t want Mitt sullied with McCain-policy? I hate the idea of Mitt as McCain’s VP. Mitt is a leader, not a 2nd fiddle man.

I want Mitt to take the Reagan path & work the back room conservative movment into a frenzy on the issues he pressed during his campaign… family values, supporting children (Ocean, etc.), military streangth, etc.

I do not want him to be saddled with McCain’s sure to be record of dismal domestic policy come 2012.

  22. StevenInBrooklyn Says:

Darrell, sorry, but you are assuming (1)McCain won’t win; and (2) the VP is necessarily tied super close to the P. The bottom line is that McCain’s forte (real or perceived) is foreign policy, and that he is weak on the domestic front. Assuming McCain and Governor Romney can reconcile/come to some compromise re the carbon credit issue (not sure how, with “la chose dite McCain-Leiberman), Mitt as VP would be grand He could focus of domestic matters, which, given the current state of the economy would look great in the fall campaign.

Please, PLEASE, lets not Obama-ize Governor Romney. He is not a pseudo-savoir. He is a great man and a very competent leader. In the VP slot, given sufficient authority, he could do great things; a Cheney for domestic policy. hHe might be able to take over when/if McCain doesn’t run again. Or, he could run after two McCain terms.

And, to put it a bit harshly, please stop pretending that a Obama and/or Clinton Presidency would not be ruinous for the country. We need to do everything possible to get McCain elected. If you feel you must hold your nose a bit in this regard, fine. But please…get some perspective.

  23. Linda A Says:

I just got through watching Mitt on the Hannity and Colms show tonight. Mitt has so much charm!! I think he will accept the VP slot and McCain will probably ask him to. I have that a bit turned around, first McCain has to ask him, and then our good Mitt Romney will be honored to accept. Forgive me for sounding a bit over excited, its the first time I have seen Mitt since he broke my heart and everyone else’s heart with the Cpac speech. Ann what are you feeling right now? I thought about you and what was going through your mind while watching the interview. Mitt didn’t say anything out of character, he didn’t say anything he shouldn’t have, he was pert near perfect!!! Oh Thursday McCain will be on the show, H &C. For a full hour too!!!! Should be very interesting.
