Michael Medved Update:
Medved out did himself: He said 4 of the stupidest things I have ever heard on the radio in the space of about 30 seconds.
1. Medved said that Romney should apologize for using the word “time line” even though McCain supported the exact same thing that Romney did: setting benchmarks so that we can pull our troops out, when we have accomplished what we came to do. Time lines are good when they are pre-conditioned on success in Iraq. But Medved is just as stubborn as McCain and continues to say that Romney should just apologize for saying the same thing that McCain has said in the past.
2. Medved made this big deal about how Romney should apologize, but then went on to say, “but this is would not effect people voting for Romney even if McCain didn’t lie about him.” So according to Medved, McCain said this, and made a big deal about it, even though it would not effect the way anyone voted? You can not believe the above position that Medved advocated (Romney should apologize for saying something he never said)and also believe that it doesn’t matter. Why does Medved think Romney should apologize if it doesn’t matter? Because Meved is an idiot that is still crying about not getting his amnesty bill.
3. Medved said McCain must be the best candidate because he is the front runner. Well Michael, just before Florida Romney was ahead in the delegate count by the same number of delegates that McCain is ahead now. Does that mean that Romney was the best candidate, but magically he no longer is?
4. Romney pointed out the truth about the other candidates (according to independent truth squads) and so he deserves to have lies made about him, because the truth about the other candidates was unflattering. According to Medved it doesn’t matter if what you say about your opponent is true or not all that matters to him is that you never say anything negative. But if the candidate who disagrees with you on immigration says something bad about the candidate who agrees with Medved on Immigration, than you can say anything you want about the first candidate. You can make up any lie you want about him, because he criticized your partner in amnesty promotion: McCain.
I can’t stand listening to him. I feel all icky after I am done. But it is better to know the stupidity in the world than to be ignorant of it. So I continue to leave the radio on, even when he is on. By the way, does any other radio talk show have as many commercials as him?

I no longer listen to Medved because of the rabid rhetoric he spews. He is one of those
“my way or no way” talk show hosts who argues with the caller in a voice that oozes his own superiority. He even “out superiorities” Hillary. If you are going to listen and he has all those commercials, write down the names of his sponsors and then post them. We could give them a clue about so many no longer listen to Med.

I used to enjoy listening to Michael Medved, but after his fawning support of the McCain-Kennedy Shamnesty bill and then his drooling over Huckabee and now his full and disgusting endorsement of the “not a friend of conservatives” McCain, I have no respect for him.
I haven’t listened to him for months, and probably never will. I wouldn’t doubt if this kind of stupidity and nonsense coming from Medved will lose him a large group of listeners. If it does, he deserves it!
It looks like Medved’s “right turn” wasn’t right enough.

I agree. Over the past several weeks his allegiance to McCain has turned from logical to outright ridiculous. Or, perhaps better put, his tolerance to Romney has gone from semi-tolerant to outright vitriol. I won’t listen to him anymore.

Michael Medved is a lifelong Democrat. He is an open borders liberal.
Conservatives have had a tough time listening to him for years.

I did turn him on once. Once was enough.

I’m still in shock at how illogical and pained Medved’s logic has become during this race. I was a rabid Medhead until recently and can no longer stand to listen to him. Not because he disagrees with me. That’s happened before and is only natural. But, rather, it’s because he seems to have abandoned all sense of rational and objective reason. Something I had always thought was the hallmark of the Medved dialog.
I’m with the previous poster. Let’s track his sponsors and let them know how unhappy we are with his anti-Romney anti conservative stances of late.

We don’t get him here. I’m glad. - P

Email Medved and tell him what you really think!

I’m still shaking my head in disbelief. It’s as though a sound filtering veil has been pulled from my ears and I’m hearing the real Medved for the first time. I will never listen to him again. Any speculation as to why Medved doesn’t like Romney?

Consider all the other longstanding conservative analysts who are in complete agreement with one another that John McCain would be damaging to the Republican party, and that Romney is the much better candidate:
George Will
Lars Larson
Ann Coulter
Joe Scarborough
Sean Hannity
Michael Reagan
Thomas Sowell
Rush Limbaugh
Mark Levin
Laura Ingraham
Michelle Malkin
Glenn Beck
Pat Buchanan
Hugh Hewitt
Robert Novak
This isn’t just a random sampling of conservative voices in America. This is a veritable All-Star list of the bulk of the most prominent conservative voices over the last several years. I challenge anyone to compile a more august group of proven conservative analysts who would be instead touting McCain’s conservatism. When placed in this proper perspective, Michael Medved seems like almost an island now in conservative land.
I don’t know the stances of William F. Buckley, Bill Bennett, Tony Snow, or Newt Gingrich, but if Medved is looking for genuine company, I’m not sure he’s got very many other bona fide possibilities. Who else is there up in this realm? (and Bill O’Reilly doesn’t really apply here, because he’s more of a moderate)
How is it that the listed long-standing prominent conservative voices have practically unilaterally reached the same conclusion — that John McCain is not a real conservative, and is not a worthy candidate for president? If anyone should know what a real conservative looks like, shouldn’t they? After all, they have no appointments to aspire to, and no particular candidate affiliations like those in Washington are going to have.
So what does that give us? Pretty much all the premier conservative voices are saying in unison that Mitt Romney is not only much more qualified to carry the Republican banner, but that John McCain would literally be a disaster to the party as U.S. President. Perhaps it would behoove Republican voters to listen to those who have lived and breathed conservatism for many years, and not make the mistake of putting John McCain in office as president. And Michael Medved has suddenly found himself irrelevant to conservatism by aligning himself to a non-conservative, when a highly qualified very conservative candidate in Mitt Romney is running alongside him.

I think John McCain is awesome. Michael Medveds defence of John McCain has been great. He brings up great points about him. Heaven knows I don’t want Mitt Romney, pro government healthcare, pro-choice, pro gay marriage running this country. Michael Medved is a hero in my opinion.

I have thoroughly enjoyed and promoted Michael Medved since I moved to Seattle ten years ago. I loved his ability to be rational and considerate even to with whom he disagreed. I respected his intelligent analysis of the issues, even when I didn’t agree, which was often.
I am shocked by his love fest with McCain, his support and praise of the goofy Huckabee, and his mean spirited and ultra biased comments about Romney. The manner in which he interfaces with the callers, and promotes his agenda is a major turnoff, and that includes the dial in my car. I used to consider Medved an intelligent choice for talk radio, but I won’t be listening to him anymore. Any suggestions for a replacement?

I’m in the same camp as you. I used to subscribe to his podcast and listen every day. Since the beginning of the primaries he has been the exact opposite of his rational, logical self. I’ve stopped listening completely, and have switched to Hannity and Mark Levin.
