Ok folks, we need to get some strategy going here. I have an idea, hear me out and then support or shoot full of holes.
I propose that we (Mitt supporters) vote for Huckabee in all of the elections until he is even with McCain in delegates then start switching back an forth working one side higher, then the other. By the time we get all the way through the primaries, they will both be about even at about 150 delegates short of what they need.
Then at the convention, enters Mitt with his 300 delegates (I suspect he’ll still win Idaho before we get this off the ground). This will place him in a position of strength to via for the VP spot. I suspect that McCain (who’s constituency in Arizona is about 20-25% Mormon, and MUCH less biased then Huckabee) will offer Mitt VP to get those 300 delegates.
The next few primaries might have a chance to get a few more delegates for Mitt, but once the polls are not showing Mitt, we’ll need to go with this strategy I am proposing. We watch polls (McCain/Huckabee) just before a election and vote accordingly. Early on, will be easy, in order to catch Huckabee up with McCain, we all vote Huckabee. We need to email everyone we know in the primary state and explain what we are doing.
Once Huckabee is caught up, we’ll need to be careful and be well organized at that time to pull this through.
I want to show the liberal Media, that they screwed with the wrong people, American citizens. That WE are the ones that are empowered here, NOT them.
At the convention, Mitt will get to make the last move. He can either go with us on this or he can simply give delegates to whom he may. There will be other factors for Mitt to consider. It’s is possible that he will not want to be associated with any administration that in turn could taint his name for a bid 4 years later. Perhaps he, as their VP can help get the presidential candidate elected over the democrat nominee. There many be many other factors way beyond our comprehension. But the choice will be Mitt’s to evaluate and make.
We’ll need a central point to gather/focus around, say this website. Round up volunteers to start emailing folks in all up coming primaries.
Folks, could this work? Is an effort like this even legal? Lawyers advise? Will Mitt have sufficient power with his 300 delegates to make this matter? Add your thoughts? Shoot it down?
Until we get organized, everyone Vote Mitt!

  1. Linda Says:

You are assuming that Mitt would even want to be associated with either of these two scumbags. They’re both beneath contempt, and I’m sure Mitt feels the same way.

  2. Tim Triggs Says:

I say we keep a shadow campaign going. So Mitt can still get as much support and delegates as possible. There is still a chance that Mccain won,t get the necessary amount of delegates to insure the nomination, at which point it becomes a brokered convention and anything is possible.

  3. Phillip Says:

It’s a smart idea but it can’t work because the remainder of the races are caucus with the exception of Texas and Ohio I believe, but all of them award delegates proportionately. John King did this on CNN earlier today showing that even if Huckabee or Romney won every race left McCain still picks up delegates and while they inch closer to the 1019 needed, McCain’s advantage from Super Tuesday gets him there before they do so it’s too late.

  4. Chad Says:

I could be wrong but I do not see Mitt Romney accepting a VP nomination. He said it himself, “I hate to lose.” Running as a VP carries the notoriety of the “person in 2nd place.” Of course if the nominee sees that having Mitt as his running mate would be the best for the party, perhaps Mitt could be convinced into it. I believe in his integrity when he stated that he suspended campaigning for the good of the party and country. Go Mitt!

  5. Nina Says:

Mitt is a Leader and should run for President in 2012 not play second fiddle to those 2 clowns. I believe he has the insight to affect a top to bottom turnaround of this country and I want him to be in a position to realize his ideas and vision. McCain wanted this result and he has to live with how it turns out (or doesn’t). I wouldn’t vote for Huckabee or McCain for dogcatcher.

  6. Mit 10 Says:

There seems to be no real good solution. I say we all send a message to the GOP that we will not vote for a phony conservative, we want the real thing. The GOP does not deserve the support to the conservative base if they are going to refuse to stand on the principles that made the Reagan years so special. I think we should write in Mitts name and vote Mitt in all the upcoming primaries. I certainly understand however those of you who feel we need to at least try to win the White House. But I believe this will be a year for the democrats. McCain has cheated and lied and people are saying that Obama looks like the better man.

  7. deebeek Says:

Totally agree with Nina. Romney has more class in his pinkie than either McCain or Huckabee. I would be disappointed in Romney to even consider VP. He has made an incredible impact on this nation and the future of our country. He will win the presidency in 2012. He would never jeopardize his reputation as a true conservartive by accepting VP to a cheat, liar, and traitor, as McCain.

