A shining example of selflessness and honor. . .

February 7th, 2008 Posted in Mitt Romney

What an unselfish man of highest class and dignity. I have to be honest and say that Mitt’s campaign suspension brought tears of sadness to my eyes as I watched as he spoke. My mom, sitting next to me, also was crying and devastated. But because of this man’s example and because of his convictions to stand up for what’s right for us as Americans and for our country as a whole, I feel there is hope.

There are good leaders out there, and I am honored to have fought for who is still, one of the very best. Thanks to Mitt and the entire Romney family for being shining examples of honor and integrity to all of us. Thanks to all the supporters who read this blog–who, on a daily basis, continue to uplift and inspire me to do what’s right. My young family and I are better, stronger, for the fight we’ve fought for this great cause.

How fortunate we all are to have participated in this phenomenal movement. How inspired I feel to keep fighting for true conservative principles and for the heart and soul of the Republican party. And how convicted I am to be the wife, mother, and American I know I personally can and must be–now more than ever before. On behalf of myself, my family, and on behalf of millions of supporters, thank you, Mitt Romney. We are better because of you; we are better because of what you stand for and in being united with you in this great cause.

Personally, I am convinced that Mitt Romney will someday be President of the United States. The manner in which that comes about is best understood by a power higher than ours. Thanks and heart felt appreciation to all who have contributed to this web site , especially to Ann. Your work will be rewarded! Your efforts have not been in vain.

I thought the speech he gave today was one of the best I’ve heard, well, ever. Although we are all very sad, we need to put our anger at the other candidates aside and fight for conservative principles. You’ll need to look at the candidates left and make a decision for yourself. Although many wouldn’t agree, I have to throw my support behind the one that best fits my values. I always liked the Fair Tax plan and Huckabee’s frankness about our national health crisis was appealing to me. I personally think, though I don’t care for the evangelical-far Christian right, the leaders of that movement never really supported him, so he doesn’t owe them any favors. Which is a good thing. I just can’t throw my support to McCain who is too quick to “reach across the aisle” at the detriment to our conservative values. I guess it’s Huckabee for me. Sniff.

We have all witnessed one of the great speeches and moments born in humility and dignity from a man who will ultimately go down in history as one of America’s great leaders and champions of America’s founding principles. Mitt is young, is not going anywhere, and his day, our day, and America’s day will yet come!

Thanks, Mitt for your inspring leadership and character!

Consider the truth in this thought!

Romney, even after dropping out, still has a better chance at being President than some of those still in the race now! … even McCain and Huckabee!

Well it is over. Yesterday I was criticizing a person who made a post right here on this site saying that exact same thing. I apologize to that man. He wrote what he had to and he was right. I send my sincerest thanks to the Romney family. I am deeply touched by there humility and integrity. Governor Romney’s announcement made me want to cry. I said that I would write in Romney’s name in November if he didn’t get the nomination and well he didn’t get the nomination. Yet I have come to realize that is humble concession speech made me think that writing in his name would be the last thing I wanted to do because I don’t wan’t to be labeled radical. I will support McCain but say that I was and forever will be a Romney fan. I hope that Romney’s political future is bright. What a gracious speech and McCain should acknowledge him for it. I will hold McCain to his promises if he is elected President. McCain can and must build bridges not to the left of him but to the right. Please don’t alienate us McCain. I have yet to see a moment to trust you except on the war and if it comes down to it I will be a one issue voter.

Thank you Governor Romney and family. I had a pleasure a few months ago to meet Craig Romney and he seemed to be like his father. I was pleased to meet a Romney son.

Lets fight for the conservative backbone of our party. The Republicans are back and in force.

I’m still planning on voting for Romney as a write in! He’s still getting my vote!

    Hi all,

Although there are tears in my eyes now even as I type this, we can be proud of ourselves going forward for having supported this great man.

McAmnesty & Chucklebee look foolish and spiteful in comparison,

Rush said he has had more email today than he has ever had in the history of his program. THAT says a great deal about Mitt as well.

We need to keep this site going and gather a grassroots effort to erite in Mitt for 2008 and draft him for 2012.

Whatever I can do to help, please PLEASE let me know.

I really feel for the supporters of Mitt Romney. To place your hopes on a candidate that will save this country is an emotional investment. I feel that Mitt was feeling tremendous pressure to dive on the sword so a brokered convention will not become a reality. Although his speech was wonderful, I feel that he has left a HUGE flock of lost souls in his wake. You see, Mitt had a chance at a brokered convention, to be the next President of the US. The GOP party wants all dissension behind them, and a nominee named prior to the convention. I feel that Mitt bowed to these pressures and left his people hanging in a big way. I think this is shameful. Although he did not endorse McCain (I think he stands strong against that one), he and the rest of us know that the media will do that for him. So all of you that were left in the lurch, please consider your conservative votes carefully. The GOP pressured your candidate, please don’t let them pressure you.

