Ann Coulter Doesn’t Mince Words Does She?
Not saying I agree with everything she said, but wow!
From The Huffington Post
Emphasis below is mine, just for the sake of pointing out the most shocking stuff..
Ann Coulter wasn’t officially invited to speak at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference — many on the right were still upset at the bad publicity she brought last year after calling John Edwards a “faggot.” But to no one’s surprise, she showed up anyway, commandeering the spotlight.
Speaking before the Young America’s Foundation, who invited her over CPAC’s objections, the conservative author spent most of her time viciously attacking her party’s new presumptive presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain.
No topic was out of bounds, including the five years McCain spent as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
“I know that [he was a POW],” Coulter declared, “because he mentions it more often than Kerry mentions he was in Vietnam. There were hundreds of POWs and we are not going to make all of them president. Can’t we find a POW who doesn’t want to shut down Guantanamo.”
That was mild. Take Coulter’s rationale for supporting Sen. Hillary Clinton’s candidacy over McCain’s:“A serious case could be made to support Hillary Clinton,” she declared, offering the analogy of Winston Churchill backing Stalin in the fight against Hitler in WWII. “I’m not equating Hillary Clinton to Stalin, and if I did I apologize to Stalin’s decedents… I’m not comparing McCain to Hitler. Hitler had a coherent tax policy.” Later, she added, “The only way I can promise that I won’t vote for Hillary Clinton is if John McCain appoints her as his vice president.”
Remarkably, Coulter’s comments reflected what conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh predicted would be the reception McCain would receive from the antagonistic mainstream media.
“Once [McCain]’s got this sewn up you’re going to see the Drive-By Media start doing stories on his age, and they’re not going to be mean, they are not going to be vicious, they’re going to be almost sorrowful,” said Limbaugh. “I am telling you, if that doesn’t work, they’re going to go after this age business, and they’ll do it almost regretfully.”
And indeed, Coulter speech contained repeated subtle and not so subtle digs at McCain’s age.
“He has been in the Senate for about 100 years,” she said (he’s actually 71), long enough “to vote on the Spanish-American War.” She even declared, playing off the mutual admiration between McCain and the media, that “[he] is working for the New York Times obituary.”
Coulter ripped him over policy issues as well, taking on his signature legislation McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform, as well as his vote against President Bush’s tax cuts, and his stance on climate change. In the process, she contrasted the Arizona Republican with the GOP candidates that he bested for the presidential nomination.
“McCain and [Mitt] Romney are mirror opposites of one another,” said Coulter. “Romney is a conservative who had to win votes from liberals in Massachusetts. McCain is a liberal who had to win votes from conservatives in Arizona.”
As for former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani: He “enthusiastically supported torturing terrorists,” she said to great applause. “McCain hysterically opposes dripping water down the terrorist’s noses.”
And what if the unthinkable happens, and President McCain is inaugurated? I’ve led an impeachment movement before, Coulter said, and “I can lead another one.”

Ann Coulter CANNOT protect my children if Democrats gain power.
Mitt Romney said he will SUPPORT the nominee and dropped out of the race SPECIFICALLY because he did not want a non-unified Republican Party going down to defeat to the Democrats, endangering our future. Yet all I hear from Romney supporters is that they will “sit this one out.”
If history is a lesson, sometimes you DON’T get a second chance - either at the Presidency or to win back Congress - to finish your work.
Now is NOT the time for Democrats to take control of all three branches of government to STOP the war that is being waged against the world by Islamofascist jihadists.
Like Mitt said, this election is WAY too important for sore grievances that the media would LOVE for us to have, so that they can take complete control of everything through their ‘fairness doctrine. ideology of liberal complete domination of all media outlets - including this one.
This is not an election to leave up to chance. You are either going to STOP a Clinton/Obama ticket, or not. If you choose nothing, that is still a choice. My children MUST NOT suffer because I didn’t try to help, even though I lost.
No, I didn’t get much of what I wanted. But, I still got life, liberty and the pursuit of conservative principle of smaller government, lower taxes, strong defense, no more earmarks, Iraq winnable, and more than I will be able to put down here right now. I didn’t lose everything, just some things.
Six Supreme Court justices are very old. And the next President may seal the Court for a generation to come, trapping our children in it’s judicial tyranny.
The choice is yours.
I will not go down to defeat AT MY OWN HANDS. Political coalitions are there to overcome a GREATER threat that we all face by the Democrats winning: total power over all of our lives.
In this time of war, we MUST stick together, or we may all HANG seperately.
Go McCain/Romney Go!

