Vote FOR something or someone. If you can't bring yourself to vote FOR something, then you shouldn't be voting. It is stupidity of the highest order to vote AGAINST somebody, or to cast a "protest" vote by supporting a candidate that is the antithesis of your values simply to send a message (or massage ;) ).

So David, I support you because you are FOR Romney, but anyone who says they'll vote Democratic to send the Republicans a message, that's just silliness.

I live in CA so it doesn't matter who I vote for. All of my states electoral votes will go to the democrat. Utah is the same way for the opposite reason. There are only a handful of states that matter. So there's no downside to writing in Romney if you live in an irrelevant state--and sending a massage.

On your poll, my inclination is to write in Romney for obvious reasons but I suspect we will get guidance and Mitt will likely influence my vote. - P

I would LOVE to see a McCain/Huckabee ticket. Obama can take them both out in one swoop, damaging them both irreparably forever (Kerry/Edwards anyone?). Then when Mitt runs in 2012 against Huckabee, people will remember how Huck's a loser because he lost the general election in 2008. But I don't think McCain is dumb enough to put him on the ticket. Maybe he can put that female lobbyist whom he is so fond of on the ticket.

I have never been more discouraged for an election before. There is not one candidate that I feel good about that is still in the race. I can't in good conscience vote for Obama or Clinton, and the only way that I could stomach voting for McCain is if he has the sense to put a strong conservative on the ticket with him. Huckabee may be socially conservative, but he is naive, and I believe he is small-minded and petty as well. A McCain/Huckabee ticket would be the worst Republican ticket of all time.

I couldn't vote for Huckabee for anything that gave him a position of power. He has the smell of sulfur about him.

The only reason that I can think of for McCain to choose Huckabee for VP is votes only. But, I don't think this will happen, because McCain does not want a religous-zealot hanging around him.

He will select someone who is second-best. Someone who will not over-power him, as in: 1) intelligence 2) good looks, and 3) a great sense of humor. He wants it all.

Unlike Mitt, Mitt would surround himself with the best of the best. If this segment of voting (Huckabee as VP) is indicative of Republicans, then the Democrats will win by a HUGE landslide.