  9. Helen Says:

    DEAR GOVERNOR ROMNEY,
I AM WRITING TO EXPRESS MY SADNESS WHEN MY HUSBAND CALLED ME FROM SAN FRANCISCO ABOUT YOUR DECISION, AND I WANT TO USE THIS BOARD TO SPEAK TO OUR FELLOW REPUBLICANS THE FOLLOWING:

    1) I WISH GOVERNOR ROMNEY TO KEEP THE “ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT DONATION FUNDS” OPEN, SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE TO DONATE OUR MONEY WITHIN THE LIMITATION OF CAMPAIGN LAW REQUIRED (WAS $1,000/PERSON/YEAR?) FOR 2012 ELECTION.

    2) I WILL NOT VOTE FOR MCCAIN AND WHOEVER WOULD BE HIS VP, BUT WILL VOTE FOR OBAMA, TO CHALLENGE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ON THESE REASONS:

    A) THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS GETTING SMALLER AND SMALLER, BECAUSE THEY CAN’T STAND ON IT’S PRINCIPLES ON SMALL GOVERNMENT, LOWER TAX, AND ZERO TOLERANCE OF CORRUPTION. AMONG THESE 2008 REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES, HALF OF THEM ARE EITHER HAVE A CONNECTIONS WITH THE CORRUPTIONS SUCH AS GIULIANI AND HUCHABEE, OR DIRECT INVOLVED IN THE CORRUPTION IN PAST. I FEEL THAT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS GOING TO A WRONG DIRECTION, AND DON’T WANT TO BE A PART OF IT.

B). THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS VERY LOW TOLERANCE TO RACE, GENDER AND RELIGION, AND IS EXTREMELY EXCLUSIVE, WHICH HAS BEEN AND WILL BE THE MAJOR FACTOR THAT WOULD HURT THE PARTY BADLY. I RECALL THAT AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS ELECTION, MCCAIN AND HUCHABEE SPENT A GOOD CHUCK OF TIME, RESOURCES AND THEIR ENERGY TO ATTACK GOVERNOR ROMNEY’S RELIGION, AND TRIED TO DISQUALIFY HIS ELECABILITY ONLY BASE ON HIS PERSONAL FAITH. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY DOESN’T HAVE THEIR CORE VALUE ANY MORE, BUT FILL UP WITH THOSE RACISTS LIKE NEWT GINGRICH, RELIGION BIGOT LIKE HUCHABEE, AND CORRUPTIONS LIKE MCCAIN AND HIS BUDDIES.

    3) JOHN MCCAIN WILL CHANGE HIS POSITION ON THE IRAQ WAR IN THE GENERAL ELECTION AND BECOME A FLIP-FLOP AGAIN. THERE ARE MORE THAN 70% OF THE GENERAL POPULATIONS IN THIS COUNTRY WHO WANT THE WAR IN IRAQ TO BE ENDED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IN ORDER TO BE APPEALING TO THOSE PEOPLE IN GENERAL ELECTION, JOHN MCCAIN HAS TO CHANGE HIS POSITION AND MAKE PROMISE THAT HE WILL END THE WAR IN IRAQ, OTHERWISE, HE WOULD BE ABLE TO DEFEAT THE DEMOCRATS IN GENERAL ELECTION, AND GOVERNOR ROMNEY WILL NOT HAVE TO PLACE HIMSELF IN SUCH POSITION AS HE WILL NOT CONTINUE HIS CAMPAIGN.

    4) I WILL NEVER MAKE ANY DONATION TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY UNTIL 2012 IF ROMNEY COMES OUT FOR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, BECAUSE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS BEEN CORRUPTED, EXCLUSIVE AND FILL UP WITH POLITICAL JUNKERS, CORRUPTIONS AND RELIGION BIGOTS.

