Memo to Fox News …
I know there are a lot of people out there frustrated with Fox News for their lack of fair, unbiased coverage. Reader Rebecca Weimar from Canada wrote an excellent letter to Fox:
“Fox News what is up with you??? As a Canadian I have always preferred getting my US news and views from Fox because of what I saw as “fair and balanced” reporting and analysis. Of course I was expecting much of the same when it came to the republican primaries. I must be going blind because I don’t see it. I see an overwhelming support from you for John McCain, and this despite his blatant dishonesty, real-time flip flopping, anti-republican/conservative record in the senate . . . I could go on.
I am so disheartened because of your slanted coverage and bias against Mitt Romney who is proving to be a great MAN, true blue and wise. I remember watching Bill O’Reilly a while back, state with such surety that Mr. Romney was going to be the Republican nominee. He did a relatively in-depth interview with Romney which was “fair and balanced”. He asked some tough questions and got thoughtful, honest and thorough answers. In fact, Romney gets asked the toughest questions of any of the candidates, and intelligently and methodically answers each and every one of them without prevarication (unlike others).
Bill O’Reilly used to be my hero. Now, I can’t trust him. He and his team have either not done in-depth research on the two top Republican candidates, or they have and are suppressing the truth.
The Internet is a wonderful invention which has enabled us regular folk to do our own research and believe me, we can dig very deep. We also have the intelligence to sift through the “crap” about each candidate and go straight to their own stated stands on issues and, more importantly, their records on what they have done to prove their qualifications for office.
Mitt Romney has no equal in this contest, neither on the Republican nor the Democratic side. He is a “will do” man of action and integrity who seeks to be President of the United States of America, not for his own agrandizement, but to help your nation and its people prosper again. As a Canadian I understand that a strong America (economically, morally and defensively) translates into a better world. In my view America, with the right leadership, is not a nation-builder, but a nation who supports other nations to build themselves up. That’s a good thing!
So, Bill O’Reilly and you other Fox News celebrities, stop your own spin, analyse your own biased coverage, credit your audience with more smarts than you’re currently giving us, and get back to being “fair and balanced.”
Thank you,
Rebecca Weimar

Murdoch who owns Fox all of a sudden flipped and supported McCain 8 years ago via his NYPost against Bush a few days before the NY primary. a few days later McCain got the communications bill Murdoch wanted through his Commerse committee. It was so obvious. Murdoch is expecting McCain to come thru for him again in the future. That’s all it is folks. That’s how McCain operates.

Thank you Stefanie for posting the letter from Rebecca to Fox News.com. It motivated me to email Fox the following:
Why are you so obviously favoring John Mc Cain in your Republican Primary coverage?
Mc Cain is not a torchbearer of the Reagan legacy. He is a destroyer of the conservative coalition that Ronald Reagan built and Newt Gingrich continued. Mitt Romney is the candidate that can best build on what Reagan and Newt accomplished for us. McCain is too arrogant and intolerant to listen to the voice of the people he claims to represent.
Why has Romney been given the title of Flip Flopper when this label so more accurately describes Mc Cain. Mc Cain was against the Bush Tax cuts because in his rhetoric at the time, he couldn’t ” in good conscience support tax cuts ” to “the wealthiest Americans”. His position shows he has no understanding of how the free market economy builds greater wealth for all of us, not just the “wealthy”. Without wealth, investment, research and development and job creation: how are we to have a great defense. education system, research and development, medical care for everyone and true national security. Mitt has the character, the understanding of the issues and the leadership to advance the ideals of the Republican Party to a victory we can all be proud of. Aren’t you seeing the ground swell among the conservative base for Mitt Romney. No mention of Mitt Romney in Fox News.com headlines ” California Gold Rush”. How can you ignore that Mitt is even in the latest Rasmussen poll of California Republicans. What you apparently see as pragmatism has lead to the destruction of ” fair and balanced” journalism.
Seems that Copp might have an explanation for the Fox News bias. We need to all email Fox News and bring then back to reality and “fair and balanced reporting.
So happy to have found this blog

My wife and I have also lost confidence in Fox, our primary source of news, and can not understand why McCain & Huckabee are covered consistantly and Mitt gets a 15 second clip and scorn from the host of any particular show. Fox and Friends was our morning staple but they seem to prattle on and on and then cut any and all interviews short for the “hard break.” Poor production and the cut-offs have had us switching to Morning Joe on MSNBC where things are much more interesting and they don’t dis Romney.

Chicago where we voted early and for Mitt.