  8. bigmo Says:

I say just vote for Mitt. Voting for Huckabee will just make him be percieved as a strong candidate come 2012.

  9. Peter Combes Says:

I fully expect to hear President Obama announced in November. I expect to write-in Romney but work for congressional seats here. Lindsey Graham will be running for re-election in South Carolina. We’ll see if he can lie his way through this.

If we had a way to get a message out during the nomination period we would already have Mitt Romney in for the Republican party. He had some blogs, talk radio, and his personal contacts going for him. Against him he had the Republican party, the media, two unethical opponents, the Democrats and the crossovers. That’s a lot to overcome.

Even with all that, we would have a Romney nomination if it hadn’t been for the dirty tricks in Florida. Sure wish lying was against the law. Tell me again, why isn’t it? Isn’t there something like slander out there. Just a thought. Sure I harbor a grudge. Governor Romney is a much better person than I am. - P

  10. davie Says:

As my last comment, I just wanted to point out the ultimate irony to Mitt’s suspension- He stepped aside for the very thing McCain lied about. He stepped aside so that we don’t pull out of Iraq too soon. McCain said Romney wanted to set a timetable for withdrawl. Looks like Romney didn’t after all, and he ment it enough to give McCain the clear path ahead.

  11. Helen Says:

I agree with Peter. I don’t want Governor Romney to be McCain’s VP, and it would be an insult to him, as well as to all the conservatives. McCain will not be able to get the conservative votes, and we will teach him the lesson. If he betrayed the party, then he would have to take the consequence.

McCain had already disclosed to the media that he wouldn’t pick Huckabee as VP, because Huckabee has only represented a small part of country with few states in South, and he might pick a conservative governor in North West part of country to ensure that these states are still vote for the Republican Party.

McCain won these large states in North East and CA, but historically, these states had never voted for the Republican Party in general election. Governor Romney won most of North West /Rock Mountain States and these states have been traditionally voted for the Republican Party in general election. I am pretty much doubted that McCain will win these States this time around since he did such brutal thing to Governor Romney in FL.

Huckabee has been used by McCain as leverage only, but he has no value for McCain at all. Huckabee only looks smart from outside because he is a good talker, but is true stupid from inside. I still remember his picture of OBESITY someone had posted on internet. He is a very low end guy from the view of Washington establishment, and just likes B.Clinton who came to Washington in 1993. Plus, he has the same dirty baggers as McCain has.

I am 100% sure that McCain wouldn’t be able to win this general election, and the Republican Party in Washington knows that. When an incumbent sits the White House with 30% of approval rating, the general population will want to have a change. Plus, McCain still didn’t get conservatives behind him, because the conservatives want to teach him a lesson for betraying the Party on their principles.

I really don’t care who will be in the White House in next four years as long as McCain wouldn’t be there, and will be prepared for Governor Romney to run the President in 2012. By then, he will be much matured on how to deal with those political backstabs like Giuliani, Huckabee and McCain did to him this time. I am sure that there were some dirty deals made between Giuliani, Huckabee and McCain before and during the Iowa, NH, SC and FL’s primaries. If McCain gets nomination and doesn’t pick Huchabee as VP, there will be more dirt coming out. I just want Governor Romney to stay away from these political Junkers, and come out with fresh and much mature by 2012. He also needs to build up connections with those people at the State Level who can help him in the local on Election Day.

We also need to demand the Republican Party on changing the rules for the party’s primary election, and eliminates the rule of winner take all in some states. The Republican Party should make the same rule as Democrats, and standardize the proportional rule for delegate count in primary. Winner takes all is not a fair game in the primary anyway.

P.S. My husband heard Governor Romney’s speech yesterday and said to me: “If Romney makes a speech like this before the Iowa and NH, he might win all of them already.” It is very hard to predict with Giuliani, Huckabee and McCain all in the game, and these people are good at backstab people and making under table deals. It has been a shame for the Party, but that is the nature of politics.

  12. Jan Myers Says:

Thanks for the great idea. I don’t believe we can pull it off with this site, so maybe it would be better for people just to keep voting for Mitt as much as possible so he can continue to pile up delegates to wield some influence at the convention.

