I had one argument before one of my classes one morning when I was in School about Ron Paul with a die hard supporter of his. It went like this "Romey is a flipflopper and not a conservative. Go with Ron Paul" said she, "What?!? Mitt only fliped on ONE issue, abortion and he became more conservative. Ron Paul is so RADICAL." Said I. After that she didn't want to talk about it more. I tried to reconcile the next day, but she wouldn't hear it. I swear I was talking to a liberal. Her mentality was "I am right, you are wrong so I am not talking to you." This small spat was right after Romney's faith in America speech. I asked if she had heard the speach and she said "No." I also asked if she would and I got not reply. She said that "I don't think a Mormon will become president." That go me mad. I go to the LDS church owned BYU-Idaho. I was perplexed "Doesn't that mean that you don't hold out chances of yourself become president" I though to myself. I still think that. I am Mormon and want to become president. I have ideas that I feel will benefit this country...OKAY I DIGRESS. Ron Paul has some radical ideas, but in reality are they as radical as was the Founding Father's idea of a Government by the people. I don't believe the Ron Paul was the best standard bearer of the ideas he believes in. I believe he is conservative to be certain, just a different type o conservative. The above train of thought that the young Ron Paul supporter gave though reminded me as if I was talking to a radical liberal. If we are conservative. We must be careful not to use the same arguments as the liberals. And if we do use the same arguments we must be careful not too sound to radical.