    5) I WILL ELIMINATE ALL THE CABLE NEWS CHANNELS FROM MY TV CHANNEL PACKAGE JUST FOR SAVING AN EXTRA $20.00 TO PAY FOR MY GAS AND OR UTILITY BILLS

    6) I WILL FOLLOW ALL MY DEMOCRAT FRIENDS TO VOTE FOR OBAMA, AND MAKE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY FEEL ASHAMED FOR THEIR RELIGION BIGOT AND CORRUPTIONS. I WANT TO SEND A CLEAR MESSAGE TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IN WASHINGTON BY VOTING FOR OBAMA AS THE PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES, AND TO MAKE MY POINT: DEMOCRAT PARTY CAN TOLERANT A BLACK MAN TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES, BUT REPUBLICAN PARTY CAN’T TOLERANT A GREAT MAN LIKE ROMNEY TO HAVE A DIFFERENT FAITH OR RELIGION. IT HAS BEEN ASHAMED FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, AND IT IS ASHAMED FOR FOX NEWS AS WELL.

VOTE FOR OBAMA, AND TEACH THE REPUBLICAN PARTY THE LESSON ON WHY THEY WILL LOSS FOR THE 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

  10. Abe Says:

    ken,

you are 100% correct one that one !!!

History will nver see a president Mc Cain, it will certainly never, ever
see a president Huckster, but will see a President Romney at one
time for sure. I´m deeply convinced of that. No doubt in my
    mind!

  11. Roya Says:

    Well spoken.

  12. CT Says:

America just was not ready to have someone who had such character, I think it scared alot of people. Maybe after 4 years of seeing unethical, lying, cheating, back room deals, higher taxes, open borders, higher gas prices we will stop letting the media make our choices and we will look for someone we can be motivated by. (GO MITT 2012) I will miss the excitement of the debates…NO ONE will need to have the facts or the answers due to those that will be debating. Huck can just keep giving up one line jokes…McCain will now be as rude and ignorant to Huck as he was to Mitt. Thats the kind of guy he is… DID I SAY GO MITT 2012…..

  13. Helen Says:

This is a very bad year for the Republican with 70% of the populations is against the war in Iraq. It was G.Bush’s mistake and he was not able to manage the war in Iraq and the economy at home. Pat Buchanan made very sound comments about the Bush’s legacy. He said that Bush only done two things that were right during his Presidency: 1) Cut taxes (but not permanent yet); 2) Appointed two conservative judges in the Supreme Court. I would give him some credits on fighting the terrorist, but the war in Iraq that he had managed poorly.

McCain will have to change his issues during the general election in order to attract the independent, in particular the war in Iraq. Let us wait and see. He will tell the American people that he will withdraw the troops from Iraq as soon as he elected as the President of United States, and he will talk the same issues that Democrats will be talking in general election.

I don’t think that Governor Romney should take McCain’s offer as a VP, and let either Giuliani, Chris and/or Huckabee take it. Each one of these will have a lot of garbage be disclosed by the media and/or the Democrats in general election, and I don’t want to see that Governor Romney’s name has any association with them. The Media and Democrats don’t want Governor to be the Republican’s nominee, because they afraid of him. He is crystal clean with nothing to be attacked, except of his religion which if the Democrats attack him on this, they will loss tickets big time. Democrats has much more tolerance than the Republican in many aspects, which I am thinking to switch my party affiliation if the party continue to act like this. Republican has the history of exclusive, and it has been hurt its core badly.

I watched Kudlow & the Company the other night, one of his contributors, Steve Moore said McCain has been a deal maker, and I believe that is true. He made a deal with Giuliani before the NH primary, and may be a deal with Huckabee before the Iowa primary too, and they are still making deals. The primary in WV was a clear case that when McCain was voted out in second round, they were told to vote for Huckabee. If this campaign has been such a dirty game, why Governor has to stay in this dirty game? The sooner he gets out, the better to preserve his reputation and the trust from his supporters.

The Republican Primary in 2008 has been the most corruption campaign and it has been ashamed for the party. McCain will not win this election. The Republican Party has been in the power for eight years, and didn’t do much good for the country. Let the Democrat take the White House and make more messes, and by the 2012, Governor Romney can come out and clean them all. It has not been a good year for the Republican since the incumbent is not doing so well, and people want to make change anyway like they did in 1992 for G. Bush Sr.

  14. Bill Says:

Like the media has been with this humble man, Ron Paul needs to be at the table here. Sick of sell-outs in the Republican party? Unethical gamesmanship? The GOP wants us to vote for a man that is liberal, and has lost their way. Please do not choose the lesser of 2 evils (McCain/Huckabee vs Democrats). Show the Republican party that there is still a conservative out there and that is what we choose. Ron Paul stood up for Mitt Romney and stated that he hopes that his religion does not create a bias against him. It’s time we stood up for Ron Paul when the GOP stands up for nothing conservative anymore!
