Mike: DROP OUT!
Rasmussen Reports polling since Mitt Romney suspended his campaign shows John McCain leading Mike Huckabee 55% to 24% in the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination. McCain also leads Huckabee 724 to 196 in delegates and there is no viable path to the nomination for Huckabee. As a result, Rasmussen Reports will no longer conduct daily tracking polls of the race for the Republican Presidential nomination.
Yesterday, Rasmussen Reports received hundreds of phone calls and countless e-mails from Huckabee supporters indicating their disappointment with our decision. Many implied that we were being disrespectful to Huckabee and his supporters. That is not the case. We recognize that Governor Huckabee has run and is running a campaign that resonates with a large and important segment of the Republican constituency. He has greatly exceeded expectations because of his ability to reach out to this portion of the conservative coalition.
However, in our coverage of Election 2008, our focus moving forward will be primarily on the coming general election competition between Senator McCain and either Senator Obama or Senator Clinton. We will also begin expanding coverage of Senate Races and issues for the fall. As we look to the future, we are certain the Governor Huckabee will play a role in the unfolding saga of Election 2008 and the years beyond that. We will provide coverage of him in that role whenever appropriate.
Here is the link.

interesting…I noticed that even with only 2 in the race, of those polled, 21% did not choose either of them. That’s almost as much as huck got. How much you wanna bet most of that 21% are mitt supporters. So Mitt got the same (with likely margin of error) as huck even though he is no longer in the race. Just one more reason he should just drop out now. I think the only real reason he hasn’t is because it would look far to suspicious if he dropped out right after mitt with no other events yet to justify his witdrawal. Everone knows he was mainly playing spoiler to mitt, but he needs to wait at least until his next loss before getting out, otherwise it is just too obvious and he looses all credibility in the future (whatever’s left of it anyway). He will only continue to be significant in evangelical circles, and it’s probably better that this is the case. The world will not mourn his fading away into political oblivion with the likes of Pat Robertson. Or maybe he can become a new host of the 700 club…not a bad idea?

I agree heartily. Yes, Huckabee doesn’t want to look to suspicious but he already does in the eyes of many of us not in the southern evangelical circle that seems to be so strong in the south. I actually wouldn’t mind if Mctrainwreck (okay I will be nice McCain) pickes Huckabee as VP because then they will die in November and out conservative movement can be prepared for a fight. Trick number 1- vote Republican in the fall for Congress, try to get seats in the House with Real Conservatives (Make sure they are by their record and if they have no record you can always get rid of them in 2 years) Then try to get a majority of Real Conservatives in the Senate (the Senate Race is much more doable because if is a virtual tie with only 1 more democratic Senator then Republican…Get Rid of Senator Snow and Collins if they are up for reelection Main..and replace them with good conservatives) this is the only the conservative movement can have a voice. As I said above IF THE SENATOR OR REPRESENTATIVE IS NOT DOING THEIR JOB HOW ABOUT EITHER RECALLING THE ELECTION (worked well in California but then again we have a RINO). Just food for thought.

Let me finish a sentence in the above post. If the senator or Rep is not doing their job well have a recal election or don’t vote for them next time around. It is that simple. We need to get a conservative majority in the Seante which is doable (by don’t get fooled by compassionate conservatives or Big-governmernt conservatives)

frofreak,
Great idea. I hereby nominate Pastor Mike as a new host for the 700 club. He’d be perfect for the job.

Go Rasmussen. Now everyone has seen the writing on the wall, but Huckabee. Speaks volumes about the man’s judgment…

I think mitt is in a pretty good position right now. He may be asked to be VP. If that is the case, I am convinced Republicans may have a good shot at the White House after all. But if McCAin doesn’t pick Romney, and makes the mistake of caving into pressure and taking Huckabee, that is going to hurt McCAin’s chances. Then Romney can come back in 2012 to pick up the pieces.

Censorship is amazing, just like Mitt’s supporters; you hear and read what you want to… you just fire us up more when you delete our posts.

CNN just interviewed Mike Huckabee, since he won 60% of the votes in Kansas tonight. Huckabee said that he and his staff were surprised he got so many votes. It’s because Mitt Romney is not there to compete against him and McCain for votes!
Also, I heard someone from CNN say that Huckabee won’t drop out because he wants to show up at the convention with more delegates than “the rich guy”. I think all this true. Gov Romney has my vote and my spouses in the Texas primary. spouses

YOU GO HOUSTONIAN!! WE VOTED FOR ROMNEY THE MIDDLE OF JAN. [EARLY VOTING], BUT TO AVAIL. CHICAGO AREA. I FULLY INTEND TO WRITE-IN MY VOTE IN NOV. I HEARD ON THE BELTWAY BOYS THAT ONE OF MITT’S STAFF WAS ASKED IF HE WOULD CONSIDER THE VP SLOT, HIS ANSWER WAS..”NEVER SAY NEVER”……. I HAVE MIXED EMOTIONS ABOUT THAT, BUT WE SURE COULD USE HIM! JUST DO NOT WANT HIM TO MESS UP FOR 2012!

