Hannity to Vote for Romney

January 31st, 2008 Posted in Mitt Romney

Posted by mobile phone:
I’m here at Nashville International Airport waiting for my flight to LA and my husband calls and tells me that Sean Hannity point blank said that he is going to be voting for Mitt Romney in the New York primary on Tuesday. Joel made sure to point out that it was not an endorsement but Sean said he had never done that on the air before. Endorsement or not I think its great news.

See ya on the other side so to speak…

All the best,

What’s the difference between saying you will vote for someone and an endorsement? That’s strange. Now we need Rush and the rest to say the same thing.

  2. David D Says:

His first two choices have dropped out (Rudy and Thompson). But, this is good news.

  3. John S. Maine Says:

I dont think Rudy and Thompson were his first choices. I have been following him and he has been very positive and supportive of Mitt all along. Ultimtaely it does not matter the important thing is that he is onboard and understands how dangerous a John McCain would be to the safety, security and finacial footing of our Country!

  4. John S. Maine Says:

Ann, I just emailed you a knew video link!

    Dear Chris,

I just sent an email below to Chris Wallace :
As a conservative Republican, I don’t feel that interviewing John McCain on this coming Sunday is fair to Governor Romney just two days before the 21 states primary election. This is a biased schedule and intend to give John McCain a free advertisement and airtime. I have a good faith on Foxnews Sunday for long time, because I thought this is the only news media that could bring up the conservative’s voice. However, since Chris Wallace contracted to this program, I feel very uncomfortable with his liberal bias. If Foxnews Sunday wants to be fair and balanced, you should have both Governor Romney and John McCain to be interviewed on the same day and same time. SInce this will be the eve of Super Tuesday, and the time is very crucial to both candidates. I don’t think that Chris Wallace can assume that John McCain will be the Republican’s nominee, and it is too early to draw that conclusion yet.

    Thank you very much.

Blunt says vote for Huckabee is wasted
    ASSOCIATED PRESS
    01/31/2008

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Gov. Matt Blunt says conservative Republicans would be throwing their votes away if they back Mike Huckabee in Missouri’s presidential primary.

Blunt is a supporter of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

The Missouri governor told reporters Thursday that if conservatives split their votes between Huckabee and Romney, then the more moderate John McCain likely will win Tuesday’s Republican primary.

Although Huckabee won the Iowa caucuses, he has lagged behind McCain and Romney in subsequent primaries. Blunt says Huckabee is out of contention.

He told reporters: “I think everybody really in their heart and mind understands that this is a two-person race, and if you want to have a voice now, you need to cast a vote for one of the two leading candidates.”

With John McCain’s all-too-easy road to the nomination paved through Florida and now nearly complete one thing is clear: The Republican Party has been hijacked. Over the past month a new Axis of Evil has emerged — not one based in Damascus, Tehran or Pyongyang — but instead in Cedar Rapids, Charleston, South Carolina, Derry, New Hampshire and Boca Raton, Florida. It is the liberal and “independent” voters in these 4 states that have nearly completed a deed that makes Kim Jong Il envious — the near crippling of the American Electoral System. These four states have combined their native liberal populism with an imported liberal electorate and have forced the GOP to accept a nominee so distasteful that in more than one poll — the numbers of voters choosing not to vote and those choosing to vote third party actually exceed those who will hold their nose and vote for Maverick, War Hero, Amnesty Supporter, John McCain.

I can hear you saying, “surely you aren’t saying that South Carolina has gone liberal — are you?” Are you kidding me? Drive through the Carolinas and count the number of license plates from NJ, NY and Pennsylvania. There is not much Dixie in the Carolinas; it’s more like Trenton and Long Island with fireworks. “But”, you protest, “New Hampshire, is Live Free or Die, it’s been a backbone of conservatism since the 1950’s.” No longer my friends — NH has become an exurb of Boston, with Boston’s sensibilities and, ugh, their voting tastes. NH hasn’t been reliably conservative since Reagan’s first term. These voters would rather be loved by the Boston Globe, than respected by the Union Leader.

But the evidence continues, you say, “Iowa, that’s America, with small town values and homespun sensibilities.” Wrong again — Iowa is just a state brimming with farmers on the federal dole, college students and ex hippie professors looking to con, libs in training at Grinnell. Continued

And Florida? As my bubbies would say in Bay Ridge — puhleeeez. It’s the 6th borough and has been since the mid 1960’s. Liberals have been sliding down the I-95 corridor since Kennedy was elected.

Sadly these 4 states have done more than set the tone for the other 46 — they’ve dictated terms. Frankly I could extend the analogy to include Nevada, which is down to about 13% native — but why beat a dead horse.

What we have is the sick and twisted dreams of Pinch Sulzberger, Don Imus, Maureen Dowd, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews come true: the GOP has been forced to choose a nominee designed to cause the base to retch, and thereby not vote. Guaranteeing 4 years of Clinton score settling or Obama socializing entire corporate sectors.

Its time to simultaneously bring back democracy to the GOP and defang the left and her Rockefeller accomplices in the new Axis of Evil. It’s time for the nuclear option — its time for the GOP to front-load the whole freaking process into one date. Make every state vote on exactly the same day. Make every candidate compete in EVERY state at the exact same time and hold every single GOP primary and caucus on Super Tuesday. When NH and IOWA complain, take a page from the Democrats and refuse to seat their delegates, or better yet, declare renegade states as straw polls.