I understand we risk the appointment of a couple of judges, pull-out of the troops, and the beginnings of a nanny state with Obama, but I agree Mitt is above these creeps. The only value in him being a VP now is if McCain kicks the bucket so Mitt would become president. But I, too, believe there’s no way the Repubs are going to win this election so it would taint Mitt to be a part of it. I, too, would rather write in Mitt’s name to make the point.

I believe Mitt should take his 300+ delegates, go give another unbelievable speech at the convention, then stay visible working on conservative issues, write a best selling book on conservatism, and be ready to run for 2012.

  13. KV Says:

There are a few problems with this strategy. For one, I don’t think many of us Romney supporters, including myself can actually vote for Huckabee. There is no physical way I can do it. I heard Santorum say that Mitt has SUSPENDED his campaign, which means he can still keep his delegates and you never know what can happen between now and the convention. We need to go ahead and vote for Mitt anyways in the upcoming primaries, which I plan to do in March. As for VP, I don’t think Mitt wants that job, plus he is too talented and gifted to be VP. I also don’t think McCain can win the election this year, so why be on a losing ticket? BTW, there were rumors that Mitt was offered VP but turned it down already which surprised McCain’s people, though they weren’t too disappointed. As for Huckabee, I don’t think he’s going to be happy to know that he was not on McCain’s VP list. These are rumors of course, but just wanted to share it. Mitt will be back in 2012, even stronger than ever!

  14. LeEric Says:

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Seems most agree that Mitt wouldn’t want to be associated or tainted by a failed run for white house or botched up administration which he wouldn’t have full control over.
Voting for Huckabee just to make a point would be hard for most. So, lets press on and Vote Mitt through the rest of the primaries. There is always 2012!

  15. Sarah Says:

Correction if I may Helen, CA hasn’t voted for a Republican for a while but Reagan did win his state and I think both times if I might add.

  16. Sarah Says:

I think the VP spot would be detrimental. I though of it but of course I am having a hard time really having a prospect like that sink in. For those that haven’t voted yet, just vote Mitt and encourage others to do the same. Romney 2012!!! if not in 08.

  17. Sue B Says:

Please get the word out to as many sites as possible. Mitt has suspended his campaign, but he is still on the ballot, collecting delegates. Vote for Mitt and support him as though he were still actively campaigning. That is the strongest statement we can make about how much we believe in him and his message. You never know what might happen over the next few months. Keep our options open and VOTE FOR MITT!

  18. Rusty Says:

I would never vote for Huckabee–Never.

  19. Houstonian Says:

I’m glad I someone came up with this idea. It’s a good one, but I will vote for Mitt Romney in the Texas primary. I will not be like those Floridians, who at the eleventh hour voted for McCain after the “neutral” Florida governor decided to endorse John McCain. Texas Governor Perry has already endorsed McCain. I will not follow his lead because Governor Rick Perry is wrong. . Wouldn’t vote for anyone elseexcept Romney. I now know why I’ve been feeling so down since yesterday. It’s because Mitt Romney suspended his campaign. I would like to add that the last two nights, CBS Evening News has said that Mitt Romney has 176 or so delegates. I have emailed them twice to correct this and I told Katie Couric(if she even reads these emails) that I will not tune to her national broadcast if CBS Evening does not correct this. This media business is getting to me. Take care everyone. Go Mitt in 2012!!!

  20. Kim Says:

Please do not vote Huckabee or McCain!!! Even though Mitt has suspended his campaign, it doesn’t mean there’s no chance at all. So please keep voting for Mitt. Do not vote against what we believe in. That is a loss, a shame and a guilt which would taint our integrity forever.

  21. MLD Says:

Mitt knows things we do not. He knows whether he’s been offered the VP slot and what McCain’s reaction was. All we need to do is keep getting delagates for Mitt. The more we get him, the more leverage he’ll have at the convention to pursue the best course as he sees it. Plus, conservatives will have the added benefit of sending the clear signal that not only do we matter, but that our support is indespensible and that we’re not backing down.

