"Progressive conservative"? What a oxymoron! Those editors are almost as idiotic as New York Times! From Dictionary.com...

Progressive: "favoring or advocating progress, change, improvement, or reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are, esp. in political matters"

Conservative: "disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change."

I agree, RC.

As dopey and pesky as Mike Huckabee is proving himself to be, he is going to be problematic in 2012. While not all Evangelicals are Huckabee adherents, the vast majority of them are. They are blind to the real man hiding behind preacher's robes. For example, a video-blog on his website compares him to the late, great John Wayne and that if Wayne were alive, he would vote for Huckabee. Another video-blog touts him as the "champion of the conservative right - that "FATE made him run and HOPE will make him WIN." Win?!! Who are these people?

Huckabee supporters are being encouraged to use phone bank down-time to call companies who advertise on FOX news to inform them that they will no longer be buying products from sponsors who advertise on "unfair Fox News."

If the best, real HOPE for America - Romney - should decide to run for Pres in 2012, the collective, bigoted muscle of this group will seek to get a choke-hold on Mitt, just as they did this go 'round. We can only hope that Huckabee's flaws continue to manifest themselves, regardless of his under-dog rhetoric, as he pursues his fool's errand in front of our very eyes.

Yes RC, if we could travel back 2,000 years in time to Palestine, we would witness the established religions (and media) of the day pumping out all sorts of propaganda against Christ and his followers. I have no doubt that the term "Christian" back then had far more negative connotation than "Mormon" does today. Christians were probably branded as a secretive "cult" in the hopes that they would be marginalized (and finally disappear) in the eyes of the uninformed public. So much for that huh?

Also, Huckabee is a religious zealot in word only. His actions speech much louder than whatever garbage he spews from the pulpit.

Evangelicals are blind just as the Pharisees were blind in the days of Jesus. They would rather pardon "Barabbas" than have a Mormon or McCain win the nomination.

I am a Christian and I voted for Mr. Romney. One day, Evangelicals are going to wake up and realize the error of their ways. But then, it will be too late. They will reap what they have sown. The Huck is definitely not a conservative. But is very unethical, in more ways than one. I don't think America is ready for a religious zealot as President.

MIT 10: I felt the same way for a while. As far as not voting. But, too many people have sacrificed for me to be able to cast my ballot for my Country. The media should report the news, I agree, and stop trying to pick our candidates. Like the Supreme Court, enterpret the Constituion, not make laws. I will be voting.....

On one of the late night talk shows he said he wanted to gay vote. I wonder what the evangelicals think of that. In the past he has spoken out against gays and their lifestyles. I know GMR was supportive of gay rights but not of gay marriage. I appreciate GMR positions on that matter. Huckabee makes no sense and I wonder why his supporters can't see him for what he is.

I have stopped following the presidential race. I may not even vote.

DMN endorsement will make no difference to the nomination. Huckabee is a joke of the republican party, and America is seeing that he is doing it for his ego and pocketbook to sell more talking engagement. It so sad!

This is, of course, the same newspaper that declared illegal immigrants "Texans of the Year.". Huck can file this away along with McCain's endorsement from the New York Times.

Will someone please explain to me how a newspaper can endorse a candidate and even CLAIM to remain objective in their reporting? They can't. But some good does come out of such a ridiculous practice... it tells you a whole lot about the newspaper and the tone they take on the issues of the day.