Ok folks, we need to get some strategy going here. I have an idea, hear me out and then support or shoot full of holes.
I propose that we (Mitt supporters) vote for Huckabee in all of the elections until he is even with McCain in delegates then start switching back an forth working one side higher, then the other. By the time we get all the way through the primaries, they will both be about even at about 150 delegates short of what they need.
Then at the convention, enters Mitt with his 300 delegates (I suspect he’ll still win Idaho before we get this off the ground). This will place him in a position of strength to via for the VP spot. I suspect that McCain (who’s constituency in Arizona is about 20-25% Mormon, and MUCH less biased then Huckabee) will offer Mitt VP to get those 300 delegates.
The next few primaries might have a chance to get a few more delegates for Mitt, but once the polls are not showing Mitt, we’ll need to go with this strategy I am proposing. We watch polls (McCain/Huckabee) just before a election and vote accordingly. Early on, will be easy, in order to catch Huckabee up with McCain, we all vote Huckabee. We need to email everyone we know in the primary state and explain what we are doing.
Once Huckabee is caught up, we’ll need to be careful and be well organized at that time to pull this through.
I want to show the liberal Media, that they screwed with the wrong people, American citizens. That WE are the ones that are empowered here, NOT them.
At the convention, Mitt will get to make the last move. He can either go with us on this or he can simply give delegates to whom he may. There will be other factors for Mitt to consider. It’s is possible that he will not want to be associated with any administration that in turn could taint his name for a bid 4 years later. Perhaps he, as their VP can help get the presidential candidate elected over the democrat nominee. There many be many other factors way beyond our comprehension. But the choice will be Mitt’s to evaluate and make.
We’ll need a central point to gather/focus around, say this website. Round up volunteers to start emailing folks in all up coming primaries.
Folks, could this work? Is an effort like this even legal? Lawyers advise? Will Mitt have sufficient power with his 300 delegates to make this matter? Add your thoughts? Shoot it down?
Until we get organized, everyone Vote Mitt!

Is anybody here? Come back. I can no longer tolerate Fox News. I tend to hold grudges and I don’t plan on letting go of this one. So, this is where I come to get most of my news of late and I need all of you to keep me informed.
I still plan on writing in Romney’s name. Things could change between now and November but my latest rational for not voting for McCain is he promised more wars. I think that would really put our troops in harms way and spread them to thin. I would like to see war as the last resort. McCain is a crazy hot head. Also, I thought by writing in Romney’s name I would be sending and clear message to the GOP that they had better pick strong conservative leaders if they ever hope to gain the White House. I really offends me when they act like we need to support the GOP despite the fact they are moving the party to the left. I have no desire to support Charlie Crist, Huntsman, Swartzneggar, or Lindsey Graham. They need to wake up to the fact we need to get back to a principled foundation. Mitt Romney has attracted Democrats, Catholics, Blacks, Evangelicals, and Jews and I know had he been able to get his message going he would have won over the hearts of many Americans. This is the kind of leader the GOP needs to gather around and support. We must reject the good ole boy club in Washington. They must think we are STUPID. I am so disgusted with these liberal republicans. I owe them nothing. I will stand on principle and cast my vote for Romney.

Everyone is taking Ann’s comments to seriously. She would NEVER VOTE FOR HILLARY and she knows it.
She makes a lot of bucks saying the most strident things. She is really more of a comedian than commentator. Everyone should remember that.

Denny I really don’t trust McCain. I don’t believe he will support conservative judges. I think the democrats need to take the White House. The republicans need to take back congress. Voters for the dems are turning out in record numbers and I just don’t think it is possible to win the White House this year. I agree with Ann- Let the democrats mess things up and then the voters will be ready for a republican in 2012. In the meantime, I think it would benefit the conservatives to send a message to the GOP that we will only support a conservative candidate.
February 8th, 2008 at 9:02 pm
Kris in AL- I don’t think Ann will vote for McCain.
February 8th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Romney/Coulter 2012!!!
You go Ann. I love ya! This party is very deluded if it thinks McCain is the best candidate. He is a traitor. Let the Republicans fall on their face in 2008 under the McCain/Huckabee banner, and Mitt will sweep back in 2012 to pick up the pieces.
By the way, McCain and Huckabee seem to be at a total loss for words now that they no longer have Mitt to pick on. He was their target for so long, but he pulled the rug out from under them. Now that Mitt’s gone, McCain will have to focus his fire on the democrats, which will be very hard, because he is one. How can he possibly rally against Teddy Kennedy? Or Lieberman? Or Clinton? These are his FRIENDS.
And when McCain/Huckabee get defeated in November, Huckabee will have to go back to his little trailor park and hit up his baptist congregation for cash for 2012.