  22. LeEric Says:

Do consider, that at some point in time, the primaries will no longer have Mitt listed on the ballots and if being in some electronic form or another, one will not be able to do a write in. At that point, if all Mitt folks went for Huckabee, that would keep McCain’s delegate count down. Would be a hard thing to do! But if choice was only McCain and Huckabee, skunk McCain!
By all means, as long as Mitt appears on ballot, Vote for Mitt!

  23. Jon Says:

NO! NO! NO! The strategy is for Romney supporters to KEEP VOTING FOR MITT. If Romney continues to win delegates even though he is not campaigning, that points to the strength of his message. The media can no longer bash Romney so they will now be setting their sights on McCain and Huckabee. The more the voters hear about these two, the more they’ll realize that Romney is our man. The media could even be their own undoing. Romney could do even better idle than if he was campaigning and pouring millions into tv ads. McCain will look like the weak Republican he truly is, and Huckabee will be the sideshow clown that he really is. If Romney continues to beat Huckabee in the delegate count, Huckabee is then totally irrelevant and cannot claim in the future to be the candidate of choice for 2012. He will look really weak in the eyes of the GOP and perhaps even to the hoodwinked evangelicals.

We must stay optimistic and keep supporting Mitt.

  24. Frozone Says:

Oh, please don’t waste another vote on Huckabee. Chose who you like best, and write them in if you have to, but vote FOR someone!!

    Vote FOR Mitt!!

  25. Frozone Says:

Yes, Jon has it right. The strategy is to vote FOR the message now. Let Mitt decide to do with all the delegates at the convention.

  26. bigmo Says:

If your primary is so far away that Mitt may not appear on the electronic screen, now would be the time to request an absentee ballot. In most cases you will be free to write in Mitt Romney.

  27. Frozone Says:

We all loved and supported our Gingrich guy at the caucuses. Don’t waste votes on Huckabee. That is an insidious ploy by a campaign insider ;) Don’t drink the Koolaid. Vote FOR someone, or vote FOR a message.

  28. Jon Says:

Will Mitt be removed from the electronic screens even though he has only suspended his campaign? If so, that’s a good point bigmo. There needs to be a push for absentee ballots and how do we help people in those states, that have yet to vote, make that push? I bet there are many Mitt supporters that don’t even care to get out and vote now that Romney is “out.” How do we get out the word that they still need to vote for Mitt? How common is it to win a state and not even be campaigning? Mitt could pull it off in at least one state (Idaho) if the Romney supporters get out on primary day and vote. That should send Huckabee back to Arkansas with his tail (yes, the rumors are true, he’s actually a weasel) between his legs.

  29. LeEric Says:

Jon! I see the light! The media is already turning on McCain. As they start to pound him into the ground, folks will want to seek another candidate. We have got to carry Mitt’s campaign such that they will seek to vote for him! I only hope his name (or write-in) will appear on enough primaries to make it count.
The pollsters are already starting to not poll Mitt. But we can weekly effect this polling site.
http://news.aol.com/political-machine/straw-poll If we poll for Mitt in the states that are having elections for that week, this could influence some!

Is anyone else on board with this? I haven’t listen to Talk Radio since Tuesday. Are they also going with this? How do we spread word that Mitt is still on the ballot! And to vote for him!

If Mitt were to continue winning for the next couple weeks, the media will surely make a story of it!?

Email everyone you know in coming primary state and tell them to vote for Mitt.
    What else can we do?

  30. LeEric Says:

I have sent the following to everyone I know in Idaho, Washington and Oregon. I do not know anyone in Kansas, Louisiana or DC. I will do likewise for other primaries shortly.
    =====================

    To Mitt Romney supporter.

There is still a push to vote for Mitt Romney, even thought he has “suspended campaigning”.

The media is now turning on McCain and as this happens folks will turn in droves to vote Romney. There can be some problems however. In time the primaries will start to remove his name and some electronic forms of balloting doesn’t provide write-ins. Thus you may have to go absent ballots!

So! get an absentee ballot and vote Romney! If to late, go on down and vote or write-in in some manner.

We need to sent this email out virally to every one we may know in states with primaries coming up in the next week or two.

    Go Mitt Romney!

    LeEric Marvin

  31. Linda Says:

Okay, LeEric, time to move on. Let’s talk about 2012 now, and how Mitt can strengthen his conservative credentials by then.

  32. lisarc Says:

Again — Please join us at http://www.ultimitt.org. We are organizing now for 2012. We need all the support we can get!