This would balance our nomination process out. There will be no more “Big Mo”, no more singular precincts in obscure Iowa towns setting the tone for the rest of the country. If liberals from Englewood Cliffs NJ want to vote liberal, it’s going to get cancelled out by conservatives in Chattanooga — who might actually get to vote for Fred. Its time to let Nebraska count as much as New Hampshire. Let Texas matter as much as South Carolina, let Florida be canceled out by California — as it should be. The only two groups who have benefit from the current process are the media flacks selling the drama and John McCain establishment hacks. Does anyone think Fred Thompson got a fair hearing? Or Duncan Hunter? John McCain does not speak for me…or frankly for any one else, I know.

Folks, we have let the liberals and RINOS set the agenda. Open Borders, Higher Taxes, and surrender to Kyoto-worshipping technocrats. This is the Republican Party? But hey, the McCainiacs counter, “John McCain is a war hero — right?” Let me be the first to say it’s not about what you did in the 60’s sir — it’s about what you will do to America in 2009 and beyond.

This is our party, not John McCain’s or Mel Martinez’s, or Lindsay Graham’s. The Republican Party is THE conservative party dammit. Let’s admit it and take it back. RINOS and Liberals have taken the GOP plane hostage, and its time for us passengers to revolt…and do what has to be done — Let’s Roll.

  9. John Says:

I thought that the speech given by President Thomas Whitmore (Bill Pullman) in the movie Independence Day would be appropriate. I’ve made some changes to fit us Romney supporters:

Good evening. In less than a week, we along with others Super Tuesday voters will join together. And we will be voting in the most important election in the history of mankind. “Mankind.” That word should have new meaning for all of us on February fifth. Republicans we can’t be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it’s fate that in less than a week it will be February fifth, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom… Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution… but from John McCain. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win that day, the Fifth of February will no longer be known as Super Tuesday, but as the day the Republican Party declared in one voice: “We will not go quietly into the night!” We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate President Mitt Romney!

  10. Lisa Kane Says:

    Mr. Romney,
I am writing to strongly encourage you to drop out of the Presidential primary race and endorse Governor Mike Huckabee. At this point, realistically, you are very unlikely to garner more support and delegates than Senator McCain. Even if you were to do so, a huge percentage of American voters will refuse to vote for you (as, indeed, they will if John McCain wins) because they perceive you to be “not conservative enough”, and the Democratic candidate (whoever it may be) will end up winning the election. However, if you back Mr. Huckabee, and he wins the primary, your influence with more moderate citizens his with conservative and Christian voters, would be a huge force to be reckoned with, especially since it is this conservative block that is largely responsible for President Bush’s reelection in 2004. The liberal media understands this, and, therefore, how dangerous Mike Huckabee’s candidacy would be for the Democratic Party, which is why their tactics during the past few weeks have been to smear, distort, downplay or completely ignore him. Please take this into consideration and do not allow this to happen to our country. We cannot afford to lose the White House this year. Do the right thing for America.

  11. Droo Says:

    Lisa -

You have got to be kidding me.

  12. kb Says:

    Lisa Huckabee -

    Get a life!

  13. Joel Blodgett Says:

    To Lisa:
Lisa, - Please explain why you feel that Governor Romney should drop out and endorse Huckabee. Based on current primary elections that have taken place it appears to me that Huckabee is in third place. Wouldn’t it be more acceptable to have Huckabee in third place drop out and endorse Romney who is in Second?

What do you say both Romney and Huckabee drop out and endorse Ron Paul instead? Wouldn’t you admit that even Ron Paul would be better then John McCain? Come on do what’s best for your country and your party. Write a letter, better yet Call, Governor Huckabee and encourage him to drop out.

  14. Miguel Says:

Lisa, what color is the sky in the universe you live in? Huckabee a conservative. On everything but social issues Mike Huckabee is to the left of Clinton. In Arkansas he had a record that would make any liberal democrat proud of. And he would have no chance of winning the general election. If Huckabee were the republican nominee and both Clinton and Obama dropped out of the race, Undecided Democrat would win the Presidency.

  15. CT Says:

Lisa…You must not know how to read…Huckabees record is there to inform you. Make sure it’s the public record and not the one he provides for you. He’s about as liberal as Clinton…Hates Rich people…oh but will ask them to donate to his campaign….By the way…Clinton and Obama have more money than Huck and McCain together, I’m sure they will run a very productive campaign. I can just see the headlines from the dems…Bush Lied…McCain lies and Huck phoned God. I’m voting for Hillary or Obama if either Huck or McCain are the nom (along with Ann Colter).

  16. bigmo Says:

No way would I vote for Hillary or Obama. Talk about a wasted vote and sending the wrong message. If the Dems win in a landslide with a huge number of votes, the Republicans will think they are not “moderate” enough and just lean farther left. Write in Romney and send a REAL message.

  17. Frozone Says:

Hey, don’t miss cut and paste Lisa talking to herself in this post on this site:

(Oh, was that my outside voice? Oops. Sorry).

Wow, cut and paste really is easy. Even a dumb blonde like myself can do it ;)

  18. Travis McCrea Says:

This does at least explain why Sean has had a bias against Huckabee.

This is why I only watch the big O

  19. K.G. Says:

It’s identity politics, stupid. Black people vote for Barak, uneducated and older women vote for Hill, evangelicals for Huck, military and moderates for Mac, and smart, successful (or wannabe successful) people vote for Mitt. Midas Mitt improves everything he touches. It’s good to see more and more smart people getting on board–recognizing that Mitt’s our last best hope for a smarter, more successful America.