The newest Rasmussen poll (mon, 2 /11)
“In the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination, John McCain currently earns 46% of the vote, Mike Huckabee attracts 34%, and Ron Paul is supported by 8%. Conservative voters are evenly split between McCain and Huckabee. ”

Huckabee’s support is climbing

Isn’t it funny how Huckabee has been used by first, Guiliani when Mitt was leading Iowa, Rudy said “come on Mike, I want say anything bad about you, I even hope that you win Iowa or come in a close second, after Mitt spent all of that money, just help me knock him off”.
Then when McCain needed Huckabee in Florida, John said “come on Mike, help me jump on Mitt and help me knock him down and I might make you VP”.
Then again in West Virginia, McCain and Huckabee double-teamed Mitt and knocked him down again.
Now Huckabee don’t want to play with McCain anymore, he’s trying to beat him out of the nomination.

HI EVERYONE, I WAS WONDERING IF YOU ALL COULD LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN READ MY MESSAGE OR IF I MAY HAVE MESSED UP. I HAVE BEEN WRITING AND WRITING BUT NO ONE RESPONDS, IF THEY ARE RESPONDING I DON’T KNOW CAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF LINDA’S. I STILL HAVE NOT DECIDED WHETHER TO VOTE FOR ROMNEY OR MC CAIN. ONCE I GET THERE IT MAY BE PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO VOTE FOR MC CAIN, AND EVERY FIBER IN MY BODY MAY CAUSE ME TO VOTE FOR ROMNEY. IF I GIVE MY VOTE TO MCCAIN I MIGHT BE DOING IT FOR ROMNEY, IF I GIVE MY VOTE TO ROMNEY I WOULD BE DOING IT FOR MYSELF, AND THE WORLD AND ROMNEY AS FAR AS I KNOW. BELIEVE ME I WANT TO VOTE ACCORDING TO MY CONSCIENCE, BUT WANTING TO DO IT RIGHT IS STILL A MYSTERY FOR ME AT THIS POINT IN TIME. I HAVE READ TONS OF YOUR MESSAGES, AND THEY ARE SO WONDERFUL. I WROTE DOWN THE NAMES OF THE ONES I THOUGHT WERE EXTREMELY GOOD BUT I HAVE A VERY LONG LIST AND NOT ENOUGH TIME TO ACKNOWLEDGE ALL OF THEM PLEASE ALL OF YOU LET ME KNOW IF I AM ON YOUR SCREEN. THANK YOU LINDA A

Linda A:
Your messages are coming through loud and clear. Please don’t ever vote for McCain.
Mitt did the best thing he could do in withdrawing from the contest.
Rush has always been my favorite talk show host, but I have gained a lot of respect for Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Joe Scarborough, Laura Ingraham, Glenn Beck and it seems like every one of the talk show host’s that are considered conservative, their realizing that “A Great Man” slipped away out of the reach of These Pompous Conservatives that did not vote for Mitt, which left us with no other choice.
God I feel cheated!!!

THANK YOU BRUCE FOR LETTING ME KNOW I WASN’T JUST TALKING TO MYSELF LOL
I FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT SEAN HANNITY, ANN COULTER, LAURA INGRAHAM AND ISN’T GLENN BECK A LDS MAN? I SORT OF LIKE MICHAEL SAVAGE BUT HE CAN BE VERY HARSH AND QUITE RUDE TO PEOPLE. HE SEEMED TO PREFER MITT, AND HE LOVED HIS CPAC SPEECH, JUST LIKE WE ALL DID. MITT REALLY KNOWS HOW TO MAKE PEOPLE CRY. SNIFF SNIFF !!!! SEAN HANNITY SEEMS AT LEAST TO ME TO BE SWITCHING OVER TO MCCAIN. THAT HAS BEEN IRRITATING ME SINCE MITTS SPEECH. HE IS SAYING THAT MCCAIN IS MAKING A LOT OF EFFORT TO CONVINCE PEOPLE THAT HE IS WILLING AND ABLE TO COME MORE TO THE RIGHT, SO WE HAVE TO GIVE HIM SOME CREDIT FOR THAT. I JUST FLAT OUT CANNOT BUY THAT. I THINK MC CAIN WILL DO AND SAY WHATEVER IT TAKES TO BECOME THE PRESIDENT. OUR ONLY HOPE IS THAT MITT CAN AND IS WILLING TO GET BACK IN. I KNOW IT WOULD TAKE A MIRACLE, BUT I HAVE THAT IN COMMON WITH THE HUCKSTER, I BELIEVE IN THEM TOO. ONE OF MY FAVORITES IS LAURA INGRAHAM, AND I ALSO LIKE RUSH LIMBAUGH, SOMETIMES HE JOKINGLY CALLS HIMSELF RUSH LIMBOY NOW BECAUSE THE “DRIVE BY MEDIA” TOLD HIM AND SOME OF THE OTHER ONES TO JUST CALM DOWN AND GROW UP. PRETTY FUNNY STUFF!!!
I KNOW HOW YOU ARE FEELING BRUCE. I FEEL THAT WAY TOO. WHEN WE FEEL HOPELESS WE JUST NEED TO ASK GOD TO INTERVENE IN OUR BEHALF AND HAVE TRUST IN HIM THAT HIS WILL WILL BE DONE. TWO WILLS, IS THAT IMPROPER GRAMMAR?

Hi everyone, I am thinking that Huck and McCain are as thick as thieves in all that is going on. Huck and Mc Cain have decided that to keep someone else out of the race Huck would seem to be stealing votes from McCain, when in reality, Huck will be dropping out and McCain will get Huckabees delegates. They will then be president and Vice President. I have a question: Is it possible that someone else could come in and try to get elected, other than Mitt? How important are those delegates if the late bloomer comes in and is very popular and gets elected? Is that possible? Talk to ya all later, Linda A