  33. jschner Says:

I have had a couple people tell me now what do I do? Who do I vote for? I tell them Romney only stopped campaigning, but is still in the race. And they are voting Romney tomorrow. Tell them sure McCain has things locked up so why not just vote for Romney and build up the conservative vote and send McCain a strong message that conservatives are stilla voice.

Also, a Romney vote works as a “none of the above” vote against McCain and Huckabee.
    -
I think if we campus out like the Ron Paul folks hitting forums, blogs, straw polls, news stories letting everyone know we are still voting Romney, standing for conservatism, it might catch on and build momentum. We could use the blog here and other pro-Mitt places to get gather info and direct folks to various places.
    -
What we really need is a forum as it would help organize us better. Anyone know of one? I could create a phpBB forum just for us in a matter of an hour or two on my personal sight if need be. Someone just say the word.

  34. jschner Says:

lol - the ultimitt folks posted the same time I did. Awesome! I say we all gather there not only for 2012 but to continue to fight todao for Romney and conservatism and give Romney and even bigger voice in this election and the future.

  35. Linda Says:

I don’t believe there is a truly good plan for us left. I hate to sound negative, because I don’t feel negative, I feel extremely confidant that no matter how we vote, or who we vote for, or when we vote, Mitt will somehow, in some way come out on top of the pack.
If we do not vote for the scumbag McCain we may be helping one of the democrats to win the election, and that would be terrible beyond words for the military, and if the military suffers the entire United States of America will suffer untold misery. The brave men and women that have died and suffered injury in the military will be terribly disappointed in us for not voting for McCain and then the outcome will be for these brave men and women will be to come home before they have finished their mission. We simply cannot do that!! I think Mc Cains mother is very bright in saying we may have to hold our noses and vote for Mc Cain anyway. We cannot decide what to do yet. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I believe that Mitt has more power from God in one of the cells of his body than Mc Cain has in his entire body. I know our Father in Heaven is on his side, and Mitt has all the power he needs to succeed in this election if that is God’s will or Mitt may need to wait till things get dreadful in 2012. We just need to pray for God’s will to be done, because he knows what is in our hearts and we just need to be prayerful and let what is supposed to happen, happen. I personally hope that Mitt will become the VP. Its not about Mitt, and that is why he MIGHT agree to become the VP so that he may exert some influence on Mc Cain if Mc Cain can possibly be influenced. If Mc Cain does “kick the bucket” then Mitt will become the President. Childlike humility and a powerful loving, trust in God, equals strength that baffles common man. (and the media) Keep watching Mitt, I think he is going to blow us all away, and what a fun trip that will be for us!!!

  36. jschner Says:

I’m saying keep conservatism strong for the remainder of the primary races. For the general election that is a different story and we most likely will have to really hold our noses and vote for McCain. But until the convention, I saw support Mitt and conservatism as much as we can in the primaries that are left.

  37. Jon Says:

Linda, I’m glad you’re not feeling negative about this but I do not agree that it’s time to “move on” and talk about 2012. We need to focus on the here and now and the stronger Romney looks now, the more power to him in 2012. I am convinced that if Romney supporters (in the states that yet have to vote) still get out and vote for him, we are making a statement for Mitt’s message for the 2008 Republican convention. It may be over for Romney this year but do we just give up? You say you are LDS. Now is that the track record for the LDS people? To just give up when bigots attacked them and all appeared to be lost? When they were driven from state to state? When their loved ones were killed? When the Prophet Joseph Smith was murdered in cold blood? When they had to flee beautiful Nauvoo for the desolate West?

I don’t think it’s time just yet to give up on Romney or his message this year. Mitt did not quit, and neither should we.

  38. Jan Myers Says:

I agree with continuing to get the vote out for Mitt in 2008! We want him to have as much clout as possible when he goes to the convention. I’m sure Huckabee’s only staying in to go ahead of Mitt in delegate count as he knows he can’t win. I think he’d pay any price to hurt Mitt. Today Huckabee speaks at C-PAC and if he had any of the guts and intellect that Mitt has, he, too, would drop out of the race. The fact that he doesn’t just continues to point out that Mitt’s the better man and more interested in saving the party. We’ve all known Huckabee just wanted a party for himself.