Mit 10, you need to change your name to Mit 12 for the year Romney comes back and kicks some a*s.
February 8th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
Mit 10 and Linda, you both speak my language.
I think I love Ann Coulter!!
I hope the dems win the presidency and hold the congress in 2008. I’ll bet after four disasterous years of that group, even Fox News will back Mitt Romney in 2012.

Ann Coulter is fantastic. Sure she is caustic. What’s wrong, can’t take it?
She makes you think. And, appreciate her skill and intellect.
Ok! You don’t agree with her. Is is because she’s wrong, or because she has more guts than the rest of us.
I know, she tightropes. But, it makes you think. We all need to declare ourselves. She helps make us take a position. Thanks Ann! - P

I’m starting to agree somewhat with Laura Ingraham. Will it really be worth having a court full of liberal judges and a war lost to the Jihadists to be able to say “I told you so!” Plus, the media will NEVER blame a disatrous Democratic administration on the Dems. It will all be the fault of the former Republican admin. They will never come groveling. Laura said today she things we can vote for McCain and still voice our opinions strongly against all of his liberal leanings. Voting for the lesser candidate won’t mean we have to agree with him. But losing the war and living with liberal judges is too big a price to pay just to get even.
February 8th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
If Barack Obama wins the nomination it does not matter whether we conservatives support or not John McCain. We will be headed for a humiliating defeat in November. While Pbama’s vie are very liberal, McCain can not reall attack him from that. In the major issues can McCain really argue that he is that much different than Obama? He will be able to attack Obama on Iraq. But even though we all support McCain in the surge, it really is not a winning issue for us.
Romney could have conducted an issue/ideology campaign agains Obama. Since McCain can not, it will be a personality contest. In such a race McCain can not beat Obama.
-Independants are not going to vote for McCain after 8 years of republican goverment. They are ready for a change, and that is Obama.
-Democrats are running over eachother to get to the voting boot for Obama, they are not going to switch and vote McCain.
-Moderate and liberal republicans are not as ideological by definition as we are and will be likely to be attracted by a popular personality like Obama. So the same voters that McCain owes his nomintaion will likely desert him.
-That leaves us conservatives. We might be the only ones voting for the guy after all.
February 8th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
Ann, you’re my hero. That was hilarious and so right on!
February 8th, 2008 at 11:17 pm
I think it is interesting that Mitts argument for leaving the race -Obama and Hillary will bring the troops home-is the very argument McCain used to derail Mitts campaign in Florida- MR wants timetables, timetables, timetables, did I mention timetables- the buzz word for troop with drawl. Interesting……
If so much was not at stake, I think we could all get a good laugh out of this.
I may consider voting for McCain if he agrees to apologize for lying to the Florida voters about Mitt Romney’s intentions regarding timetables and troop with drawl. Of course it would have to be on national TV. As a voter I feel really cheated. Not only did he lie about Mitts position, he cheated everyone who voted for Mitt and now he wants our vote.
I think the polls will reflect that the dems have a better shot at the White House then John McCain. I still have until November but if I had to vote today I would write in Mitt Romney’s name.
One other thing I find a bit annoying is Barak’s response to Romney’s reason for pulling out of the race. “He ran an ineffective campaign” The media darling thinks Romney does not know how to run a campaign. If Mitt Romney had half the good press/half the media scrutiny that Obama has enjoyed, Mitt Romney would have been able to stay in the race and possibly win the nomination.
February 8th, 2008 at 11:22 pm
Ann Coulter has been my number one favorite conservatives commentate since early 90’s.
February 8th, 2008 at 11:27 pm
Linda, I thought exactly the same thing. I was hoping Huckabee would be talking the same day as Mitt at the CPAC. He would have had to completely rewrite his speech. I thought, “Wow, Mitt has just pulled the rug from under Huckabee’s feet! Who is he going to bash now? The guy he’s hoping to get a VP spot from?” And poor old Chuck Norris can no longer complain on Fox about Mitt having the audacity to use his own money to help finance his campaign!
