I thought that the speech given by President Thomas Whitmore (Bill Pullman) in the movie Independence Day would be appropriate. I’ve made some changes to fit us Romney supporters:

Good evening. In less than a week, we along with others Super Tuesday voters will join together. And we will be voting in the most important election in the history of mankind. “Mankind.” That word should have new meaning for all of us on February fifth. Republicans we can’t be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that in less than a week it will be February fifth, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from John McCain. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win that day, the Fifth of February will no longer be known as Super Tuesday, but as the day the Republican Party declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate President Mitt Romney!

They might be a little to late for the party. Why is that? Why has Fox News alienated a large portion of their viewing audience? Why haven't more conservatives come forward with endorsements? I think the party is moving center on immigration and global warming. This will co$t the middle class dearly. So, much for the American family. I wish evangelicals could see that Mitt Romney is our only hope to continue the conservative movement in America.

We have to get the spotlight on McCain's record. He says he can be a better leader than Mitt? What legislative greatness has he achieved to date? McCain-Feingold/Kennedy/Liberman. These bills must be explained agian and again so the casual voter understands. When contrasted to Mitt's record, it should be a landslide but we need a drum beat of the Romney Team/Supporters asking the right question---"What conservative ideas/issues/bills has McCain advanced in two+ decades in Washington"?

The current popular vote total according to the CNN Election Center website is Romney with 1,240,392 and McCain with 1,207,988. This includes a percentage based estimate of the Wyoming vote.

Mike,

Great posts on this site!

Mitt has made some brilliant points in speeches and debates that need more coverage. I don't know if you saw how CNN's political analyst blogged the debates but it seemed to be the first time he had considered Mitt's idea that we are facing a battle, not just over Iraq, but over vastly different political economic systems that are attempting global domination. Our liberties, our culture, and our families are at stake.

In this climate we need someone with the capacity to play 3D chess and the flexibility and brilliance to fight, not the old wars of the past, but a new kind of war. McCain's and old warrior? So What? The new war is not just a war in Iraq and it will be won on many fronts -- the military front is only part of that. People need to catch the vision that the emphasis on the economy is not just about our paychecks. The economy powers our militiary and it powers our ability to retain our liberty.

I think this is a hugely important point that really undermines what McCain sees as his own strength, and addresses the fears that have some Americans flocking to his camp. His weaknesses are astounding, but even his "strength" is practically already outdated and much too narrow to serve us in the future.

I wish Mitt would flesh out his multilateral approach to global jihad and show how narrow McCain's vision really is!

GO MITT!!!

Miguel has an idea to start a website where people could go to sign a statement that if McCain gets the Republican nomination they will not support McCain. This would bring attention to the fact that McCain is a liberal and the media may pick it up. The question is would this hurt Governor Mitt Romney?

I want to add that if Florida primary were to happen today then results might be different. Because Crist endorsement got voters excited and confidence and not much time to reflects on those candidates. My guess is there are many voters in Florida regrets that they voted for Mac today.

I am glad that Arnold's endorsement announced today so it will give CA voters plenty of time to take a hard look at Mitt vs. Mac before vote.

I live in a swing state, and one of my dearest friends is a liberal Dem. She was an Edwards supporter, and has told me that she's voting for Mitt on Tuesday. She doesn't agree with his politics, but thinks he's brilliant and getting a raw deal. She said she thought he was a really decent man. I also have a bumper sticker on my car and a yard sign out front. I am not giving up yet!
