Thanks for posting this David! It was rather frustrating trying to find coverage at the time. Fox News just kept having “experts” blather on and on about Mitt dropping out during Laura’s introduction, while CSPAN seemed to be on a mission to confuse me. I kept checking CSPAN 3 because it said “Today in Washington” which was closer than what CSPAN 1 and 2 were saying, which was Senate Hearings or something of the like. Turns out CSPAN 2 was the one showing CPAC. I did catch most of Laura’s intro in spite of this though, and of course Mitt’s speech. At first it sounded like a rehash of last year’s CPAC speech (which was his second best speech IMO) but he really kicked it into gear once he got going. Of course, I still prefer last year’s because it had nothing about Mitt dropping out, but in the long run this will probably be remembered as a pivotal speech. His Faith in America speech was just off the charts amazing.

If McCain had even an ounce of intelligence, which is in doubt, he would be begging Mitt to be his VP. Maybe he already has, I don’t know, but I think people would swallow McCain if they knew that Mitt was on board.

I thought it was interesting when Mitt took note that Laura and other GOP gals are the gorgeous and brilliant ones.
And when he said size DOES matter…. Oh my, kind of a racy double entendre for such a squeaky clean guy.
It was a fabulous speech.
Great line:
“It is the common task of each generation – and the burden of liberty – to preserve this country, expand its freedoms and renew its spirit so that its noble past is prologue to its glorious future. “~~Mitt Romney, February 7, 2008
