Not that it would matter to me, but if McCain was trying to get conservatives to support him, he should pledge to conservative values and issues rather than trying to get conservatives to accept him as he is.

The fact that he acknowledges our dissatisfaction with his position on illegal aliens doesn't mean a thing. He hasn't agreed to anything, just noted that he doesn't agree with us. Other issues, same thing. No change. No vote. Congressional races yes. Write in Mitt. - P

Electibility is a myth. I am happy to say I voted for Mitt on Super Tuesday here in California. I am toying with the idea of writing in Mitt's name if it a landslide win for dems because what can that hurt. If it is close I will vote for the Republican candidate. The worst that can happen? Four more years of the way Bush ran the white house and Big Government. It could be way more serious then that. I repeat what I have already said on other posts. Anything can happen in 9 months, anything can happen in 9 months. That is the only thing keeping me sane.

Well, McCain has run back to his Washington buddies, and is forgetting us, the voters:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080213/ap_on_el_pr/mccain

I guess he hasn't gotten the message the most of us could care less about congress (and may actually work to replace most of them), as we view Washington as ineffectual, feckless (and broken, if you will).

I also don't like the "electability" argument. As I've posted elsewhere, we are simply watering down our values to appeal to more voters, but that is a fool's errand. If we step away from the foundational principles that make our country great, our cause is drowned in the cacophony, with no clear voice. Then we become the "Other Party of the Polyglot".

Yuck!

I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. I am not willing to participate in the mass suicide stampede to November that the rest of the Republican Party has joined. Romney is the only candidate that could have won in November, and I will continue to support him in the hope that someone (McCain) will eventually realize that his campaign is doomed and that he will fall flatter than Dole in 96.

I am a delegate for Romney at the Clark County Republican Convention in Nevada. I have no intention of shifing my support to another candidate that cannot possible win.

I too voted for Mitt on Super Tuesday. Still feel like he is the best candidate! Would even work for him if he decided to run as an independent or libertarian. But honestly thinking that 2012 is not that far off and we can all start working now towards that goad!

I cringe at the thoughts of McCain in the White House. And if the news is any kind of accurate at all, there are a lot of "Obamacans" jumping party lines.

Makes you want to go Hmmmm...

RC,

That's the spirit and the commitment! I voted for Mitt in the primary and I will write in his name in the general. We need to send a message to the RNC that they will not win this election or any other without the active participation of the "Republican wing" of the Republican party.

I logged onto this sight this morning and got a shock of my life............A John McCain ad at the top of the landing page. What's up with this? I am sorry, I will never vote for or back McCain in any public position. He is the devil in sheeps clothing. Let me see if I get this right:

It's like you, trying to get the Mormons (who just lost their spiritual leader at the age of 97) to vote for, to rally around and to back Mike Huckabee as their new Church President, all for the sake of the Church. How lame. How insane. How pathetic!

It's like you, wanting Brittany Spears to become the President of the American Family Association. I think we should all back Brittany in her quest to become their next President for the sake of the AFA. WAKE UP PEOPLE..............

I voted on Super Tuesday for MITT ROMNEY. In November, I am going to vote for MITT ROMNEY, whether on the ballot or not. If his name is not on the ballot, then I will surely write his name in. I will not cast my pearls before swine.................

GO MITT
