The Endorsements are Coming In

Three great endorsements today, one from Laura Ingraham, one from Rep. Lynn Westmoreland from Georgia, and one from former Pennsylvania Senator, Rick Santorum.  Sen. Santorum worked with McNasty in the Senate for 12 years:

To nobody’s surprise, Santorum’s for Romney

When his fiscal conservative credentials were under attack, then U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., rolled out U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., for campaign stops around the state.

McCain vouched for him at three events including the Army-Navy Game Gala.

“[L]et’s not underestimate what Rick represents in the United States Senate, said McCain. “He represents family values, he represents commitment to family and America, and he represents what — in my view — is the next generation of leadership in the Republican Party. So there’s a lot at stake in this election. We can and will win this election, and it’s important that we do so. It’s important that we send a signal to America that this is the kind commitment and leadership that deserves to remain in the United States Senate.”

But after the election, Santorum made no secret of his disdain for McCain in the Senate.

I served 12 years with him, six years in the Senate as one of the leaders of the Senate, trying to put together the conservative agenda, and almost at every turn, on domestic policy, John McCain was not only against us, but leading the charge on the other side,” Santorum said on Mark Levin’s syndicated radio show.

Like many conservatives, Santorum has been critical of the McCain-Feingold Act campaign finance reform legislation.

He goes further on Hugh Hewitt’s show, saying that McCain won’t win the GOP base and was on the wrong side of the immigration issue.

“John McCain was the guy who was working with Ted Kennedy to drive it down our throats, and lectured us repeatedly about how xenophobic we were, lectured us, us being the Republican conference, about how wrong we were on this, how we were on the wrong side of history,” Santorum said on the immigration debate.

Endorsing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for president today, Santorum said, “Conservatives can no longer afford to stand on the sidelines in this election, and Gov. Romney is the candidate who will stand up for the conservative principles that we hold dear.”
And today he told Laura Ingraham that Romney’s the only one who understands the “war here at home.
Not exactly a huge surprise for Santorum given his choices at this point in the campaign, but newsworthy nonetheless at a critical time for Romney before the “Super Tuesday primaries in 22 states.

I am very happy that we are not alone on this. There are important voices that support for Romney that bring our voices to get through. I hope that voters listen to them and make a wise choice on Super Tuesday that can make a different for our next brilliant eight years of leadership.

I called my sister in NJ to encourage her to share her support for Romney in her neighborhood also to have her husband and her to call relatives and friends in CA to vote for Romney. I make several calls to my friends in N.Y. to support for Romney. I hope you are doing same thing. Thank you.

I’ve seen several replies where individuals have downgraded the Santorum endorsement because he asked for John McCain to help him in his last campaign but now criticizes McCain. Hey - John McCain was an enthusiastic endorser of Mitt Romney when Mitt was running for Governor but now he criticizes Mitt.

America needs to realize that Mitt Romney is not the usual candidate. People like Romney do not usually run for office. He is doing this because he feels that he is the right person for the job at this time in Americas history. I think when the topic of the economy comes up in the White House our President should be the smartest person in the room. That person is Mitt Romney. He is not a polished politician or comedian. He is a serious man for a serious time for America. I am tired of Washington insiders running this country. I am ready for new ideas outside of Washington. Republicans should wake up and vote for Mitt Romney.

Brilliance. Poise. Level temperament. Successful leadership in his home, his business dealings, his church, his community and more. Why would anyone who is truly committed to the values of the Republican Party even consider supporting the cynicism, obvious lack of integrity and dishonest words that define Senator John McCain. Being a POW does not entitle anyone to the office of President of the United States. I hope Americans can begin to see through the corruption and chaos of the media and make an educated decision on whom they elect to lead and protect the United States of America.
Go Mitt! You have our vote!
