John, maybe there was a glitch and my post didn't make it, but I made a post to KV and Sarah last night (which has apparently been deleted) debunking the false info that Ron Paul is an isolationist. And underscored that he's a true constitutionist and has voted in complete harmony with the constitution for 20 years as a Congressman. This is an unbelievable record in this day and age, and is completely verifiable. If anything, at this site we should be heaping praise on that man, instead of spreading (probably ignorantly done by Sarah) false info. Thank you.

I have though about that as well. I will pray for you KV, I hope you push the fight and get that isolationist out and on his way to a nice retirement in your district. Get some grass root campaign together. Since Ron Paul is still in the Presidential race, another Republican might have taken the time to organize a run against him. Look for announcements in your local paper or ask people that you know if they have heard of anyone running against him. I can't help you with the effort but I wish you luck.

DID YOU HEAR? At the close of CPAC today they took a straw poll as to who should be the Republican nominee. Winner? MITT ROMNEY! followed by McCain, Huckabee and Paul.

Even after suspending his campaign right in front of their eyes, they STILL voted for Mitt! We should, too, at every opportunity. Go Mitt 2008/2012!!

I say vote Mitt in the primaries. McCain can gear up for a campaign with the dems. Then Mitt will go the the convention with a strong message (lots of delegates) that conservatism matters to many Americans. We can worry about who we will vote for in November in November. But for now lets keep this grassroots effort growing. What can we do? I have all ready voted. How can we get the message out to the potential in the other upcoming primary states?

Joe,

Although it's a long, long shot, the remote possibility of either a McCain meltdown or the release of a block-buster story causes me to beat the drums for the "write-in" strategy.

Logic seems to say that the release of any scandal stories won't happen until late in the general election campaign. The MSM have done their level best to prop McCain up, so as to knock Romney down. It is in their best interest to sit on the story until the last moment, then spring it when the McCain campaign doesn't have time to refute it, or more accurately, to spin it.

If true conservatives hold on to their convictions and vote accordingly, we at least have a chance to influence, if not this year's final outcome, then in 2012. On the other hand, if we have already cast our votes for someone other than Romney, we have thrown away any influence that we might have.

So, it is at least theoretically possible that McCain and Huckabee battle each other all the way to the convention, each drawing blood, siphoning off delegates and burning through cash that they do not have. Keep in mind that McCain has pledged his donor lists as collateral to the bank that loaned him the money to continue his campaign and that he had to take out an insurance policy pledged to the bank as well. If some scandal makes it's way into the headlines, then the party might turn to Romney as it's last best hope to stave off a Hillary/Obama presidency.

In closing, I think that the write-in strategy makes sense at several levels, keeps some long shot options open and prevents full spectrum conservatives from doing anything that might back fire on the Republican party and set in motion 4-8 years of liberal Democrat rule.

If any of the stories McCain fears come out (his treachery during the Vietnam War, the lobbyist problem, his serial adulterous life, his vicious temper, etc.) in the MSM to the point of devastating his chances, is it possible for Mitt to step back into place as the front-runner and resume his battle with the Huckster?

I am hearing it everywhere ....people still want to vote for Mitt. My state has already voted. But go for it! Show that we are committed to Mitt. WE need to get the word out keep voting for Mitt! Here in Arizona we had to do without Romney's national help (because this McCain's home state) We came so close! Do not underestimate the power of grassroots work. Make a sign and stand on a busy corner that says still vote for Mitt! Call the newspaper and gather a group of people that will still vote for Mitt. Get the word out. We can choose not to let this die out without a fight!

I could never vote for someone like Obama or Hillary, even though I was so mad at John McCain's dirty tricks on Mitt that I had seriously thought about just doing that. And then the more I thought about it, I knew I couldn't do it. It would be like getting a real bad tatoo on your body which you probably wouldn't be able to remove without experiencing some real pain. I couldn't vote for McCain or Huckabee either because after all, I do have to look at myself in the mirror. I will be voting for my representatives this November and writing in Mitt's name. BTW, pray for me because my local congressman is no other than Dr. Ron Paul. I really need to find out who's running against him this year.

I agree. If you want to protest a McCain nomination, write in Romney. Don't help the Dems.

Personally, I just can't vote for someone whom a) I don't trust and b) doesn't share my core values. So, I won't have a candidate in November. It's write-in Mitt or stay home, and I won't stay home.

There is a long time between now and the convention and the party might still regret pushing this guy on us. We will see.
At the CPAC one thing became clear, the republican party gained its nominee, McCain but the Conservative movement finally gained the leader it has been looking for since Reagan rode into the California sunset.

I have sent the following to all my contacts in Idaho, Washington and Oregon.
We can do it folks!
==============

To Mitt Romney supporter.

There is still a push to vote for Mitt Romney, even thought he has "suspended campaigning".

The media is now turning on McCain and as this happens folks will turn in droves to vote Romney. There can be some problems however. In time the primaries will start to remove his name and some electronic forms of balloting doesn't provide write-ins. Thus you may have to go absent ballots!

So! get an absentee ballot and vote Romney! If to late, go on down and vote or write-in in some manner.

We need to sent this email out virally to every one we may know in states with primaries coming up in the next week or two.

Go Mitt Romney!
