Yes Renna, my feelings exactly. The only chance McCain has of getting my vote is if MR is his VP. All the same, I'm not excited about Romney being VP because it's such a waste of his talent, unless McCain steps down/expires before the end of the first term. A highly improbable scenario with McCain anyway. So c'mon Johnny boy, surprise me!

Otherwise, I will be writing in Mitt Romney come November.

Remember as well that Churchill's second term was a political disaster as he acted and was far too elderly for the challenges of post war Brittain. I think Harrison sounds a little too spry for Mccain.

McCain's age is a very important consideration to make. I found this article comparing McCain to Harrison our 9th president. http://www.theconservativevoice.com/article/30828.html
Many similarities between the two. That is why who he picks as VP is crucial. Romney should be the VP choice. www.unitethegop.com

I believe John McCain is too old to be in office, but the Wall Street Journal article is fair and unbiased in showcasing other great leaders of advanced age. I can't say that the rest of the MSM coverage has been unbiased these past few months. With their constant and aggravating head-to-head polling these last few months, they got just what they had been pushing for: an Obama/McCain match-up. Mitt didn't fit into that picture, and of course, Hillary doesn't either. Now Hillary is being told to leave the race as well. I'm not a huge Clinton fan, but I see that the MSM are now doing to her what they did to Mitt --making her appear to be a loser and asking her to just go away. Isn't is great that Time, Newsweek, NBC, CBC and FOX are now picking our candidates for us? It is so wonderful to live in a democracy where we no longer have to think for ourselves.

The only consideration I have given to McCain's age is the VERY reason he will not be elected - the youth and enthusiasm and ability to arouse the young vote of Barack Obama. Side by side in a debate, the ineffectiveness of John McCain will be clearly demonstrated - as it was when positioned next to Mitt Romney in the Reagan Library debate - he is NOT Presidential, he does NOT speak well and communicate clearly and that is critical to the electorate after 8 years of George Bush(God Bless him) who could not speak and/or communicate clearly. I will NOT vote for John McCain UNLESS Mitt Romney is his VP running mate. No other candidate he might consider will have the advantage of being known, understood and recognized as much as Mitt. He has spent the past year getting his message out, his face and name are well recognized and his leadership experience and personal successes as well as his strong family values have had thorough analysis. He has been observed as a great statesman with his Faith and CPAC speeches, over 4,000,000 voters supported him before he suspended his campaign and many more millions were denied the ability to show their support. He received 31% of the vote in Florida, in spite of the high profile endorsements he received and the last minute lie from McCain about Iraq troop withdrawal. These numbers and these facts cannot and should not be ignored if the Republicans have any hope of winning in November. There is no other EXPERIENCED person who can have the impact and success as a leader than Mitt Romney. I will write him in if he is not the VP OR the actual nominee for the Republican Party. McCain is not a conservative and his actions are not those of a Republican.

McCain's age has never been a factor for me in determining the qualifications for President. I respect the wisdom and insight of the elderly. But with that, it is the present-day issues and his positions as it relates to those issues.

I will not cast a vote for McCain, because of his position on abortion, marriage, the border, gun-control, embryonic stem cell, taxes, entitlements and foreign policy. McCain is definitely on the LIBERAL side of all these issues. This is the reason I am NOT voting for McCain. I will not vote for McCain just because he is on the Republican "ticket". This is the least of my worries.

So the bottom line is, McCain's age does not bother me in the least. It is his position on the issues that scare the hell out of me.