Don’t forget that in many states you can request a paper ballot if the electronic voting no longer has Mitt’s name on it. Remember, in 2008 a vote for Mitt is a vote for Mitt! Let’s empower him with as many delegates as we can when he goes to the convention!

  39. JoeInMA Says:

Huckles doing a decent job a CPAC this am….I think he will get some Romney votes with the speech. I don’t like Huckabee, but I would rather see him than McCain on the ballot in Nov. Maybe MR would release his delegates to Huckles and put him very close on the count?

However, I do believe that Romney supports should continue to cast their vote for Mitt on the remaining primaries.

  40. Jason Says:

If Mitt as VP would be allowed to have any real say or input into what government policy is, this would be a good idea. However, underneath either of these men, he likely won’t. He would only be used to get the necessary delegates they need and then be locked away in a closet. I think it much more likely that we don’t see Mitt as a VP candidate and running again in 2012.

  41. Flint Says:

Here’s what Mitt needs to do….

He needs to spend the next 7 months working to help CONSERVATIVES elected to Congress - the House & especially the Senate (think 41+ Senator’s to sustain a filibuster).

This will garner Romney further good will - it will help by “carrying water” for GOP candidates, and will help increase his profile in places where it might not be that high.

He SHOULDN’T accept VP, or GOP Chair. Either of those - he’s appointed (or picked in the VP case) by McCain, which essentially ties him to a McCain presidency, and at best, makes him a tool of McCain.

While he should not publicly distance himself from McCain during the rest of the campaign season - he definitely should not embrace him, or actively campaign for him.

By helping Conservatives get elected to Congress - he helps to provide a firewell in Congress against crazy liberal legislation that would be bad for the country.

If Hillary or Obama wins the presidency, those Conservatives in Congress can stop them from achieving their liberal agenda (think 1994 GOP Congress), if McCain wins the presidency, they can stop him from forging too many deals with his liberal buddies - and can “hold his feet to the fire” as it were.

If he keeps active in the conservative scene - helps Conservatives get elected in ‘08 and ‘10 - and keeps a good public profile - he stands a much better chance of being a leg up - and the man to beat in ‘12.

  42. Rich Says:

I will vote for Mitt on Tuesday in Maryland. We should encourage talk radio to promote the strategy of voting for Mitt all through the primaries to give “voice” to the conservative cause.

  43. Celestina Says:

I really believe that McCain/Romney ticket is the best alternative… it will give Mitt a FAST TRACK to Presidency when that occasion rises. We can say McCain is a National Security Expert… He understands war… We can also say Mitt is one of four best businessman in America that will deal with the economy part… During that time, Mitt will gain additional experience dealing with national security and foreign policy then he will be READY in 2010, who knows…. you know. It will save him a lot of campaign money because he will then gain a great household name. He will just need to shell out just some millions just enough to sway the majority to his side when he is ready to run for Presidency. That’s my thought. I’d hate to see him sacrifice even more from his personal pockets- what a true philanthropist indeed! Bless his heart! GO MITT VOTE FOR HIM NOW… make every vote count… it will make a difference I believe.

  44. Frozone Says:

    Good points all. To summarize:

    1. Vote FOR Mitt (don’t waste a vote for a lesser candidate)
    2. Garner more delegates for the convention (those of you that are already delegates, keep up the fight)
    3. Work and vote for the Message, to be delivered at the RNC in St Paul
    4. Governor Romney uses his war chest to send conservatives to congress (so it will be friendly)
    5. Work for the cause, continue to make Romney a household name, and prepare for a run in 2012

Remember, the convention is months away. Stranger things have happened, so if we can keep Romney and his message second in the polls, who knows what may happen. If nothing, at least we will demonstrate the full force of the grass roots behind Governor Romney. And lest you forget, Huckabee is now only nominally second. If he believes in miracles over math, this will be a big one. Popular (or unpopular) vote totals as of today:

    McCain: 4,834,584
    Romney: 4,111,430
    Huckabee: 2,404,859
    Paul: 568,044
    Giuliani: 542,177
    Other: 184,949

(Thanks to the flaminggrasshopper for pulling this together)

That’s a CLOSE second for Romney, and a distant third for Huckabee. Don’t be fooled by how this shakes out in the coming weeks, as this will surely change now that Romney has suspended. Keep a snapshot of the race today in mind.

