   It’s scary that Obama could be our next president. I missed Mitt Romney since the day he quits the race. I thought I am going get over it but I still feel the pain since his withdrawal for sake of Iraq. I can imagine that Obama can be impeach sometime in next four years or will not win 2nd term.

   Crist is the one that end Romney’s race.

   You know this is pretty good but doesn’t look like it will serve any purpose. If McCain somehow implodes, Mitt would be in a position to contend with Huckabee but at this time it is moot.

   So many variables now. We could juggle lots of them around and create a what if, but that is not likely. I’ll be 100% if it does happen, but it sure looks like 2012 at the earliest. But then, all of the what if’s would be Mitt’s choice if any of them ever happened.

   Gee it’s so much fun just sitting around not being able to do anything (for now). - P

   I agree that it was Crist that destroyed Romney. When I read that he had endorsed McCain, I knew in my heart that it was over. I would also have thought that Huck’s campaign was a real success story if I didn’t also know he obtained his success through Mormon bashing, among of all people, fellow evangelicals. It’s like if Romney ran for President of Utah. He wouldn’t have to spend much on advertising. Mormon friends of mine who have been following the race are absolutely shocked at how the Mormons have been villified — by people in their own party. It’s time for all Mormons to unite and let the Republicans know that their vote should not be taken for granted.

   Leslie, uniting might be too aggressive. It’s better, if there is time, to let them see the example Mitt has set and gently let them know we are another Christian religion just as they are, only a bit different. If we try to explain some of the differences, we will create walls that will not be breached within the span of our quest.

   The Savior’s example was peaceful and understanding. We need to do the same. Turn the other cheek? To some extent. We’re not trying to defeat them. We want all of us to join in a common quest. - P

   Hello all,

   I’m actually quite surprised that you “endorsed” McCain on this blog. I’ve been a regular reader on this site, and think McCain does not represent conservative. Maybe I was mistaken, and the contributors to this site are first Republican and only then conservative. This is just my personal opinion. Thank you for your hard work.

   I find myself wondering what Mitt Romney could have done better. I think you have to question whether or not his message registered with the average American voter. It seems like immigration was not the big issue with a lot of voters. Now the republican party wants to be more center on that issue.

   I wish Romney could come back with a fresh message, something to capture the hearts and minds of American people. But it seems the American people want a message about ideals not principle. Without a strong foundation in principles America is going to go down hill.

   I am really annoyed with America being in love with Obama. What do Americans see in him. CHANGE? What kind of change? End the war? What else is he promising? He is left of HILLARY. People should not vote for him. I hear so many people who say they are going to vote for Obama now that Romney is out of the race. That is a sharp left out of control turn. How does one go from being a conservative to being a flaming liberal? Any Thoughts?

   I for one feel concerned about Americas future and believe conservative values make a better America. I do not believe that Republicans make a better America but they carry a conservative banner and tend to promote conservative values most of the time. I certainly do not believe McCain will make a better America. However I understand the logic in the endorsement of McCain because he is far less liberal than Obama. The really sad thing is Romney represented someone who would have fought hard for conservative values and principles. So many Americans rejected his religion and ruined an opportunity to get someone in Washington who would have made a difference. I do not know if Romney will be back in 2012. Maybe America will move on to a new kind of conservatism- the republican party is. They are moving to the center on key issues. I am not a republican first. I am a conservative first.

   Many people do not know the Mormon religion and because of this lack of knowledge tends to be bias. It is unChristian, and Huckabee didn’t help, either. My religion, Catholic, do not preach hate, so I have no problem voting for Mitt. I think he is perfect. The perfect American that can embody what is conservative and ideal.

   With regards to his religion, I think it is a good idea to have a news report, segment or reality show about the Mormon religion, or have their mass televised for all people to see, just like the Catholics and other religions on Sundays. Maybe it’s time to let the public know what Mormonism is all about. That way, there will be more acceptance to it as being just another religion that loves Christ. By 2012, Mormonism will no longer be a big deal to some voters, and this will pave the way for Mitt’s surge to presidency. The more people know about Mormonism, many will be converted. BTW, reading about it does not carry too much weight. Being on live television will do, and this will capture millions of audiences. The more people know, the better. In preparation for Mitt’s return, please tell the world. Regardless, my vote will always be for Mitt!

    Lydia, There has been some PBS specials and such but like all religions we have had our growing pains. That leaves plenty of material for people who are “enemies” of the church to work with. I am a convert and attended a catholic high school and was born into a southern baptist family. Much of what I learned in my early years is still with me now as a latter day saint. I think all true followers of Jesus Christ can find common ground among our various beliefs. People like you, some of whom are evangelicals could see that Mitt Romney loved America and would fight for conservatism. But there were a large portion of the voters who could not accept his religion and would not even consider him. Some of the evangelical churches seem more caught up in preaching what is wrong with everyone elses church versus what is right about theirs. For this reason I don’t know if Mormons will ever be accepted in the mainstream religion arena however Ann Coulter said something interesting… I’ll paraphrase- she said “so what if their religion is a little bit whackey.” Being a fan of hers, at first I felt a bit offended but then I thought, “Well, at least she doesn’t think we are a cult.” So maybe slowly but surely we make progress.

    Thanks for supporting Mitt Romney. He was a great candidate and he would have done a lot of good for America.

    Ann is right. Mormons are wacky, but every religion is wacky from the outside!!! That’s why there is something called “Separation of church and state” Unfortunately, Huck didn’t learn about this concept in divinity school.

    Not sure I would go so far as to say that this site is endorsing McCain. Though some of the bloggers are certainly leaning that way, I get no strong vibe that they are FOR McCain, just against the alternatives.

    I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I’m tired of being AGAINST the other guy (Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Democrats, Liberalism). I was and am FOR Governor Romney, and that was refreshing.

    So even as some here begin to coddle and sway, I’m still leaning FOR a write in…

    Oh, and about the wacky Mormon thing, most of the ones I know lead happy, family centered lives. What’s wacky about that? Whack me! Let’s be careful to separate the ideology from the person (Mormon does NOT equal wacky, so let’s stop perpetuating this fallacy). If more primary voters could have figured out how to do that, we wouldn’t be lamenting or country’s loss today. Let’s stand up for and with each other and eliminate these senseless and counterproductive verbal sleights from our vocabulary. United, on common ground, we will prevail, for when we stand together, FOR something, we are forMITTable!!!

    Oh and another thing… Why bring up the mormon thing. If it doesn’t matter don’t talk about it. If people bring it up, ask them why are they so pessimistic about it.
