McCain: Super Tuesday May End The GOP Race

February 3rd, 2008 Posted in February 5th, John McCain, McCain Lies, Mitt Romney, Reagan

CNN POLITICAL TICKER

This very brief article proves, that if you are John “Open Borders” McCain, you can cram a large volume of dopey statements into a very small space. Here’s the first one.

1. “From what we see in the polls, there is a very good chance it could be over on Tuesday,” said the Arizona senator, adding: “The sooner we get that done, the sooner I can go to work on uniting the party.”

Stop kidding around, alright?…….”the sooner I can go to work on uniting the party.” Sen. McCain, if you are the Republican nominee, you will put the party through a meat grinder, and what comes out on the other end will in no way resemble anything like the Republican party that Ronald Reagan helped to build. You will never “unite” the party because you agree with almost nothing that this party stands for. I have already witnessed scores of people talking and writing about how they will work to oppose everything you will try to do to this country, because they think you will take the country in the wrong direction.

2. Despite his complicated history with the party’s base, he said, pragmatic Republicans will back him when faced with the Democratic alternative.

Why would we want to back McCain? The “Democratic alternatives” are virtually carbon copies of McCain. If we get McCain, we get Hillary’s policies. If McCain wins the Republican nomination, we just lost the election, because no matter what happens from that point forward, we get a liberal Democrat in the White House.

3. The senator also dismissed a Drudge Report story that he had met with former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and weighed joining the Democratic Party. McCain told reporters Friday that he had met with Daschle at the Democrat’s request, but had just laughed and reaffirmed his GOP loyalties when asked about the prospect of switching parties.

The best way I know of to “reaffirm” GOP loyalties is to at least occasionally vote with the Republican party. On ANWR, tax cuts, GITMO, campaign finance, immigration and energy caps and taxes, if their are any areas where McCain has “reaffirmed” his GOP loyalties, I’m not aware of it.

Why does he have to wait until after the election to “unify the party”

That sounds more like a strategy of someone who wants to purge the party.

  2. Kathleen Says:

I’ve been listening to McCain on TV today. He is really full of himself. Pride goeth . . . etc.

  3. Ferreira Says:

Right on shiggz. I guess I’m not what McCain considers a pragmatic Republican.

And why is he denying the flirt with becoming independent. So much for straight talk.

Here’s a great little article I just read over at Redstate: http://www.redstate.com/stories/elections/2008/stop_it_now#comment

  5. Eric Says:

McCain can’t unify the party, we’re not stupid.

Let’s make sure that Super Tuesday isn’t so Super for McCain

  6. Karen Says:

Yahoo! Zogby has Romney ahead in CA! I’m spending my afternoon making Romney calls tomorrow!

  7. Linda Says:

The longer Romney is in the race, the better chance he has, and I believe ROMNEY when he says he will be in the race past Super Tuesday.

  8. WesBama Says:

Well that sounds as if McNasty may be thinking about dropping out. McNasty seems to correctly think Romney will win the Republican nomination on Super Tuesday.

It really wouldn’t surprise me if McCain drops out because he is already on record as saying Hilary Clinton would make a good President. He also said that about John Kerry last time in 2004 when he had some interest in the VP slot on the Democratic ticket. It almost sounds like McNasty is in the Senate Party and not the Republican Party.

Have you asked all your e-mail contacts to vote for Romney? I sent out this short message and asked that they pass it along to others. I included all of message below ( “Pass” thru “Weston”) on Subject line and again in Body of e-mail.

Pass this on to all today… Whole Message: ” Vote for Mitt Romney for President of our Country.” …Thanks M.J. Weston

“I’m not what McCain considers a pragmatic Republican.”
John McCain is wrong. Republican Party is the party of principal, not opportunism. If he gets the nomination, we write Romney’s name on the ballot, and let Demo win. By the end of 2012, Clinton/Obama will take all the blames, not the Republicans. If we can’t get the right person in the White House, let the Demo win. I go with Ann Coulter.

  10. John Cronin Says:

I’m with the “write-in” strategy if it comes to that. Since there are so many open primaries and caucuses in the early states, Democrats and Independents got the chance to effectively choose our Republican candidate. And of course, as of today, they chose the guy most likely to get creamed by Clinton/Obama.

I really do think we have a chance to go into a brokered convention in a position of strength, but if it doesn’t play out that way, then I am not going to “hold my nose” and vote for John “Open Borders” McCain or do something really silly like vote for a hard left Democrat.

It’s either Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee or Mitt Romney as the write-in nominee and if both of those fail, then it’s Mitt Romney in 2012!