Vote FOR MITT!! Vote FOR Conservative principles. Vote FOR the message.

  45. Helen Says:

I suspect that McCain is a “National Security Expert” since he was only a solder and didn’t have any rank in Navy during the time when he served in Military. McCain is Non-comparable to the five stars General Eisenhower who had commended the WW II that lead the entire Western Countries to the victory, and later elected as the first President from the Military General. McCain elected to be the Senator of AZ, not because of his military credential in Navy, but his second wife’s wealth and his second father-in-law’s business connection as well as their political influence in AZ. Without Cindy McCain’s family, McCain is still in the middle of no where. He fights so hard to get into the White House, because he feels that he owe too much to his wife in his last 30 years of political life. If Collin Power claims his Military credential as an advantage for Presidential election, I would buy that reason, but for McCain, I believe that he is too far from claiming that “Military Credential as National Security Expert.” I would admit that he was a war hero among hundreds thousands of war heroes who contributed their life to this country.

And I believe that McCain will not win conservative’s vote in general election, and he does not have the conservative’s DNA in his blood.

  46. Frozone Says:

A vote for Huckabee = a vote for McCain
    A vote for McCain = a vote for Hillary/Obama
A vote for Romney = None of the above

I love it. That’s how I feel. That’s the perfect message for the primaries. We’ll have to rethink that in the general election though…

  47. Celestina Says:

That’s true… like Frozone said… stranger things could happen!!!

Keep Mitt in Mind… vote for Him… McCain said Friday that he is willing to sit down with Mitt to unite the republicans… for the general election… why didn’t he say he would sit down with Huckabee… he did not… unless not publicly but that shows something… MSM is repeating this over and over… THAT OUGHT TO SIGNIFY SOMETHING BIG! Who knows…

A Vote is for Mitt is for Mitt… GO MITT… tell everybody… keep going as if Mitt is still actively in it… ;)

  48. CT Says:

I know folks in Idaho that are planning on voting for Mitt. They don’t vote until May. If the word was out to keep voting for Mitt I think we would be surprised at how many would rather vote for Mitt rather than anyone else on the ticket. If Huck is anywhere near the number 1 or 2 slot on the general GOP ticket I will vote DEM…….I think we need to get THAT word out……

  49. Mit 10 Says:

CT- I hope everyone that was going to vote for Mitt still votes for Mitt. That way we have a stronger voice at the convention. Can you get the word out. What can I do?

  50. Christine Says:

    Celestina,

McCain is NOT to be trusted. He is an unstable deranged man who will do anything and say anything to sin. Romney should not associate himself with a guy like that

  51. Linda Says:

Hi Jon, My message is # 35, and I sure don’t want to “move on.” You may have misunderstood or got me mixed up with another Linda. It happens all the time in these blogs, so many Linda’s. I will from now on call myself Linda A. I want Mitt Romney to win this election, but I hope the Lord’s will and my will are the same. His will is perfect, I have been wrong at times LOL!! I am still very hopeful. I did write to Mitt and to his family, and I am hoping to hear from him. That would really make me happy.
I hope you will answer this one please. Thanks, Linda A.

  52. Linda A Says:

CT, My mother and her husband live in Idaho and I will encourage them both to still vote for Mitt. If she decides to vote for Mc Cain she may be doing that because of Mitt saying in the CPAC that he supports Mc Cain on his military issues. I know my mom and her husband will never vote democrat though. I heard Brit Hume say today on Fox that he “knows” that the democrats, Hillary, and Obama would just love to run against Mitt, because he would be easy to defeat!!! Gee, is that minipulitive (sw) or what? I guess Brit thinks we are too stupid to see through that. He is trying to get people to stop voting for Mitt because he is trying to convince Mitt not to get back into the run for president. These people think they should sway the vote to turn out how they want it to.
Problem with me is I can see voting for Mc Cain in order to try to keep the Republican party in office. I sure don’t want a democrat to win, but I can also see voting for Mitt adding my support to him with all the others would send a clear message that Mitt wasn’t just another candidate that dropped out. Maybe one will turn out to be just as good as the other???? Maybe I am too tired to think well. LOL!!