The more I think about it, the more I realize that Romney made the best move. And what a way to do it. I am amazed at the great disdain the liberal media has for Romney. They could not even offer him any kind words as he bowed out. Listening to his speech at CPAC must have been like having someone drag their fingernails down a chalkboard nonstop for half an hour. Editorials all over are bashing Romney with the hope that people write him off for any future political endeavor he may have. A local editorial stated his comments at CPAC “borders on slander” because he stated Obama and Hillary “would retreat, declare defeat” and he doesn’t want to forestall the launch of a national campaign, making it easier for the democrats to win. Isn’t it blatantly obvious how slanted all these media freaks are? I was amazed to read the editorial in the USA today saying virtually the same things.
One very key lesson I have gleaned from this election is how severely biased the MSM is for the liberals. I already knew that but, boy, I really didn’t know how bad it really was. I have seen it everywhere and it makes me sick. Even on NPR. I used to make it a habit to make time for the evening abc news. I kind of avoid it now and my wife has said she doesn’t want to watch abc news ever again. Just today we talked about subscribing to the National Review since it was about the only conservative voice out there that stepped up to the plate for Mitt (before it was too late). I will still browse news websites…but with their twisted bias always in mind.
Unless Romney endorses McCain, I will be writing in Mitt Romney as my vote!
February 9th, 2008 at 12:34 am
Don’t vote for Huckabee against McCain. Don’t vote for McCain if you don’t like him. Keep voting for Romney in the primaries, even if you have to write him in. That sends a message, gives Romney a gaggle of delegates to offer up at the convention, and limits our protest to the primaries. Come general election time, you will all need to seriously consider any actions we take that will hand the white house to a Democrat. Who will we be teaching a lesson to? Huh? Who pays the price? We do, our kids, and and grandkids. It takes a generation to turn a Supreme Court around. We need to keep McCain’s feet to the fire, to keep him honest, but don’t vote for Hillary!!
Vote FOR Mitt. Vote FOR change.
Go Mitt (supporters)!!
February 9th, 2008 at 12:46 am
Denny’s right. We vote Romney throughout the rest of the Primaries but then vote for the Republican nominee in November, against the Democrat.
February 9th, 2008 at 6:34 am
Well, I like Ann Coulter. Yes she is very brass at times, but she gets you thinking outsde of the box. As far as Romney supporting McCain, I can’t see that happening, but in this election, who knows. I just cannot see myself voting McCain.
February 9th, 2008 at 10:16 am
I think the best thing is continue to vote Mitt in all remaining primaries. This both sends a message to Mitt for 2012, but also does something very short term. The only way I would vote McCain would be if Mitt was the Veep. If we continue to vote Mitt, then this sends the message to McCain that his best bet of getting the conservative vote in the fall is if he reconciles/apologies to GMR and put him on his ticket.
February 9th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
VOTE FOR MITT IS A VOTE FOR MITT… forget what others say.. please! Tell America who you really want to lead!
Mitt Romney, only Mitt! GO MITT!
Don’t Vote Huckabee…
A Vote for Huckabee is a vote for Huckabee and we do not want another Jimmy Carter! He’s bad news… his 23% sales tax is the worst idea ever! I understand taxes and it is terrible! NO WAY NO THANKS to Huckster!
VOTE MITT VOTE MITT VOTE MITT how many times do I need to tell you this
GO MITT!
A thought… what if Mitt has transferred the campaign effort into our hands… as he had done everything possible to make it happen but he fell short… tell him he’s wrong in assuming that not enough Americans care about his passionate desire to lead.
GO MITT! VOTE MITT if you have not yet…
February 9th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
I see Huck won Kansas, big time, I believe the conservs are sending a message to McCain: YOU ARE IN TROUBLE!!! I can’t stand Hukabee, but I enjoyed that moment. Here in LA those who planned on voting for Mitt that I know of, still did. I even received an email from one who asked all to please vote Mitt. If nothing else, Mitt knows we are not ready to fall in line with “mike& Ike” -tough on the outside, but slimy going down& old as the hills!
